I'm thinking of buying a new 256GB SSD for my Windows 8 and music files, documents, steam games, etc. But I'm somewhat hesitant because I don't want to lose all of the data and reinstall games. How would I move my OS over to a SSD without losing everything on my hard drive? And is 256GB enough for these staffs?

First i shrink my OS partition and I make other DATA partition. After reinstalling windows I could not access my DATA partition.
I don't know why my data partition become OEM partition.
that is my query, does the OS slow down if you put everything on C:/, is it even called C:/ in OS X?

When i went through many review sites, they mentioned it has 8GB SSHD. But there is nothing mentioned such as SSHD on System configuration when i checked in the PC.
I have no comlaints with the performance yet may be because i have not used enough. But then how is the machine so fast and wakes up in second if its not an ultrabook and has not any SSHD in it?
I just received my new Inspiron 13 7000 series after much waiting... First use, all goes well, I set up windows 8.1 without any problems, look around, install a few software like google chrome, vlc player. All goes well.
But then, I shut it down and go run some errands, and when I come back it won't turn on anymore. The the LED on my charger is on but the one on the laptop isn't. what I could do?
I have a dell laptop computer (Inspiron 13 (7347, Mid 2014)). I tried to restore the win8 to a point but it failed. Now it can not start windows 8. "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We are just collecting some error info, and then we will restart for you". My computer was restarted again and again but the problem is still exist. View 2 Replies View RelatedI just returned my previous Inspiron 13 model 7347 (the i5) because of screen flickering thinking I had a bad computer. The replacement is doing the same thing.
On battery the screen will flicker every 10 seconds or so. It is especially noticeable when the brightness is turned all the way down. I have tried going into the Intel HD graphics control panel and disabling the display power saving technology. I have also gone into Power Options and disabled adaptive brightness. I even went into the Dell extended battery life options and disabled Dell Intelligent Display. Nothing has worked. The screen still flickers and it is quite annoying. This is the second computer doing this in 4 days. I don't want to go back and return the second laptop if I don't have to.
I just picked up an Inspiron 13 Signature Edition from the Microsoft Store. Pretty decent hardware so far. This is the model with Core i5, 8 GB RAM and 1080p screen, and was only CAD$699+tax after a $100 discount.
I noticed in store that I could not find any options to change touchpad behaviour in detail. Specifically I would like to disable single tap to click (considering this touchpad can press-click I'd rather not accidentally tap-click). I would also love it if I could have the gesture working where triple-tap is like a middle mouse button press.the non-Signature edition of this unit comes with Dell's touchpad driver and all I'd have to do is get the driver from Dell. However when I entered the service tag into Dell's site I did not find a Touchpad driver. I found one from Synaptics for its smaller cousin the Inspiron 11 and guessed it might be the same pad but I could not get the driver to work successfully.
I have had my Inspiron 7347 for a few days. When operating on the battery, the touchpad exhibits some quirks that make this P:C extremely hard to use as a portable laptop.
The mouse on the touchpad hangs up intermittently, sometimes for several seconds. This erratic behavior makes using the mouse terribly difficult.
When scrolling using the mouse on a vertical scroll bar, the right click menu for the desktop keeps popping up. I must move the mouse away from the scroll bar, left click to get rid of the right click menu, and return the mouse to the scroll bar. Sometimes this behavior is constant when scrolling through a long page, making it impossible to use the mouse to scroll.
Brand new Inspiron 13 7000 (7347) 2 in 1. Its just out of the box, and I'm just finishing windows updates and Dell Drivers.I seem to be getting this error message when I boot up, maybe 10-15 % of the time"AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined"..As with others, Press F1 to continue, F2 to check Bios, F3 to ignore this.In bios I see <unknown power adpater> I unplug and replug the power supply and it magically comes back as <65 watts>
When this issue is occuring, the battery won't charge, it held at 91%. I also got the warning in Windows one time.Is this just the power supply, or the laptop itself ?
I replaced HDD with SSD on my new 7347, and then did a clean install of "Windows 8.1 Enterprise N" in order to be able to run Hyper-V virtual systems. I have applied all Windows 8.1 updates and installed Dell 7347 drivers and updated the BIOS to A03. All is working except screen auto rotation.The Device Manager indicates that HID Sensor Collection has a driver problem and cannot start as shown below:
Clicking on the HID Sensor Collection shows the unable to start (Code 10) issue.Is there some other DELL driver I need to install? I have tried running Windows 8.1 Troubleshooting app and it shows this: I have also run the DELL Support "System Analysis" option as shown below and it loops on requesting me to install the 7347_Chipset_Driver_NDGM4_WN_9.5.22.1760_A00 driver which I have done multiple times.

Home basic sp1 installed and the Vista reinstallation DVD.
The first partition has 240GB and the 2ed 10 which is recovery.I want to format and repartition so it will have 2 partition 120 each.
Can make a clean installatioon from that DVD?
Do i need the recovery partition or can i delete it?
Any other tips on how to install on a notebook will be welcomed since this is my first one.
I formatted my HDD and now every time I try to install Windows 7 it says Missing Boot Manager!! Is there a certain sequence I need to go through to attempt this as in HDD Password?

I tried pressing f8 and control+f11 but neither of those work. I also tried reinstalling my windows 7 but after it says "starting windows" it just goes to a black screen with a curser. I'd like to create a factory backup disk to the Dell laptop that I recently aquired (Inspiron 14). I want to save this factory backup on an external WD flash drive (that has 500GB). This disk contains, already 100GB of other personal data.
My question is: will the process of creating factory disk delete all other data on that drive (I don't want that to happend of course) or it will create the Image disk in addition to the other data the in this disk?? Dell's wizard said that the factory data requires only 9.2GB so there's plenty of space for all the data together.
I recently run into a problem, when I wanted to install my ANNO 1404 game, I inserted the disc into my laptop, but it shows no data, it simply looks to be empty. So I tried it in my desktop PC and there there is everything OK, disc is full, game can be installed. I left it be and after few days I wanted to see a movie, but after inserting the movie DVD into my laptop, I received this error in WMP: "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. In some cases, you can resolve the problem by updating the device driver for your video card." So I'm starting to think my DVD driver is somehow "wrongly set" or something like that. What can I do about it?
My OS is W7 Professional (on desktop too, so OS is not the issue), my laptop is Inspiron 15R SE 7520. Both DVDs (game and movie) are original, no stealing here.
