This was the DEMO, not the real game. I hope the game is better optimized than the demo, but for some reason I feel it'll be about the same.

Edit/Update- Got Bioshock running at a smooth 60+FPS. Defrag ur HD and defrag files in Steam, (if u used it 2 get demo).
update-9/3/07- now running all high settings, everything turned on, 1024x768. 20-40FPS- little to no choppiness
I'm getting with my rig with everything turned on LOW at native res (1440 x 900). I am using the recommended 163.44 drivers. This is garbage, isn't there anything I can do to make it better?

i have a Core Duo T2500 2.0ghz processor. ( now old skool ) 2 gigs of ram and the 7900GTX i ran the demo at 1920x1200 with everything on full but turned shadows off. game ran awesome. o yea and its also awesome to play. alot of fun i can see how the full game must be nuts. its scary too. i jumped a few times in the demo.

I can play Obilivion, Bioshock, UT3, and even crysis (1200x800 medium) at good frame rates with good quality visuals turned on. I had previously just accepted that I was stuck with games like doom3 and quake4 only.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell XPS M1530, and have recently joined the HD Television world and bought a Toshiba 40" 40RV525RZ. I was checking out the HDMI feature on the laptop, checking out how I might be able to use the tv as an awesome monitor replacement. Looks great so far!
My problem is that the audio from the TV is slightly out of sync from the audio on my laptop. Considering I can't turn off the audio on my laptop without turning off the audio on the television (at least, if I can I don't know how), it's annoying having the echo effect coming from my TV and the stereo attached to it.
Have Dell Latitude D830 and PPC Phone
In short:
* Bluetooth syncing between PPC mobile phone does not work
* Bluetooth between PPC mobile phone and Dell Laptop pairs
* USB Syncing between mobile phone and Mobile device center works
* Bluetooth syncing between PPC mobile phone prior to system reinstall DID work and worked well.
* Bluetooth mouse was paired first this time and works well.
Problem Details:
I have a windows pocket pc phone that connected to Bluetooth very well with my Dell D830 prior to the crash I had last week. In fact, it worked better with Bluetooth than it did with the USB connection. After receiving a hard drive from Dell with the Vista Dell Basic operating system image on it and set my system up again along with all my programs and downloaded and installed the Mobile Device Center 6.1 from the Microsoft site. I synced pocket PC phone up with usb and had no problems. I set up my bluetooth and it connected with no problems. (I have a Bluetooth mouse that I set up and it works perfectly.) The Mobile Device Center partnership with bluetooth will not work. When I select ActiveSync and select Menu/Sync with Bluetooth, the Mobile center does not recognize the PPC phone. I see no response from the Mobile Device Center at all.

My current dilemma is how to syncronize her long time PC files with her new MBP.
I have read about Dropbox, FolderShare, SugarShare and Syncplicity. Each either has a 2-5GB size limitation or a monthly fee in addition to many unwanted options.
I have roughly 60GB of data that I want to keep in sync...mind you, not all 60GB of data will change every day...but until my wife gets comfortable with Leopard, I want to make sure the PC and the MAC are "in parity" if that makes sense.
I basically want something like rsync (from UNIX/Linux) but it needs to have a gui and be more transparent.

I have a Dell Inspiron desktop that has a couple of files I want to keep in sync with the Macbook Pro.
I have one hurdle already down with Dropbox - I sync my important documents/files between the desktop and the Mac. However, I would really like to have my music synced between the two iTunes libraries as well. I did a quick Google/forum search on the issue but it seems like people haven't arrived at a conclusive answer or it involves programming with rsync, which I'm not familiar with at all.
In preparation for the quite-likely-to-happen-towel-throwing-in, I've recently imported all my photos into iPhoto from PC's.
So I'm going to need to give this a try. Three Macs to start with.
I already own Chronosync and Econ has a good guide for doing the sync in CS.
However, is there a better option? A completely automatic solution like Dropbox?
I bought this new dell XPS 14Z a month back. the optical drive started making "Clicking" noise (sound similar to the one when you click the eject button) . This mainly occurs during booting , while opening itunes or while my sync up is running.
I spoke with the dell tech support and they did replace the optical drive. it didn't fix the issue. I checked in one my friends laptop and could see that it is not occurring .
All the other buttons work, like : mute,hold,arcade delux,etc.
But the volume is not working right.
Calendar and Contacts have their own icons on the Macbook but Notes is no where to be found. I did find a Notes folder in my Mail but nothing seems to Sync even though I clicked the Sync Notes Option in my Itunes.
Why can't something as simple as Notes sync between the Iphone and a Macbook?
iTunes.. I need to stop it from synchronizing the iPod with laptop.
Is there like an option im missing or overseeing?

Originally i had photos from my iphoto synced up to my iphone. This was when i had the original drive on my mbp. Since then i upgraded to a SSD but i didn't restore from time machine. Recently i synced up my phone again to the new machine and since the photo album didn't exist in the new SSD, itunes erased the album. I don't have the photos on the old drive anymore since i formated the drive. Itunes made a backup of the phone before it synced but i looked through the backup and can't find the photos.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis happens when in SLI only, there is ghosting/tearing/i have no idea of some sort. It happens in WoW, Crysis, Crysis WH, and 3dMarkVantage. Doesn't happen in "the Orange Box" or Bioshock. I've reloaded every driver I can find, dell factory image with all microsoft updates, dell factory image no updates, and verified it happens on both the Sharp panel in the system and my Samsung Syncmaster 24". Please help. I'm within my 21 day mark, and I'll probably return it if I can't get it fixed soon. Should probably tell ya, x9000 (stock clock) 4GB, 320HDD, SLI 8800GTX's, Vista 32bit.

I have a Dell Latitude E6530 and when I plugged in my monitor and keyboard into the docking station, they were not recognized. But I can plug them into the laptop while docked and they are recognized.

my laptop vostro 3460 won't boot any more. When I turn it on it loads the Dell logo (I suppose it passes the POST) but then it just shows a black page. It could be anything, but I guess that it may have something to do with Windows 8 and the UEFI system. I also would be quite happy to install linux mint and get rid of Windows, but I don't know how to change the boot priority order.
So my questions are:
1 is it a hardware issue ? if not, can I solve my problem easily ?

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen i first got my dell inspiron and it was all good. when i set the monitor to shut off after 1 minute of being idle, it did and would not turn on unless someone moved the mouse of pressed a button. however, after i reformatted, the computer monitor would shut off after 1 min but soon afterwards it turns on again by itself, then it goes off again, then it remains on permanently. i recently formatted my laptop again and this problem persists. anyone knows whats sup? im using xp ftw... and my configurations are the same as it was before the reformats so idk whats wrong.
