I am having a Dell Inspiron 3521 laptop which came with a Ubuntu installation. For obvious reasons I shifted to Windows 8.1 x64 pro but immediately my machine no longer detected networks. In fact, I can only see the option to use wired connection now (after installing some drivers from Dell) in the system tray network notification.
View 8 RepliesLaptop stopped detecting Wifi. Hovering over signal bars indicates connectioins available. When trying to connect shows no connections available. Have tried cycling the (F3) wifi switch, checked updated drivers. Router is fine and was reset several times. The laptop will not detect any wifi network (all are seen by several other phones and computers). Is this a broken antenna?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Inspiron 3521 laptop with Windows 8 and Dell Wireless 1703 Card. After I start Windows it cannot find the wifi adapter and any wifi networks (including mine). If I reboot the Windows a few times it finds the adapter and connects to the wifi, however after 10-15 minutes Windows freezes and restarts. Is this a hardware or software problem? How could I sort this problem out?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new Inspiron 15 3521. I tried to update to Windows 8.1 several times. It downloads to 50% and then says Installing for a few seconds and then Getting PC Ready for a few seconds then it starts downloading again. Steps taken so far
1. I ran Windows Update and the Intel Storage Controller 7 Series Controller needed to be updated. The update failed.
2. I went to Dell's Driver Support site and it detected the same driver needed to be updated. I ran the update and it installed successfully. I restarted the PC. I ran the Dell driver update again just to be sure and it said it needed to be update. I tried it 3 times and every time it said success but it never updated.
3. Downloaded driver from Dell and tried to install from Device Manager. It said the driver was up to date.
I googled this and it appears to be a common problem but no solution was stated. Surely others are having this issue.
I own a Inspiron 3521, and about 6 months after I bought the system my Bluetooth stopped working, I search for devices, and the only device that shows up is my LGP-769 cell phone, and none of my Bluetooth headsets or other audio devices. However after pairing I cannot establish any kind of connection with the device. My Bluetooth icon still appears in the system tray but the settings will not open, even in the Device Manager the phone reads as a normal Bluetooth device. I've tried updating the drivers, but whenever I try to install a new driver it says that the OS is not compatible, even though it is for Windows 8 64-bit, and from the Dell website. I have searched every form and looked into every possible system setting, and no one seems to be having luck finding a solution to the issue, none of my previous Dell systems have done this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have got a new Dell Inspiron 3521 i5 with 4GB RAM - 64 bit OS - Windows 7 - Service Pack 1 Laptop, everything works good except, the problem with my Wi-Fi Connectivity.
The issue I'm experiencing is with the Internet connectivity, my Wi-Fi connectivity loses frequently and I get message saying "Limited Access", and gives me an option to reconnect it manually which is a bit disappointing. .
Rest all works pretty fine, I'm satisfied about it. Just this error, disappoints me.
The troubleshooting I have tried so far is -
1) Resetting router for 30 seconds and restarting it - did not fix my problem.
2) Checking firewall settings - did not fix my problem either.
3) Tried virus check as well, but no fix so far.
I just bought this Dell Inspiron 15 3521 Model I15RV-1428BLK it says it's a touch screen laptop on the specifications but the touch screen doesn't seem to work at all not even once since I started running the laptop for the first time. The one I tested at the store worked fine.
Looked up for drivers with my service tag, but couldn't find nothing that fixed the problem.
I purchased a Dell Precision M4700 pre-installed with Windows 8 just before Christmas. Over all I am happy with it. My biggest regret was getting Windows 8.
The issue that is really starting to frustrate me is the inability to access the internet through certain secure WiFi access points. For example, I am sitting in a Marriott hotel using the Wifi network in their conference facility. Yesterday I could connect, today I cannot get to the login page. After several attempts to force a fresh connect by connecting to another network I have given up and am now tethered via my phone. A Windows 7 laptop and iPad connect without any problems.
At two companies that had a secure guest network I was unable to login at all.
As far as I can tell from the Dell web site the drivers for the Wifi card (Dell 1540) are all upto date (version 6.30.59.26).
I have a Dell Inspiron 1721 that is not detecting the battery. I have swapped out the battery with another battery and have swapped out the AC/DC charger. But it is still not recognizing the battery, it will work fine with the power cord plugged in.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron N5110 that is about 2 years old. The hard drive was replaced in January this year after being damaged. For the past couple of months I have had a problem with a second monitor being detected when the mains power cable is connected. There has never been a second monitor connected to this laptop. The screen resolution changes and if you have the Display panel open you can see it switch between single monitor and dual monitor. Every time it does this the screen goes black and then comes back up, the mouse pointer resets to the middle of the screen and it makes the noise you would expect when something is being plugged in. All of this does not happen when running on battery power. It happens most when the battery power is almost full or almost empty and the screen can change anywhere up to every 1-2 seconds at this time. When the charge is more towards the middle of the battery it happens a lot less often, maybe only every couple of minutes. It is almost to the point where the laptop is unusable if it is charging. We have checked the display drivers and reinstalled them just in case it was that but it didn't seem to make any difference.

I have a question regarding my Dell Vostro 1000's battery.
To start off, I did the recharge and discharge method and after that, when I disconnected the AC-Power, it only shows the "Total Battery Charge 100%" but the primary, it doesn't say anything. Plus, when it was unplugged, it stays at 100%. Few minutes later, it will drop to 7% and the Battery LED will flash orange to tell me that the battery is low.
And my Battery health is good, but why is Windows 7 not detecting the battery charge properly??

It take me hours to install intel graphics...and now my amd graphics are not detecting by the os .. My laptop is i5-n203tx ......

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had a Dell Inspiron 15 3521 since May 2013; it has been updated to Windows 8.1, 4GB RAM, etc. It's been a great laptop in all honesty.
However, in the last few weeks, I've had some issues with the laptop booting up. Originally, it would turn on, but then stick with a black screen (no other sounds of the computer starting up), and then beep 7 times. Per another forum post I read, that's indicative of a Processor Failure.
In this case, I'd remove AC Power, the battery, give it about 15-20 seconds, then reconnect the charger. The laptop would turn back on, no problems. I'd end up popping the battery back in a little later, and it'd charge with no issues. This has been my fix in the meantime for the last month or so.
Now, I can't get my laptop to even register that it's connected to AC Power. It'll just stay black, and then beep 7 times in a row repeatedly. I've tried using another AC Adapter, in the case my adapter died, and no such luck.
What are my options? My laptop is no longer under warranty, though I do have my service tag.
I have bought a new inspiron 15 3521 & after going through the community i think i have made a mistake of buying this particular model. Still trying to resolve my Bluetooth problem. I have installed dual booting Windows 7 & 8 also

Second thing I have observed is that, when I have my charger connected to the plug point (not connected to the laptop), I see the green light on the charger as ON, but the moment I connect it to the laptop, the light from the charger turns OFF and ultimately, my laptop doesn't charge. I mean no power supplied.
The steps I have carried over so far are -
1) I have tried checking the laptop battery by taking it out and reputing it in the laptop and trying to see if it works, same problem.
2) I have tried checking if everything is okay with the charger, but still the same problem.
My dell inspiron 3521 keypad is not working i have updated all the software and system update is on.
i haven't installed any software, third party application or anything else like that which interferes with my keypad functioning.
I tried to update the drivers for the keyboard from device manager but it showed that the driver is already up to date.
I also checked the ribbon that connected to the keypad with the system hardware and there is no problem in the connection there also.
