For some reason my Dell INSPIRON N5110 is not booting up correctly. When I start it up the screen remains black for some time and starts to beep 4 times. I did do my research and knw that it is a read / write RAM error according to the beep code table for dell laptops. I did attempt to change the RAM sticks but it didnt work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron N5110 beeps 5 times for 5 times in a row when I boot up my computer. I ran a system scan everything passed except it said to launch window memory test.
Did that and it also said it passed. I did a code search and have not been able to fing anything with 5 beeps, 5 times in a row.
Yesterday the laptops wifi adapter stopped working.. Then after sometime the laptop started to give 5 beeps on startup.. The beeps continued even after Windows was running.. And now the computer doesn't turn on.. The fan and stuff turns on but nothing is displayed on the screen.. Also there are no beeps anymore!

Today when I booted up my laptop, it shows the Dell logo and goes to a screen that only shows me a few things. It says "Boot mode is set to:UEFI; Secure boot:ON" Then there are two categories, "UEFI BOOT: Network" and "OTHER OPTIONS: Setup, Diagnostics, Change boot mode settings" I ran the diagnostics in ePSA and it said there's something wrong with the video card. It gives error 2000-0332 - "Video memory -Video memory integrity test discrepancy"... when I searched for this code, it said the solution is "Flash latest BIOS, retry diagnostics."
I have a Dell Inspiron 1454 which when you press the power button it whirrs slightly (think it's the fan) before doing nothing else except having a blank screen and a white light indicating power to the laptop (solid white). My OS is Win 7 and I've had the laptop a few years now. So far I've tried the following:-
Pressing the D button while powering on to test the display - this works as I get the coloured screens so It can't be a screen fault.
Pressing the FN key whilst powering on to get the POST code - this is seven beeps continuously which seems to common and has to do with the CPU cache?
Tried the obvious removing battery, holing power button for 1 minute to discharge any residual power. Also removed the CMOS battery and put it back in again.
Also tried plugging in an external monitor but nothing showed up. Is it something to do with it being stuck in hibernation?
I have the 7 beeps when trying to startup my Inspiron M5030.

View 15 Replies View RelatedMy Inspiron 1525 makes long beeps when booting , and it even restarts before booting to windows recently I installed ubuntu linux .the keyboard is going on typing " ^.I am not able to discover what key it is .I hit some random keys, and the thing works...Most of the time hitting the TAB key few times before the boot sequence seems to work.

I have a dell 5010 and it went black screen as I was using it. I powered it down by holding the power button and then tried to rebot. The laptop power led goes on, the hard drive led flickers once and the fan goes on but slow. The screen stays black and the laptop does not booth. It then sometimes bleeps times over and over. Is it dead? How can I fix this or at least recover the data in the hard drive?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen turning on the computer, I press the start button and I get the black screen with the words "Starting Windows" in the middle of the screen. As soon as the "Starting Windows" appears, the computer begins to beep continuously with short but fast-paced beeps. The beeping continues until the colored Windows Logo appears above the white words "Starting Windows" and then the beeping stops. The computer completes its start up and seems to operate normally. I did not time the beeping but I counted about 270 beeps. None of the keyboard keys seem to be stuck. I did remove and replace the battery which seemed to fix the problem on the very next start-up but when I shut the computer down and started it up the second time the beeping problem returned.

My dell Inspiron N5110 Beeps 5 times, stop, 5 beeps,stop then the windows open normally and every thing is fine. However i changed the coin cell battery twice and nothing change still beeps. So i updated the BIOS but unfortunately didn't work. More over i did a system restore to a windows update a week ago also still beeps at startup.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Inspiron N7010 was working fine until 2 days ago. I had it playing a movie through the HDMI port to my TV & then the video started to freeze up. Starting the next day, when I tried to start it up, it beeps 8 times & goes to a black screen, then eventually it turns off. I opened it up & re-seated the CMOS battery & checked all the ribbons. Tried holding the "d" key while powering on, the screen cycles through the colors & then goes black & powers off. Tried connecting to 2 different external monitors, could not get a picture on either.

Like others have said about their M5010's mine is a little over 2 years old and out of warranty.
My laptop is not booting and the screen is two tones of grey when I try to boot.
I was working on it and left it alone for an hour and when I came back the screen was grey and have not since been able to get it to shut down or start up.
I get 7 beeps after I click the power button. my options but I understand this might mean a processor issue? I am fairly handy so is this something I could do myself if I purchase parts? My laptop is NOT under warranty.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Dell N5110 is about 14 months old - Windows 7, 650GB HD, 8GB RAM (originally 6GB before I upgraded the memory chip). Up until about 2/2/13, I was able to turn it on, put it in hibernation, etc., but suddenly, I could not turn it on (I had it plugged in overnight, perhaps it was in Sleep mode). I saw no lights, no beeps, no black screen as described by others - just empty screen, no power, nothing.
I waited over a week before I decided to bring it in to get service (my schedule didn't permit me to do so earlier). In the meantime, I kept trying everyday to get it work - I removed the battery, I reseated the memory chips, I clicked the power button on for multiple times, held it down for 30+ seconds, clicked every key on the keyboard, used two different power adapters (one had a blue light to indicate that it was powered), tried to used the AC adapter without a battery, all to no avail.
Eight days after the initial discovery (and a few days before I had planned to bring it in), I tried once more - removed the battery, reseated the memory chips, et. al. and then clicked the power switch (did not use a power supply). Unbelievably, IT TURNED ON! I was so shocked that I immediately took all of my personal information right off and did not turn it off again until I had cleaned the hard drive off. I reluctantly shut down the PC and was able to restart it again! And it was working fine until just this past Friday (3/29/13) where it is now dead again. I think that it went into sleep mode as I just closed the monitor and I saw the lights go off.
I have a feeling that my machine went into sleep mode and it still "thinks" it is sleeping and it can't be turned back on. Perhaps what I saw earlier was the complete draining of the power resources which rendered the machine completely cold so it was able to restart? Was there a Microsoft service release that could have caused this to happen? I have not changed my power settings to prevent the machine from sleeping but if I can get it restarted again, I will definitely change the setting.
I've just dropped my laptop (dell inspirion n5110) while it was on (about a feet) and now it's beeping. I also noticed that the bottom left of the screen disattached, but I was able to put it back in. I understand that 8 beeps mean LCD failure. I've tried to do the test run by pressing "D" but nothing shows up, only a white screen.

It was working properly, but suddenly it went off and when i restarted it, there was nothing which appeared on screen, but there was a beep sound which went on until i turned my laptop off. Even the startup screen didnt appeared during this. The power button lights up, fan is running, but the screen is not coming up.
I have noticed one thing also, if i put it on for long time, so that it gains enough heat due to constatnt running and then I restart it, the screen will come. and after sometime, the screen distorts and after few seconds, the laptop screen turns black and the beep sound appears which start crying until i turn laptop off.
I have a dell inspiron n5110 and it randomly gives me 5 beeps and they repeat and small intervals. Now after some research I found out that the five beeps indicate problem with the CMOS battery, Am I right? And if so then why don't the beeps stick, why do they only happen at random? Why do they go away by restarting the system?I'm just wondering if this really is the battery or something else? And If I should replace it.
