I have a new XPS 12 and has been working fine until today, I lost the cursor for a while. When that came back, I can no longer click (left or right) anything. HAVE to use touch screen. I use mostly as laptop rather than tablet, so would rather get my click back!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently purchases a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 540 and it worked just fine untill earlyer today.While i was browsing the internet, some how my touchpad developed a problem.It only registeres right click where ever i click.I've deleted the drivers, even tho they were the knewest ones, downloaded a fresh .exe and installed it after the reset and what not and it still has the same problem.
If i turn off the touchpad in the ultranav software and enable only trackapad, the buttons work like they should, the large area in the touchpad registeres as the left click and the small area in the top right is registered as the right click. Tho i can't use the touchpad for navigation.So clicking doesn't works, well neither does tapping. I can doubletap normaly, but i cannot tap and drag such as selecting a block of text.
Again, i've already tried a fresh install of ultranav drivers and it didn't work. The problem manifested itself during normal browsing, nothing was installed nor changed hardware vise. It litteraly changed in a second.how to solve it since the driver reinstall didn't work.
Is there any way how to "charge" battery to its designed capacity?
My battery is 2 years old and I was wondering if there is any way how to "renew" it (except buy new one)?
Is there a BIOS limitation on the 5160 for HDD capacity? I had to replace the drive and it is seeing a 160G drive as 70G.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a photographer, and bought an XPS 15 9630 to do my photo editing. The machine came with the 30Gb mSATA and 1Tb HDD, which wasn't nearly enough for my needs. I've successfully fitted a Samsung 1Tb mSATA, but I would like to upgrade the other drive also. At the moment I have 2 1Tb hard disks, and 2Tb total storage. (After a fair bit of fiddling in BIOS)
I have a Seagate Spinpoint M9T 2Tb disk which I would like to use,but when I fit it, it didn't show up in the BIOS or O/S. It works fine in other laptops. The disk that came with the laptop is 6mm, this one is 9mm, but seems to fit fine. The disk shows up if I remove the mSATA.Is this a problem that can be overcome?
I just received a Genuine Dell XPS M1530 9 Cell 85Whr Battery. Now i plugged the battery in and it is now fully charged but i am confused as the capacity is at 69/66whr(105%).
Isn't this battery meant to be 85whr? Is this normal as i believe my other battery which is a 6 cell is at 52/50whr(103%) and that is a 56whr battery. If so that sorta sucks a fair bit considering im loosing almost an hour of run time just in calculations the same as HDD Sizing.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had this laptop for just over a month and the battery capacity is only at 83% (tested with Dell Support Center). A couple of days ago this was at 87%.
If this is normal for the battery to lose capacity so quickly (nearly 20% in just over a month seems a lot to me..) or should I consider asking Dell for a replacement?
Just recieved my haswell xps 12 yesterday, overall the machine is great, but I have one outstanding issue that has just made me call dell support to return it . The battery life is showing as only holding 75% of it's design capacity in the my dell software and widows 8 battery report. As battery life is one of the major reasons I'm upgrading, I don't think I can put up with the battery being so degraded at this stage, and I'm not getting anywhere near the stated time in the various reviews.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony VGN-S260 laptop. I got it fixed and installed a Western Digital 250GB Scorpio Blue EIDE hard drive. I updated to the latest bios available and also installed WINXP SP3. The HDD is only detected as 137GB on the bios and 128GB roughly on windows. I heard that WINXP SP1 and above supported 48-bit LBA and I did not see an option to add partitions to utilize all space on my HDD. I also tried PM 8.0 and it did not see the extra space. I am in a bind and would like to use my space on the hard drive.

I have 2 extra high capacity 6-cells (compatible with dv4, dv5, and several other compaq models) that i don't need because hp will be sending me my replacement dv7 soon and they dont fit. i want to sell them but i don't even know what a good asking price would be(hp does not even sell them individually on their website). they've been sitting in my fridge for the last month and have hardly ever been used, one of them i believe is still 100% capacity.
