The second day i tried to watch something on youtube and it showed a green screen. I thought it was just the video so i clicked on the next video, it was also green. I turned on my NFL sports videos and same thing there, so i think it may be the Notebook.

Nov 19, 2008I bought the Mini 9 with only 512MB of RAM because Dell wanted $25 for 1GB, which is the price of 2GB. I'm just waiting for prices to drop/rebates before ordering 2GB.
I am running the bloatware infested stock software and I noticed stuttering when playing YouTube videos via IE. IE takes up 50%-70% of CPU time for some odd reason. I fired up my Dimension and my Studio 15 only to find at MOST 20% CPU time using either IE or FireFox.
Does anyone else have the same problem? What did you do to fix it? I plan to do a clean install of XP SP-3 once I get a IDE/USB adapter to run an optical drive

How does that guy with asus 1201n netbook outperform my laptop? I realize my laptop's specs aren't the best, but with flash 10.1 it should be able to handle youtube hd without any problems right?
Acer :: 1810TZ And YouTube 1080p
Jan 4, 2010I've recently purchased an Acer Aspire Timeline 1810TZ. I've removed all the bloatware, updated all drivers (including graphics, chipset, sound) and upgraded to latest BIOS.
It plays 1080p videos stored on the network absolutely perfectly, but it is jerky when playing YouTube 1080p content. It just about handles 720p YouTube. (I've tried both Flash 10 on IE and 10.1 on FF/Chrome). It runs iPlayer HD and Vimeo HD fine.
Has anyone else who has an 1810TZ managed to get YouTube HD working smoothly?
If not, is there anything else I can try and do we think that the final build of Flash 10.1 will improve things? Would a fourth gig of ram help?

Feb 19, 2009Whenever I play HD videos in youtube, they lag a lot on my dv5t. The lagging is even more obvious when it's full screen. I noticed that everytime I play a HD video from youtube, my CPU usage shoots up to more than 90%. Does anyone else have this problem?
My brand new dv5t has a 526 MB GPU, 2.4GHz CPU and 3 gig of RAM. I do have quite a slow internet connection though. But I let the video load completely every time before I play it, I don't see the internet connection is the reason for my problem. And why such high CPU usage?
Dell Inspiron 11 3147 :: Crackling Noises When Play Music From YouTube
Jan 5, 2015I have recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 11 3147. Everything was fine for about an hour (created my MS Windows account, installed some apps, laptop was perfectly quiet), until I decided to play some music from YouTube. The sound was really cracking and from that point the laptop constantly makes quiet buzzing/cracking noise (it does not come from speakers!), just like HDD is reading data very fast or the fan was damaged. Sometimes music is played fine, and sometimes (i dont know what it depends on) sound is crackling even more.
Plus when the computer starts, the fan noise is quite buzzing too.
I don't know what could be the problem since it all started when I played music, I dont know what makes music crackle too! I tried to reinstall sound drivers but I guess it's not the driver, since the buzz is there even when Windows is not loaded.

When I first got the Z and tried some vids on YT it crashed right away (leaving me with a blank screen and awkward noise).
I then did a clean install of windows 7, but no luck, still crashes on youtube 1080p vids.
I really dont understand it, but e.g. Avatar in BD quality (14 gigs) doesnt crash whatsoever.
HP Envy Dv4 Audio :: No Sound Will Play On YouTube
Nov 26, 2014I use my laptop almost everyday, and it has been fine up until today. I have an HP Envy dv4. I rarely shut it down--I usually just close the lid and leave it like that until I'm ready to use it again. Today, when I opened it and logged in, I went to Youtube. However, no sound will play. I didn't have this problem the last time I used the PC, and can't figure out what's wrong. I don't have any sound with headphones plugged in, and I don't have any sound when I try to use just the PC speakers.
I've already made sure the sound is definitely on--I have muted it and unmuted it several times, raised and lowered the volume by using the f9 and f10 keys, and nothing happens. I've tried playing media that is stored on my PC, and no sound there either. I've also tried using Rosetta Stone, and it won't open because it says it can't find any sound output.
I have restarted the computer several times, scanned for viruses, and scanned for updates. Nothing has worked.
Apple :: Embedded YouTube Videos Don't Work On IPhone
Feb 23, 2010I've noticed lately that embedded YouTube videos aren't working in Mobile Safari. Now, I know that the iPhone doesn't have flash, but there is an embedded video player that works with mpg videos (HTML5 sites seem to work fine) as well as YouTube. That way you can just click the video in a website and it will open up the standard video player. But none of those work for me on the iPhone.
I also know that not all YouTube videos are properly encoded for the iPhone. But these are videos that work fine in the YouTube app, their thumbnail just won't load in Mobile Safari for me to click. I get the gray box with the line through the play button instead. What's worse, is there are now sites where this happens that I know for a fact used to work fine. But now I can't get a single embedded YouTube video to work on my iPhone. Is anyone else having this problem? Maybe you could go to a site on your iPhone where the embedded video does work and I can check to show you the problem.
I'm using a 3GS with 3.1.2.

Apr 18, 2014I don't have any sound when viewing Youtube on IE or Firefox. I think it disappeared after a windows xp update (before the Microsoft cut-off date). I still get beeps from the X31 Thinkpad though, just no sound with Youtube or XP on start up for example. By the way Youtube is lagging too since the win xp update -it wasn't before though. I updated all the drivers for the X31 from your Lenovo site but to no avail. I have the latest Flash installed.
Installed Shockwave too Direct X installed - didn't make a difference I think its something to do with the windows xp update cause after that my Thinkpad got stuffed up, Youtube slowed and Soundmax drivers kept disappearing and reappearing. I tried the regedit trick for audio whereby you trick windows into thinking it's service pack 2 (I'm on service pack 3, XP). Also checked Device Manager under audio, no ! marks beside the audio. I tried CCleaner as well. I disabled the video accelerator under settings in Youtube video as well I don't have many 3rd party programs installed on the Thinkpad eg no iTunes, no Skype either.

May 18, 2009an issue I have, regarding video playback. Whenever I watch a video file on my HP DV6T, the playback seems rather grainy.
The video playback seemed much more clearer of a picture on my dv5z, and I am wondering if it has to do with the resolution.
Could this be because of the 16" 1366x768 resolution?
All I want is to be able to watch my movies or video files FULL SCREEN, and in good video quality.

I've been told that I need my video controller working so I can put my computer into standby or hibernate, since that option is not working on my computer.

Dec 12, 2008I'm trying to watch a video that's 1080p and it skips frames. My framerate will stay around 30ish but then every couple of minutes or so will dip down to 7. I would think my specs would be fine... any suggestions? For what it's worth, it's a matroska (.mkv) file and I am trying to run it in VLC media player.

Aug 26, 2009I bought this (used) about a year ago and everything worked fine up until about two weeks ago. At that time I was reading some pages on the Internet and the screen began to flicker then turned black with some vertical green lines. I shut down the computer and then restarted it. Everything worked fine for about an hour and then the process repeated itself. For the last two weeks I have had on and off problems with the laptop working correctly for a while and then crashing.
I tried reinstalling the video driver for the nVidia Quadro NVS 135M from the Dell website and it seemed to work for about 4 to 6 hours and then the D630 crashed again. Next, I tried reinstalling Windows XP Pro and once I had gotten all the updates, I installed the video driver from the Dell website. Everything seemed to be fine so I started reinstalling all the various software programs that were previously installed. With only one or two more programs to install the screen began flickering once again and so I shut the laptop down.
Last night I reinstalled Windows XP Pro again but without reinstalling the video driver, any Windows updates, or anything else and left everything running. This morning the screen appears normal.
My technical skills are very minimal and I have run out of things to try. Now I am wondering if it is possible (or even a good idea) to run the computer without reinstalling the driver for the video card. Is this going to lead to other problems or is it going to frustrate me because the computer will simply run very slowly without a driver for the video card installed?

Nov 4, 2008I'm not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but my CPU maxes out at 100% utilization if I try and play any video what-so-ever (uTube, ABC.com, sling media, etc). It's causing video playback to stutter and is driving me crazy. I try and keep my video drivers at the newer releases - currently I'm using the 180.43 from laptopvideo2go. I also always format and perform a fresh install on the system once or twice a year to keep it running at it's peak. Specs are below:
OS: Vista 32 bit Ultimate SP1
Memory: 2gig
Processor: Intel Pentium M 2.26 ghz
anyone have any thoughts???
