Feb 12, 2008I'm about to receive a M1530 as a replacement from Dell. If I decide to trade this laptop to another owner for a M1710, what happens to the warranty? I have around 600 days left on it. What happens if the other owner has little time left/no warranty on their M1710? This is quite risky to trade for if it has no warranty/Complete Care right?. Should I find someone that has the same time of warranty/complete care left so it's equal?
Also, if something were to happen to the M1710 and I have the warranty covered, will the replacement be of the form factor of my original system(9100) or the M1710?

Feb 28, 2009I had a question regarding the ownership transfer of a Dell e1705 laptop I recently purchased off eBay. When I went online to transfer the ownership on Dell's website,
I saw that the original owner's name was required. (I know at some point in the past only the service tag and express service code were required) Apparently, the person I bought the laptop from is not the original owner since his name did not match the one on record for the computer.

Feb 22, 2010the screen went black, then returned to the desktop and reported an error with my graphics card’s driver (8600M GT with the latest driver from Nvidia 195.62 or something similar).
This process then repeated and I was confronted with the dreaded BSOD!!
So thinking something had corrupted with the driver, i booted into safe mode and began reinstalling the drivers again.
This all went fine, up until tonight when I was unwittingly enjoying some call of duty and this happened...
The screen juddered for about a second then froze on that image .....

Mar 8, 2009Bought a refurb dell xps m1330 just over 5 months ago from aria.co.uk and the screen has gone.
Works with an external monitor but black screen on the laptop. Has passed the 90 day aria warranty.
Have contacted Dell who tell me from the service tag of the laptop is registered to someone in Norway hence cannot help me

Sep 29, 2009I have a 4 month old Acer Aspire 6920G laptop with a cracked LCD. It happened just by catching the corner of it (the plastic surround, not the lcd) with the back of my hand (it was just a tap for god's sake!) as I went to plug in a memory stick. Brilliant. I guess the screen was weakened for some reason.
Anyway, I know the screen isn't covered by the warranty so I was wondering how much Acer charge to replace the screen? I've looked around and can get a new replacement screen for about £95 and fit it myself but I assume that will void the rest of my warranty? I'm happy to go the DIY route if a screen is far more expensive from Acer.

Oct 24, 2009I bought a Dell laptop back in August of this year and sometime in September I registered my system for a Win 7 upgrade. It seems like everyone has put in their order now but I have yet to receive a notifying email.
I do have the confirmation email back in Sept from Dell.com that confirmed my service tag was registered...but I've heard nothing from then since.

Jan 14, 2015my laptop model is pavilion g6 2320 tx.The factory installed OS was windows 8 64 bit version.later i updated my os to windows 8.1 64 bit version from windows store.After the updation i cant send any files over the blue tooth to any devices ,but i can receive files from other devices.
i tried reinstalling the driver but it didn't solved my problem.what should i do?

I seem to hit two keys simultaneously and it makes the email send. Usually these are the keys g & h and have also seen it happen when connecting with the letter B.

Mar 12, 2010so my gf's macbook just shut down on her last nite while she was writing an email. from then on it wouldnt boot back up. thing is the laptop's fans and hdd spin for about 10 seconds then shut off everytime i press the power button, but nothing on the scree, no chime, no power led. nothing. Laptop and battery charge. Wonder if its really dead.

Dec 5, 2014New HP Pavilion 17-FO61US laptop mail AP worked for a couple of days after adding 2 accounts. But today after going into both accounts and changing some settings, including unclicking sync options, I'm stuck on the 'Add your e-mail accounts' page and can't find how to get back to inbox. Tried restarting, but clicking on mail still brings up same 'Add accounts' page. Start page shows e-mails coming in, so accounts are still there.

Nov 9, 2007I just bought a used dell laptop from a dealer, it wasn't sold with a warranty, but looking up the service tag, I found that there's 6 months left on the warranty.
I don't have the original owner's details, but has anyone had any luck getting Dell to transfer registration in these circumstances? - I understand that they might be cautious, but I'd guess they would have a list of reported stolen tag #'s to check against to prevent crims doing this.
I'd like to get the tag changed so that I can order OS media, but the warranty would be a bonus if it's possible.

Having read many posts on issues with this relatively new interface I contacted Dell and was assured that they were addressed in the new bois.
So I went ahead and purchased a drive with this in mind , but it does not allow data transfer from the computer to the drive ( it will go about 30%-50% of file@29-70 mbps then just stall and the drive disappears.)
