Dell :: XPS 1340 (Studio XPS 13) Is A Disaster DO NOT BUY IT!

Here is my list of issues with my 1340:

1) Upper left corner of screen is coming out - physically.
2) Wifi doesnt work when screen is too wide open (must be less than 90 degrees to work!)

3) Freezes every five minutes (I hope this post goes through!). Cursor gets stuck, thats it, no movement. Just freezes.

4) USB Port seems to fail - I run my mouse and then it just stops moving.

5) BSOD at least twice daily

6) Power cord plug is loose and not always working.

Dell :: Brand New E6500 = Disaster!

Received a new E6500 to demo at work since we are not happy with our HPs and it has been the worst I have seen out of the box!

The first time you go to the control panel after a boot it crashes Explorer. Then it crashed trying to install Windows updates the first time

Dell :: Studio XPs 1340 2GB Ram Always In Use??

I just got my sxps 1340 and am running vista sp2.

I have 4GB of ram, and task manager shows that 2.8GB is in use. The processes total up maybe 500MB, so whats using the other 2.3GB of ram

Acer :: The Disaster Manufacturer Pt.2

As you may remember I sent my laptop of to acer for the screen to be repaired, they wiped the harddrive, kept etremely poor contact and kept the laptop away from me for a mo nth. Overall, it was a horrible experience.

Not only that, it was a botch repair job and the laptop died soon after being returned. I had no choie but to return it to them, reluctantly. About 3 weeks go back before i hear anything, then I get an email saying it had bee shipped back to me. A few days later, it still hasn't come. then after a few emaisl to them moe I get a replying saying sorry, but the guy wo said that was mistaken, and it had in fact not been shipped out to me.

Then after another barrage of emails I hear they can't actually repair it, and want to replace it to a new one. And of course, they won't swap the old harddrive in. There was no way I could back everything up this time as it died completely so soon after i got it back. This is unbelievable. I then get an email saying I can buy back my own property from them(ing warranty), which later turns out to be a lie too, I can pay �40 to have 4 DVDs backed up off it. 16 gigs from a 250 gig HD. Oh, joy.

I don't know what to do at this stage. Because they outright lied to me and have jerked me around this much, and the damage was their fault, I think I might have something I can stand on. This is absolute insanity and I can't see how anyone involved is an actual human being.

I want to know what I should do. A guy in my house who worked for apple said i should find a cheap solicitor and get them to send a letter, as big companies don't have time to deal with that kind of thing, and i'd at least get it back quicker.

Dell :: Studio XPS 1340 Replacement

The 1640/45/47 owners and the m1330 owners have their respective replacements threads. There has also been a concern about getting Alienware instead of XPS thread. So I created this thread because the Studio XPS 1340 has reached EOL and is no longer offered as a replacement. Thus, I would like 1340 owners' help in tracking and monitoring replacements.

Please specify experiences regarding:What are the specs of your current XPS 1340?What system was received in lieu of the SXPS 1340? Specs? New or Refurb?At what point were you aware of the system you were going to receive?How long did the systems' exchange process take?Did you attempt escalation or any form of negotiation?Are you happy with your replacement? .........
