Having issue with my XPS 15z.. When the machine is turned on, it takes longer than usual to boot, and when it finally does, it throws up two error messages in tandem, each bearing the title: "RAVBg64.exe - Application error," followed by a warning message bearing the code 0xc0000185.What might be wrong with my computer and what can be done to resolve the problem?
I purchased a Sony Vaio FW21E ten days ago and have had nothing but trouble since bringing it home. Firstly - wireless connectivity: It would not connect to my university server so I took it to a friends house - would not connect to her router.
Tried a different router - still no connection. I can connect to the internet via ethernet - but this is supposed to be a wireless device.
When trying to access some websites and my university e-mail I get the error: Microsoft visual c++ runtime library Crogramfiles/internetexploreriexplore.exe and ie crashes.
Last but not least - and this one takes the biscuit. I bought a sony rechargeable mouse to ensure that it was compatible (model number VGP BMS77). Not the cheapest option but I thought it would be best. The Mouse will not pair with the laptop! I get the error message 80070057.
As said before - this is a brand new laptop and I haven't got a clue how to fix any of these problems.
I'm not sure if this fits the board but I'll give this a shot anyway. I've not had problems with my wifi until recently. When I visit certain sites (Tumblr blogs' main pages for instance), I receive the dreaded 503 Service Unavailable message. Neither my phone nor the other notebooks in my household face the same problem as I am so I have a feeling it's only me.
I owned a laptop a couple years back which had wireless card issues (signal fizzled out after some minutes) so I do suspect that this might be the same thing. I'm not sure if this is relevant but currently, there are only three bars on my wifi icon while my phone has the full five. However, I'm able to access the majority of the internet just fine.
For reference, I am a Windows 8 user but I have yet to update to Windows 8.1 (because the last time I did, I was bluescreened (sort of) so I'm a little paranoid), owned this notebook for about a year and a half, and I do update whenever HP support assistant prompts me.
I've successfully been using Win 8.1pro for the past week. I've just been working on my Acer Aspire 5542 laptop browsing Google and Facebook when it stopped working. On switching on, I keep getting a message { "PREPARING AUTOMATIC REPAIR" after about 10 seconds a blue screen flashes in 1 second that says "): your PC ran into problems and needs to restart. We are just collecting error info and we'll restart for you."} and computer proceeds to restart and keeps looping the same process indefinitely. It's been like this since yesterday..
HP G662 Notebook running Windows 7 64 bit: Despite running all the troubleshooting advice from web I can find, my Windows Update will not work and has not worked since I replaced my hard drive about a year or so ago. No error messages appear.
A friend of mines Inspiron 1521 keeps getting a Dell Wireless WLAN error when windows vista home premium loads. No matter how I try to get into widows (normal or safemode) all I get is a black screen.
No taskbar, start menu, nothing, nada, zip. I found this thread that tells me what the issue is but I can't get to device manager to either uninstall the driver or update it .....
When I turn my XPS 15 on, I get a continuous beep code (3 beeps pause 3 beeps pause....), a black screen with the following error message: ERROR 210: CPU Variable MTRR configure failed.
I am having a major issue with my Dell XPS L702x laptop at the moment, in that it cannot boot up at all, rendering it completely unusable.
When this first happened, the laptop used to progress through the dell screen, the 'starting windows' screen, and then just hang at a blank screen, or with a blank screen with the windows 7 background and a mouse cursor. This happened in both normal startup and attempting safe mode.
I have tried starting in best last known configuration, resetting the bios to default settings. I eventually got startup repair to work, but it didn't do anything, nor did system restore.
I run diagnostics, and receive this error right at the beginning of the test:
ERROR CODE 0146.
Msg: Error Code 2000-0146
Msg: Hard Drive 0 - self test log contains previous error(s).
I continue the diagnostics and everything else passes okay.
However, now when I try to boot my PC up in normal or in safe mode, I get past the dell and windows startup screen and instead of the hang I simply get a blue screen error:
BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO.
STOP: 0x00000074
I have also had the blue screen errors c000021a, and 0xc0000221. But primarily am now getting the bad_system_config_info every time.
using my unmodded 9300 and shut down for the night. This morning, when I tried to reboot, the process would get to the Windows splash screen, then flash a blue screen so fast I couldn't read it, then go to a black screen that gave me 5 options to start windows. No matter which one I pick, the same process happens again.
I videotaped the blue screen and it reads: a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to my computer unmountable_boot_volume and then it gives me unhelpful advice on how to fix the problem.
I ran the Pre boot system assessment and all items passed. Then I ran the Dell Diagnostic Utility for "unable to boot O/S" with the following results: HD Read Test error: 00F0:0244 and HD Verify Test error: 00F0:1A44. Both of these were on sectors in the middle of the volume and I canceled both tests after about 10 errors. All other memory, graphics, and HD tests passed.
I tried booting from the XP CD and repairing from the CD with no change. I ran chkdsk /p and it found one or more errors on the volume.
bootcfg /list gives me: there are currently no boot entries available to display.
What are my best options on trying to recover this without losing data? I have a fairly recent backup, but would like to try to save what's on the HD. Parallel install? What is fixboot used for?
Dell lists my drive as: M7601 Hard Drive, 60GB, 9.5MM, 7.2K Hitachi, Ibm Moraga
What is the drive of choice to replace this if I need to?
way to transfer messages from mac mail to Outlook 07 other than using an Imap account or setting up an Imap server plugin in outlook? I have to move ALOT of machines over and all have thousands of e-mails.
I've been using adium for sending messages to cells because MSN doesn't support it in OSX and my cell account only has 200 to it and I won't pay anymore for it, the reason I don't like adium is because I keep getting people sending me messages that I don't know and I try to block them but they keep coming, So is there another messenger app that I could use in OSX for SMS's
I set up mail with my Gmail account but I don't want it to download all my messages. Is there a way to set a limit to how many messages get stored in the computer? I have way too many messages and don't want to waste hard disk space.
I tried to turn on my laptop today and during the computer booting up received a windows Error Recovery Screen . It said windows failed to start . a recent hardware or software change might be the cause and gives me two options. If i choose Launch start up repair i get a blank screen for hours and nothing happens . If i try to start windows normally nothing happens . I just used the computer the other day and it was working fine i didn't add any new hardware or software so i'm not sure whats going on . I am running The Dell Diagnostics using the F12 Diagnostics Testing Now
I have this problem. I had the x64 version of Vista running on my Macbook Pro and I just started to hate all the stuttering because of the wireless driver (which nobody can resolve), so I decided to put back my good-old trusty XP Pro 32bit. (I still have that CD all dusted somewhere around here).
So I wiped my Boot Camp partition, made another one (with the Assistant), and put in the XP CD, the computer restarted, it loaded up Windows Setup, copied all the files (in text mode) and then when the computer restarts and boots off the new partition, I get the:
"Disk Boot Error, Press any key to restart..."
And of course the system freezes. I have to hold down the power button and shut down my Mac.
Now as far as I can figure this out, I think something messed with my mbr or something, because this only happens with the XP disc. Vista would want to install just fine and dandy.............
I have hp envy m6 notebook.it does not boot-up and give the attached error message. When hard disk test was done, it gives the error code in second attachment.
I have an Inspiron 5520 with Win 8 and for the last few days every time the system boots up I get the following message: "checking media (fail)". The message appears twice then the system boots normally. All the programs/apps work fine. The only "media" program I used was Windows Movie Maker and it works just fine.
I have to either Launch start up repair or start windows normally. I've down the start up repair and it says that it is finished turns the laptop off and then restarts but when it gets to the boot up screen it just runs with the little bar with arrows going along for ages and doesn't progress so I have to switch the laptop off again which means next time I start it I go back to the initial problem.
I didn't get a recovery disk or anything with my laptop so not sure if there is a way of getting in and partioning the disk otherwise or rebooting the hard drive.
The past few weeks, when I start my computer up, in the top left corner the screen shows the words "Boot Error". It doesn't do this every time, though. I can easily get out of this by hitting any key and it starts right up.
also the past few weeks, when I shut this computer down, the battery charge light flashes at a regular rate till the computer shuts down.
What does that mean?
FYI, I don't have a battery in this notebook because it died about 5 months ago.
I am using dell inspiron 3521 windows 8 preloaded. Whenever i start my laptop. It stuck on dell logo with full blue bar. And after few minutes, a blue screen shows that some files are missing. Error code: 0xc0000185.
When i diagnosed..its showing error code 0142. Hard drive error. And when i force it to boot. It shows in black screen with white letters "no bootable device found, press any key". And when i press any key.. Its repeating the same error... Now i dont know what is happening.. Warranty over..
I have problem with my Acer Aspire 7520G. When I turn it on, after memory check and disk check I got messages:
Resource Conflict PCI Serial Bus Controler in slot 01 Bus:01 Device:04 Function:00 ERROR Bus:01 Device:04 Function:01 ERROR Bus:01 Device:04 Function:02 ERROR Bus:01 Device:04 Function:03 ERROR Bus:01 Device:04 Function:04 ERROR
after this wont boot neither from HDD nor CD/DVD. Just blink currsor apears.
After a few of restarts, if I got luck, it will boot up "normally". I checked in Windows system that Bus 01 Device 04 is acctualy
Ricoh 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller at Function 00, SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller at Function 01, Ricoh SD/MMC Host controller at Function 02, Ricoh Memory Stick Controller at Function 03, Ricoh xD-Picture Card Controller at function 04.
I partitioned my hard drive for boot camp when I got it, and used Windows for a bit. I then decided to remove the Windows partition and use OSX only.
I used disk utility and re-claimed the partition size used for Windows. Cool.
Now whenever my computer's battery dies when it's in sleep mode, plugging it in does not recall Mac OSX (you know the gray screen that eventually resumes to Leopard?). On top of that, when I restart my MBP, it goes into a windows "non-system disk, remove and press enter" thing. I have to restart and hold down option to select Mac OSX, as if there was still a partition. But no windows option shows up.
I'm confused and this is getting annoying. I've checked disk utility again, it's showing one partition. There must be something that got left behind. Any ideas? I have thought about wiping and Time Machining it, but I'm afraid whatever is left behind will get backed up as well - not to mention having to re-register all my software is a pain I'd rather not have to do.
My computer won't boot an I have the error stated in the title. Also where is the installation disk I can use to fix my computer, do you get them with the pc.
I updated BIOS (it's now Hewlett-Packard F.49) with a download from HP's website. I wish I hadn't done that because it made my laptop ill. When booting up it freezes and the only thing I see is the black screen with HP logo. No button works.
Later I've found out that BIOS itself ain't the problem (I tried to recover the old version for long without any success), it's the USB devices attached or the USB ports, dunno. My laptop boots normally and works perfectly if I take off all the USB plug-ins before I press the power button. After the black screen has passed I can plug in the USBs and they work too.URL....
When I download the bios driver from hp oficial site and intall it after completion of installation my pc restart and shows ''boot device not found 0f3 error'' .......
My laptop model is HP Elite Book 8400p.I can't boot the system. In system diagnostics, it gives start up test, run in test, hard disk test as failure...Reason shown is "Test(quick).....Error:Read failure Error:Read failure".. How can I solve this?
