a list of all the emails of the high level execs at dell, for which to send a complaint too. I think it was Mastershroom?
But anyone have that list, or at least good emails to send a lengthy complaint to?
My latest odyssey with Dell has lasted over 3 weeks and ended in utter disappointment; the experience has been both frustrating and time consuming, but I notice it's not all that dissimilar to some experiences others have posted about, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
On 11/24 I ordered a Studio 1737 with an estimated ship date of 12/5. As has been the case for many others, Dell generated a separate order for the Bluetooth module, and like many others I found this frustrating and nonsensical, but I didn't rush to judgment immediately, I decided I'd wait and see if they actually shipped it separately and uninstalled.
Of course, they did, and I received the component on 12/8. I filled out the return request form and asked for an RMA for the component, because I placed the order with the expectation it would be installed professionally. The response I received essentially excused the practice that caused the module to be shipped separately with no disclaimer, and denied me an RMA for the module. They wouldn't let me return it. I went back and forth with this guy for a week, exchanging 6 emails total, each one explaining my disappointment in greater detail than the last. After 6 emails, I still have not received an RMA. Each email merely deflected my concerns and ignored my original request by assuring me not only that I would receive my system and I would be overwhelmingly satisfied, but that he would personally see that the order was expedited.
I fell for this, until last friday, 12/12, when Dell notified me that my order had been delayed for a second time and required my consent to be processed; I logged into the order status site as the email required to provide consent, and then shot an admittedly discourteous email back to the guy who'd been feeding me disinformation for a week to avoid giving me an RMA for a lousy $20 part that plainly wasn't delivered in the condition I expected (I was really annoyed). On Monday, 12/15, I received a response for him, this time assuring me that the system would ship within 24 hours. This pacified me until about an hour later, when I received the email from Dell finally canceling my order completely.
I responded one last time (much more composed and gracious) to tell him I was receiving conflicting information regarding the order status, and to ask which was accurate. This morning, 12/16, I received a terse response from his manager telling me that the order had been canceled "due to unavoidable reasons", suggested that I contact the sales department to have my order reinstated, and asked that I reply to him if I still want an RMA for the bluetooth module (a line his subordinate fed me before, to which I responded in the affirmative).
What do you think I filled out the return request form for, or all the emails I wrote requesting a return?
I'm completely bewildered. I've wasted enough time talking to these people, and I don't intend to continue. I don't even care about returning the thing anymore. The frustration and time lost towers over the lousy $20 lost on the bluetooth module.
All this is added to the fact that Dell delayed my order twice, then canceled it blaming the federal mail order rule, despite the fact that I followed their instructions to prevent that. I don't know where to begin.
I'd like to send a letter detailing this experience detailing my frustration to Dell, on the off chance that someone there is even the slightest bit interested in customer service (then I plan on meditating for about a week and exiling this experience from my mind completely.) I just don't know where, if anywhere, to direct my complaint (the returns department obviously isn't the place, since they don't even know what to do about returns).
They didn't charge me for the system they canceled, only for the bluetooth module that should have been canceled with the system, but if I go through all the hoops they want me to to recover the lousy $20 I'll lose my mind, so it's not about money. I basically want to give them a piece of my mind, cut my losses, and be done with it. Any advice?
So I have this complaint I want to direct to Sony...should I type it our formally and send it in to see if I get any compensation ( etc etc..) ?
On Boxing day, I was working during the whole day, so my dad went to buy my laptop for me from the Sony Style Store (In Canada). I don't know what happened, but when I got home from work I saw my nice new-looking Sony CR series. I turn it on and quickly test it out...The problem is, it went straight to a log in screen with a random name "Naver". I signed on (First time using vista)... and all the timezones were set to Toronto etc.. and files were still on there.
I ask my dad and brother (who was also there) if the laptop was new. They said that the Rep that helped them said that it was BRAND NEW, and that it was a GOOD DEAL because it was like 200$ off from the original price.... (which is why they bought it, cause the specs are good for its price)...
The next day, I go back to Sony Style and find that Representative, I quickly explain to him whats happening with the laptop and if its really NEW. He QUICKLY apologizes and says that it was really a OPEN BOX laptop (which explains why it had another persons files etc etc.) So I asked if there were any more of these in Vancouver that I can swap or exchange or something (because this had some small wear and tear scratch lines on the inside). And he searched one up at another Sony Style. My dad goes and picks it up while i'm at work and I inspect it when I get home. This one was even worse, it had even more scratches, and was dirtier than the first one. So I obviously returned it the next day and they helped me set up a new windows..............
on my m4400 it seems the fingerprint software is only used to log on to windows.
my girlfriend has an acer with a fingerprint reader, she can use it to log on to websites etc...
does the dell software allow me to do this? or do i have to download some third party software?
what is the difference between a UPEK fingerprint reader and the non upek one? lol... dell has those two options
I have an issue with the keyboard on my new 15z. The cursor seems to have a mind of its own and jumps all over the place while I am composing emails and letters. This happens at random. What is causing this. I have tried disabling the mouse pad and using a USB mouse but the problem persists. I have tried being extremely careful not to touch the arrow keys located in the bottom right hand corner of the keyboard area but the problem continues

Is this just an annoying problem I have now live with or are there other dangers I should be aware of. Is there anything I can do to resolve this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy son has bought me a Dell 15R (5520) laptop. I collect my e mails from Talk Talk via their website and have done this on my old Dell laptop and home computer for many years.
Since I got my new lap top I can not collect my e.mails. As soon as I enter my password the screen goes blank and I can not access my mails.
I have re-tried my old laptop right next to my new lap top (both working on same wireless connection) and it works fine. The mails can also be collected on another laptop no problem
Why is the new laptop not accessing the same page correctly? I have tried changing the internet settings.
Just curious because the rubber feet fell off VERY easily on my ANtec computer cases,
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used Mail for all my Gmail accounts (IMAP) and for each account, Mail created a "folder" called Sent.
EVERY mails that I sent is kept locally in the Sent folder. Problem is, this create a duplicate because now I have TWO copies of the same sent email:

Gmail's "Sent Mail" Folder
how to prevent Mail from keeping this sent mail locally? It's already sync'ed by the Gmail IMAP folder anyway.
I am getting Sending Failed error in mobile every time I try to send something to my Studio 15 from my Nokia N70.
On the other hand, when I try to send a picture from the laptop to mobile, I get Bluetooth device not found error.
However, my Bluetooth mouse is working perfectly fine.
I applies for an ownership change for a precision a couple of weeks back, havent heard from dell.

It happened just by catching the corner of it (the plastic surround, not the lcd) with the back of my hand (it was just a tap for god's sake!) as I went to plug in a memory stick. Brilliant. I guess the screen was weakened for some reason.
Anyway, I know the screen isn't covered by the warranty so I was wondering how much Acer charge to replace the screen? I've looked around and can get a new replacement screen for about £95 and fit it myself but I assume that will void the rest of my warranty? I'm happy to go the DIY route if a screen is far more expensive from Acer.
my laptop model is pavilion g6 2320 tx.The factory installed OS was windows 8 64 bit version.later i updated my os to windows 8.1 64 bit version from windows store.After the updation i cant send any files over the blue tooth to any devices ,but i can receive files from other devices.

AND, I finally gave vent to my DELL'ish' emotions and shot a mail to our very beloved Sir Michael Dell for the following issues –
•Ever falling rubber bumps/guards on the left and right sides of the keyboard
•Continues scratching on the LCD and keys imprinted on it due to 'screen rubbing against keyboard' syndrome;
•Dust behind the LCD plastic cover coating;
•The heat issue;
•And last but not the least the infamous ‘1640 Throttling’.
I got a call from a Senior Dell Marketing person today and had a lengthy half hour talk with him.
I tried pushing for replacement but since I got my DELL XPS 1640 laptop via a friend in U.S of A (I am writing in from India),
who got it delivered to me here, they say this would be possible only if the system reaches back to the starting point in USA, from where DELL can take over (Dear DELL, I really don’t have the luxury of time for all this playing around .....

first, the wifi switch only can turn on the lights of bluetooth,never turn on the wifi light,but wifi looks perfect when I online by my router.
under vista ultimate 64 or vista ultimate 32, I add driver as dell said: chip vedio, erthnet wireless bluetooth, sound etc ....
I was fiddling around with Geektool and looking for different ways to use it and came across an article that says how to make a To Do list that appears on your desktop. The article is here. Anyway, I can't get it to work right. Like the list appears initially but won't update when I update the txt file.

Since reporting them doesn't seem to be working, today I started using the ignore list. Its a little cumbersome to have to go into your user CP to do it but if it improves the experience on the site its worth it. Its a shame to have to do this but it seems to be the only way.

Modifications planned:
- CPU upgrade
- SSD upgrade
- Glossy Premium Carbon LCD Lid, BLACK with BRUSHED PATTERN (just the top part, not the entire bezel)
- Wireless card upgrade
- RAM upgrade
- Optical drive upgrade
- Adding a 3G card slot .....
A lot of the drivers installed by default and using the Sony Update for Vista. But at the same time, some of them are also the
32 bit drivers where you might not see any functionality from them if they even install correctly.
