View 3 RepliesWhat I want to do now is modify the screen case and fit a webcam. My problem is that I've taken the entire thing apart, looked at the motherboard and the back of the screen and I cannot find there the webcam plug is for the stock camera.
Does anyone have any idea? The Dell disasembly guide shows a short ribbon like cable going off to the right, but I find no port for it nor does the guide give more detail.
I've tried to restore system to factory default by pressing Ctrl+F11 in my XPS M1210. After confirmation to proceed I got the message: General failure error 36000.
I re-installed Windows XP but I'm having troubles with drivers not installed by the Windows re-install process.
I just installed Windows 7 on my XPS M1210 but for some odd reason Its only detecting one Core.
My processor is a Core 2 Duo T5600 @ 1.83GHz why is that happening is there a fix for this? thanks for the Help
i've been aware of the bluetooth widcomm and the logitech software causes the moment where you'll get a black screen after the windows loading screen then you just need to restart the laptop to enter into windows.
i really think that this is the cause in my case because whenever i disabled the logitech webcam, i don't get any locked up, although when i enable it, then restart the machine, i don't usually get the locked up.
The weird part is that when i leaved the laptop at least for some few hours (note that i enabled the logitech webcam here), the issue arises, so i need to restart the laptop using the power button once to get inside windows.
My solution here is to disable the logitech webcam which i don't like because whenever i need the camera the laptop will ask me to restart the computer.
I would like to ask if there is any other solution for this? any new software?
i don't like to uninstall any software unless its really the solution.
I have Dell inspiron N411Z (2009). the webcam stoped to work after skype upgrade. I found out that windows doesn't recognize the webcam. I install the driver Creative live! 2009 or 2011. But it's useless.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just clean installed Win 7 Professional into my sister's Vaio CR220E. Everything are OK except Webcam and Battery.
1. With the Webcam, it seem gone away without any track. There is no device left without driver in Device Manager and no Webcam among of them.
I try to install driver by running the exe file or install.bat but no effective.
2. The battery die already. There is no problem in Vista but in Windows 7,
an alert message said that Battery is wrong plugged or different type and Sony Event Service always force me to hybernate the system and remove then plug the battery again.
When I turn my Dell Inspiron 7720 on, integrated webcam often does not work. Camera app in Windows 8 shows "there's a problem with a camera", other apps also show error messages or just a black screen.
After several resets the camera may start to work properly till the next reset. The camera is always shown in the Device Manager without errors and in the USBView I see that at least USB descriptors are correct. Moreover, after several disable/enable cycles in device manager the camera may start to work.
I've created two HDD partitions and installed Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8 Pro (both from original ISO files downloaded from MSDN). On clear Win 8 the camera shows the same problem, but on Win 7 it works properly.
There is no camera driver for Inspiron 7720 on the Dell web-site, thus I've used standard Microsoft driver on both Win 7 and Win 8.
I'm still not sure is it a hardware problem, because it is reproduced only with Windows 8. The computer was initially sold with Ubuntu, but Windows 8 is in the list of supported OS.
Camera IDs are: VID = 0C45 (Sonix), PID = 648D, REV = 2206.
I got Inspiron 15R 5520 with Windows 8 and after I installed this OS my webcam doesn't work properly anymore.Well, actually it's work but sometimes. But almost all the time Skype telling me that I should close all the programs that may use the webcam, but I haven't any other apps that uses webcam, Is there some additional drivers or application I should install? BTW it worked properly on Windows 7. And it IS working on Ubuntu so I presume that's a software issue.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is brand new. I remember the first time I started it I clicked on CyberLink YouCam and the camera worked. I even took a picture with it.Since then I am trying to activate the webcam and it is not working. I wanted to Videochat on Skype but the webcam was not activated so there was no webcam option. I read that if you go on Facebook and click on "Change Profile Picture" and then "Take Picture" it activates the webcam, but not in my case.
When I start CyberLink YouCam it says that there was no webcam found and if I have to activate it if I have one. So here is my question: How do I activate the webcam? How that works. What button combination I have to press or whatever.I have the HP Envy dv7-7202eg with Windows 8.
