After turning on the laptop, the CD/DVD drive doesn't work though I push eject button and I can't insert a CD / DVD, but after executing "run test" from Pc checkup / My Dell support center it works ( ejects for inserting CD /DVD ) - The Drive is TSSD corp DVD +-RW SU-208 BB.
I have called Dell technical support for 2 times and even they updated the bois ,.... but still I have the problem.
I got an inspiron 11 on Friday. I started noticing that sometimes the touchscreen wouldn't work correctly. Sometimes It takes a few taps to register a touch, other times it just quits working for a few seconds. This makes it hard to do anything, and makes it completely impossible to play any touchscreen games.
After a couple days, I finally figured out that It was on battery power that I had the problems. When plugged in the touchscreen works perfectly.
I have downloaded all the dell upgrades, and windows upgrades. I've also tried to turn off all the battery saving options I could find. Under power options advanced screen I changed every option to the same for plugged in and on battery. I turned off the option for dells power saving features. In device manager I took away windows ability to put usb hub asleep. There Is probably more I'm forgetting. Basically everywhere I seen a difference between battery and plugged in, i changed.
It passes all the hardware checks, both through dell software, and on the bootup hardware check.
I use this in tablet mode 90% of the time. And returning it to laptop mode to use touchpad/keyboard just isn't acceptable
When I run this utility it doesn't work. It acts like it's doing something but then it doesn't. What is the solution so I can use this tool?
I have an Inspiron 15R 5521.
I'm experiencing some problems with my brand new laptop. In fact, for some reasons, sometimes when i turn on my computer and i try to open my DVD drive it won't open. I have to restart my laptop to do so again with no problems.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThe battery of my inspiron N5110 is 100% charged but my lap doesn’t turn on without the AC adapter, I checked it in the dell support center and it says its working fine but the battery led blinks 4 times red and 1 withe. If I disconnect the AC adapter the lap turns off. Everything else is fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I boot up my Dell XPS 12 laptop the keyboard doesn't work correctly. Certain keys don't type letters, sorta like the CTRL key or Windows key is stuck down. I have tried a lot of different things (pressing various keys, checking system logs, check keyboard status, etc.) and the only thing that works is to reboot the laptop. Most of the time this fixes the problem, but it is annoying to have to reboot when this happens. I have upgraded the drivers to the latest versions available on the Dell website.

HP HDX16 with P7350. In CPU-Z I see core speed 1595.8 I'm observing and it changes to 1595.9 and then 1596.0 and then 1596.1 and then shoots up to 1995.0 - I have never seen it reach 2.0 and never go down below 1595. When processor speed changes I can here problems with sound while listening to music.
Another thing is the Bus speed, which is fixed at 266.0mhx, isn't it supposed to be 1066?

This computer is 6 months old. It came with Windows 7, and I did install Windows 8 in October 2012. I have had problems ever since and neither Dell nor Microsoft can support. ANYWAY, until today, my DVD/CD player worked just fine. I used it every few days, but today when I went to use it, the door would not open. I notice the light next to the Open button is not lit up, but my device manager says it is in working order and the driver is updated.
I tried Ejecting from the device manager, but it does not work. When I ran the Dell Diagnostics program, it said that it was unable to run the diagnostics when there is media in the drive or the door is open. There is a game disc in the drive, and the game works, but I think it is downloaded onto the computer, so maybe does not use the disc during play?? How can the drive work and not the door? Is there anything I can do??
I have a cannon Pixma MX870 printer which works very well with my Inspiron 530 desktop (windows vista), but my Inspiron laptop 1545 (windows 7) is not able to scan, nor can I do it from the display on the front of the printer.

Today when I booted up my laptop, it shows the Dell logo and goes to a screen that only shows me a few things. It says "Boot mode is set to:UEFI; Secure boot:ON" Then there are two categories, "UEFI BOOT: Network" and "OTHER OPTIONS: Setup, Diagnostics, Change boot mode settings" I ran the diagnostics in ePSA and it said there's something wrong with the video card. It gives error 2000-0332 - "Video memory -Video memory integrity test discrepancy"... when I searched for this code, it said the solution is "Flash latest BIOS, retry diagnostics."
For some reason my Dell INSPIRON N5110 is not booting up correctly. When I start it up the screen remains black for some time and starts to beep 4 times. I did do my research and knw that it is a read / write RAM error according to the beep code table for dell laptops. I did attempt to change the RAM sticks but it didnt work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Inspiron 5521 with ubuntu pre-installed, I shifted it to windows 7 OS and also updated the BIOS in the driver installing process,Before I updated the BIOS my Brightness was working fine meaning I can low the it down while on battery and use high settings on AC mode but after I updated the BIOS I could not do this feature any more....when I go to Power Options to adjust it manually the Scroll bar there doesn't do a thing, even if I low it down or take it to full settings.

Once in a while it detects but then goes off again. I've had this laptop for the best part of two months now and it has been excellent up to now. However, it has now shut down completely 4 times within the same day - with absolutely no warning. It doesn't feel as if it has overheated but I'm only touching the outer shell.

I feel it was something from inside hardware because it is not turning on by pushing on button and tried to charge him but charging light did not on but adapter light was on that means adapter is fine. When I try to boot it, it starts to boot (audibly you can hear the internal systems starting to go) but the screen stays black and after about 5 seconds, it starts beeping. It beeps continuously approximately once every 2-2.5 seconds, and I have counted up to about 30 beeps (it didn't stop beeping, it was just doing my head in).
It started about six months ago, doing it once when I tried to boot it, but pulling the battery fixed it. However, it got progressively worse until one night it simply wouldn't boot at all. A short-term fix was to mash F4 or F9 once the power button was pressed, but now even that doesn't work. I think it might be something in the boot sequence that causes it to fail...

Can he downgrade the OS to Windows 7(64Bit)? as he has some issues with certain software, which according to the developers won't work on Windows 8. Will the warranty be void if the system is formatted and Windows 7 is installed. Is there any option to go in for a dual boot with Windows 8 and Windows 7. As per the support center, they do not recommend dual booting on a Windows 8 system.
