Nov 4, 2014It appears that the only way to scroll with the current driver is the two finger scroll. I need a driver that will allow me to edge scroll, that is using one finger on the far right of the touchpad for scrolling. Bonus points if the driver allows "momentum" and doesn't mess up other stuff.

"No Boot Device Found. Press any key to reboot the machine_"
I took the laptop to a local service center and they said that I need a new motherboard. They said they swapped the hard drive with a working one and got the same error message. By that their diagnosis is that the motherboard is damaged.
Where I can purchase a replacement motherboard?

Jan 29, 2009i got my new dv5 last night and ive got a problem. The first time it happened was when i tried to make one of those back up DVD's, i open the disc recovery manager, and the computer suddenly logs off, and im reverted back to the welcome screen where i need to click my name to log back in. Every program that was running simply dissapears. I was like 'crap... i guess i cant make any back up discs'. But then it happened again when i tried to install WinRAR, it was corrupted becuase i copied the files from another computer and after i press ok in the error box it does the same thing.. 3 times i had to re-download a file i was downloading at that time. I guess it only happens when theres an error. I immediatly uninstalled norton and most of the bloatware so it cant be due to that. So now im paranoid about opening any file hoping that it wouldnt log off like that suddenly and lose my work.

Apr 2, 2013My laptop starts up okay but as soon as I open some programs it freezes up every time. I have been using it in safe mode and that seems to work better but it still occasionally freezes. I have read that I should do system restore but there are no restore points so I can't do that. I haven't downloaded any new programs in a while so I'm not sure why it's doing this all of a sudden. Its only a few months old.

Dell Inspiron N5110 :: Without OS - No Disc With Drivers For Windows 7
Jun 7, 2011I received the Dell N5110 laptop without OS today. Strangely package also didn't contain any disc with drivers. When I installed Windows 7 as usually it didn't recognize many devices. Ethernet controller was among those devices, so I couldn't connect to the internet and use Windows Update to find the drivers. Using my mobile phone as a modem and Windows Update I managed to get Ethernet Controller, so now at least can connect to the internet directly. But Windows Update doesn't find drivers for rest of the devices as it did for my ASUS notebook. Drivers and Download Support section for this notebook also isn't very useful, there are basically no drivers at all... So how am I supposed to find them? So annoying.. Dell, is it that hard to list relevant drivers in the downloads?

Apr 8, 2013Frequently have the problem of getting stuck on web pages and having to close out the page and then open it up again. For example, am selling items on ebay and during the listing process - particularly when loading a photo - page freezes and am unable to navigate up or down or click on anything to move out of the page. When I attempt to reload the page the laptop seems to make an effort to do this but with no results. Have been clearing browsing data to see if that works but no luck. I am running Windows 7.

Feb 26, 2013I have a Dell Inspiron N5050. The hard disc of the laptop makes little clicking sound, which can be heard only in silence or if you keep it close to your ear, but yeah it makes those sounds continuously. I bought it last year and I noticed this sound after like 4 months. I have the latest firmware update installed and also checked the hard disc for errors, but that isn't making any effect. It working completely fine. I use it moderately, some Ms office works and a sometimes games too, like about 6 hours a day. No hangs, No high temperature and nothing.
But since I've experienced trouble with the hard disc of a PC (which crashed within days after it started making sounds), i am a little tensed about it. Should i take it to a service center? will a hard disc format be useful. The sound is louder when the device is booting.
I am using windows 7 Home basic SP1 x64, the hard disc is ST 9500325AS 500GB, 2GB RAM.

Mar 22, 2013I recently run into a problem, when I wanted to install my ANNO 1404 game, I inserted the disc into my laptop, but it shows no data, it simply looks to be empty. So I tried it in my desktop PC and there there is everything OK, disc is full, game can be installed. I left it be and after few days I wanted to see a movie, but after inserting the movie DVD into my laptop, I received this error in WMP: "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. In some cases, you can resolve the problem by updating the device driver for your video card." So I'm starting to think my DVD driver is somehow "wrongly set" or something like that. What can I do about it?
My OS is W7 Professional (on desktop too, so OS is not the issue), my laptop is Inspiron 15R SE 7520. Both DVDs (game and movie) are original, no stealing here.

It never got to finish operation. Now it is just coming up with a black screen saying, Windows boot manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change it might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. insert windows installation disc and restart computer (which it will not let me do)2. choose your language settings and then click next 3. click repair your computer
if you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance

After start up even pressing F8 before logo disappears numerous times it will not let me into that menu, so I cant access start up in safe mode or last known good configuration. No matter what I do it will not go past the above message on screen.
