Dell Inspiron 3521 :: Black Screen With One Bright Spot When Close / Open Lid

I am having an issue with the screen of my laptop. had bought the laptop jus 3 days back.. :( the problem I am facing is that... once I close my lid and open in in a few seconds, it still gives me a blck scree which does not respond. however If the let the lid be closed for a longer period life 10 sec it works normally. Previously today I experienced an other issue, that was, once I closed the lid and opened it back, it gave me a black screen with one bright spot. bt this was gone after pressing the power button a few times.

I have recently noticed a bright tiny white spot on my dell 3521 laptop screen. It is not at least 06 months since I bought it. I wiped off the screen but still it remains.

Yesterday I have noticed a problem with the display in my X220 (type 4290-W1B). There is a small, white spot (about 1 mm diameter), clearly visible on the screen. It doesn't look like a normal bad pixel, but like a problem with the background light, or something. It is not visible when black color is displayed. The laptop was bought about 3 months ago and everything was OK until yesterday.
I have attached some pictures of this dot, but it is difficult to capture it with the camera (it is much more visible in real). I have marked the spot (it is in the middle of the circle). The pics are in high resolution so you can zoom in.
What should I do now? I have heard , that the Lenovo bad pixel policy is 3 bad pixel per display...

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3521 and whenever im idle or i close my computer, it would not wake up but instead show me a black screen. Every single time i have to hard reset my computer.

Suddenly my laptop lid broke on one of the ends. The was not supported on one end. I was unable to close or open the lid..
Dell says, limited warranty is not covered for this issue....

For the past few months I've had issues with my display on my laptop. At times I would start the computer and it would either go to a black screen and take a very long time to load or I had to restart it to get it to go to the start screen.

Frequently have the problem of getting stuck on web pages and having to close out the page and then open it up again. For example, am selling items on ebay and during the listing process - particularly when loading a photo - page freezes and am unable to navigate up or down or click on anything to move out of the page. When I attempt to reload the page the laptop seems to make an effort to do this but with no results. Have been clearing browsing data to see if that works but no luck. I am running Windows 7.

My USB ports are black as well. I have an older printer and got message saying it should be plugged into a 2.0 port. So I tried the one on the right. My computer is windows 8.1 Inspiron 3521.

I left the laptop on, I closed the lid, then I opened it again, but the display isn't coming back up.

I've noticed that the screen doesn't seem to be evenly lit. For example when I set the desktop background to black, it looks pretty black at the top of the screen, but as I look further down towards the bottom it turns almost medium gray/blue-ish.
I've tried all brightness, contrast and gamma settings with no luck.
Has anyone else seen this problem, and is it a reason for sending back the laptop? Or is this something "you get" for buying a lower-end laptop like the 1545?

Why my screen dims before I login. I got this new laptop and it loads up it's bright then it dims before I login. I tried updating the video drivers it came bright again. It ask me to reboot. The same problem before I login. It doesn't matter if it's plug in or on battery.

Recently, my Blackbook has had some troubles when I close the lid. What happens is the light never starts pulsing, and the laptop gets really warm and the fan goes crazy. When I open the lid, the screen stays black. When I reboot it, It shows the grey screen, goes black for a sec, then restarts. I tried reseting the pram, but it didnt help.

I switched from using a VGA to an HDMI cable to link my external monitor to my laptop.
When I close the lid and open it back up, my laptop has no display and my desktop moves over to the External Display. The only way I get it back on my laptop display is to use the function button which just clones it and I would have to use the ATI Catalyst Control Center to get it back to normal again. I opened up Catalyst and closed the lid and I tried opening it back up. It then shows my Laptop display is disabled. Everytime I close and open the lid, it gets disabled.

Just bought the 3521 Inspiron touch screen. Two questions:Does the touch screen require a screen protector? Many different answers. Would like your opinion!The outside cover shows fingerprints (even with clean hands). Can the outside cover be replaced to a different color or type (that doesn't show fingerprints)?

I ordered Dell Inspiron 15 3521 (with Intel Celeron 1007U) online when the website said this has optical touchscreen capabilities. But when I got it (2 days ago), the touchscreen is not working and I don't think it was installed on the laptop. Will Dell exchange the laptop for the tochscreen free of charge?

I have 2 units of dell inspiron but i forgot the exact model unit maybe 1564 or 1654. my problem is that both of unit are broken. im happy that i use my units for about 5 years. both of unit are broken, the one unit was running but its not open the screen. and the other one is when i turn it on there`s something beeping 5-10 continuous beeping 2 times in everytime i open it. but the unit were not open. i cant retrive my files on my unit..

A few days ago I fired up my dv6 Pavilion 3240us and it did something weird. The colors are sort of out of whack. Bright white area show as Cyan and dark areas (black) are a sort of Burgundy or deep red. I can adjust the contrast down a little and the brightness down to -13 and the cyan mostly goes away, but the dark areas are even more more red.
I update the Catalyst app and drivers and did a complete update of Windows 7 (which took around 24 hours and it still wants more time) to no avail.
How did it happen? One day it was working perfectly and it shut down normally. The next day it was screwed up. Nothing happened to the machine between those times. I would show you pictures but I've found that screenshots of it look normal on other machines, eg: my desktop.
At one point yesterday when I tried playing a game on it the problen suddenly cleared up. That lasted for a few minutes before reverting the the screwed up state.
I am writing this on it; it does work. But trying to look at videos or most pictures or games it looks really wild, many times too strange to see what's going on.

After having my XPS 13 for a couple of months I have noticed a bright blemish appearing on the screen.
It remains in the same place regardless of screen aspect so it seems to be the screen itself rather than a software/driver issue.
Rather than being one bright pixel it appears as an indistinct and irregular bright patch roughly in the middle of the screen.

What is happening with the laptop, sometimes I noticed my laptop screen will flicker(or a bright flash as if someone was taking a picture). When I go to the event viewer it tells me Desktop windows service manager has been disabled by the windows system assessment tool. I'I have the nvidia graphics card + Intel(using optimus technology),running windows 7 professional 64 bit.
I forgot to mention when playing videos I think the graphic card makes a strange noise like there isn't enough power or something (Not 100% sure)
I have nvidia gt555 with intel Optimus
Intel 2670m
8GB of RAM
Windows 7 professional
I tried to do a fresh install of windows 7 but the problem still persists and I cannot test it since I have deleted the recovery Drive. How do I test if the graphics card is working properly

I need a notebook for outside in the sun use. Between 14"-16" that has a very BRIGHT screen. I've tried the Envy 15 w/Matte and it's too dim. Would you recommend the new EliteBook 8540w or 8440w? Do these have really bright screens that are good for outside use? I need good battery life too.
