I bought a new Dell Latitude E6230. When I'm trying to configure smart card login, I think the Pre-Windows password set wrongly.I didn't notice how this password apply and what password is set.
Now, when I turn on my computer System show #47ZPWW1-1D3B and asking password.Could I reset or remove System or administrator password ?
recently i enrolled fingerprint for windows login, but during the enrolment there is no prompting for Pre-Windows Password. But then, when i want to disabled the fingerprint at Pre-Windows or Windows login, it requested for Pre-Windows password.
what is the default? Pre-Windows login password?
I faced big problem to swipe my finger during booting up the windows (Pre-Windows Login Screen)
I can not change the pre-Windows password.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the past we've restrict the boot options on our laptops vis bios sequence to prevent unauthorised reimaging of machines. However I've just noticed our newest Latitude e6230 still list all the devices as available despite these settings. Screenshots attached.

I really don't want to tear this laptop down & solder two leads to the 24c02 chip & short them together, even though I am A+ certified & an electronic technician.
This laptop has no service tag, old but worth saving because dim b has a 2gb stick of memory so, somewhere inside there's another & so it should be worth some effort to save.
The bottom line is: whoever designed that chip (24c02) is a genus, now how mush will it cost to unlock it ?
My son added an administrator or logon password to my HP Pavilion g7 notebook. I know the password but I want to remove this option from the computer so that I dont have to input the password everytime I turn on the computer. I called HP but my warranty expired about 2 months ago.

The password authentication system wont boot the laptop up until we enter the correct password... I have tried all the combinations that we thought the password is or was, but have not had any luck --- that being said the laptop is registered to me/ owned by me --- Can I provide the computer system tag -- that is shown on the screen and getting a reset password to overcome this obstacle.... The service tag is in my profile information and the computer system tag on the laptop bios password sign in screen is B*B*H*1-595B... and hence I removed all the Bluetooth related devices in the Device Manager. But now when I try to install the drivers, I get this message -
Code:
"Please uninstall current Bluetooth installation before continuing"
I have tried to remove it from where ever I could find it, I renamed the default Windows Vista drivers so that they are not loaded.
There is no mention of Bluetooth anywhere now, but the DELL driver file still gives me that error!

I recently set an HDD password on my W510. Now I would like to disable it again.
Unfortunatly the option to set the password is now inactive in the BIOS: It says "Hard Disk1 Password [User]", but I cannot select the option in order to change it. This appears to be a bug. I once had a T61, where changing the password was no problem.
I would really like to get rid of the password again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the DV9000 series Laptop. It is the DV9235NR model (but not the DV9200 series...shows DV9000 on the bottom).
Anyways...I decided to try to upgrade the interal wireless G with a wireless N card that is from HP. It has the HP part number and everything. When I put the card in, this error comes up. I read that the bios doesn't recongnize the card. I took the card out, booted up to Windows with my old wireless card, put the computer in sleep mode, took out the old card and put the new card in. Works perfect. I know the card it good.
How can I make the new card work without having to do this? I heard about a bios hack. How is this done? Could I modify the Wifi card also? I did update to the newest bios on my laptop (dated 2008) and that didn't work. How about a bios from another series laptop?
