View 9 RepliesMy HP Pavilion dvr-1200 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC has a huge problem. It will not display anything other than a set pattern of rotating block colors -it goes from red to blue to green to a shadow sort of grey with vertical lines, each lasting about ten seconds, than repeating over and over. You can hear the computer starting up, and you can get it to the start page by knowing when to press enter and when to scan your fingerprint; this is as far as I can get without seeing. I've had the problem for about two months; the unfortunate thing is after about a week, I decided to hook up a external monitor to it, and got a full picture, with everything but the screen display working great. Unfortunately, in excited haste, I decided it had to be a graphics driver issue, which would just mean an update or a completely new set of drivers. Great. But I accidentally deleted the drivers I had before I uploaded new ones, and the external screen I was using went blank.

When I start up HP_Webcam.exe or Youcam the blue led is not turning on and I receive the following error:

What can be the cause of this access violation?
I recently formatted my laptop to windows 7 ultimate and since then can not get my function keys to work. I've reinstalled drivers that I thought might work and nothing.
When I could no longer adjust my brightness is when I noticed that my function keys were not working. Is there any other way to adjust the brightness on my laptop besides the function keys? If so I have not figured it out.
i have a acer laptop that did have vista on, i have upgraded this recently to windows 7, i have just today bought a new webcam which it says is windows 7 ready plus there are no drivers needed, i can just plug it in and it will work.

well, i have plugged it in and it seems to be installing, finds the driver etc, then it says cannot install, then when i go into the device manager and click into the device it sayd access denied, i have tried alsorts to fix it, turned uac off etc and still does same thing, tried in safe mode, i just cannot do it.
Just purchased my new Pavilion dv7, and when I run the You Cam software, it tells me my HP TrueVision HD webcam is not detected. I have tried at this for several days now, at one point when I was trying to fiddle with the You Cam settings, the webcam light turned on for aprox. 2 seconds and then went dead again, since then it won't even let me into the YouCam settings.
Right now I'm becoming more and more convinced that this is due to my laptop being assembled outside the US. Need a fix for this immediately.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00. I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate before which I had windows 7 home premium on which I could use the webcam but now it shows an error when I open cyberlink youcam "Warning, No webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on". I've watched and tried all the steps except for the last step as the cyberlink youcam software doesn't allow me to click the configure settings. What should I do to turn on my webcam?

Therefore, I can't use my Skype video call function. When I had the factory installed OS, Skype video call worked perfectly.
I have been all over the Internet trying to find software - YouCam, Quickplay, SP37849, SP46565, SP38361 and SP 45866 - all to no avail. None of the software would install, except Quickplay (SP38361).
In the Device Manager, under Imaging Devices, there is no webcam driver listed, only my HP 6700 All-in-One printer/scanner. Is there a possibility that only one imaging device can be installed at one time?

My problem goes as following:One day I realised I cannot use my built in camera anymore. Tried reinstalling original preinstalled Cyberlink Youcam software, but as you can assume if that worked - I wouldn't be here. Then I tried troubleshooting according to HP guide. The problem is there is no category called "Imaging devices" at all.
I can place two bets on what could actually happen:
a) somehow I managed to delete basic HP webcam 101 driver.
The exact name of the device is: USBVID_05C8&PID_021E&MI_00
b) internal camera itself broke down (it's not unplugged cord issue - made sure myself)
I believe I could try installing basic separate driver for the camera, the problem is I cannot find one/cannot find reliable source. Could you send me/upload it for me?

When the screen goes white I put it in sleep mode and then wake the comupter up again and the screen comes on like normal but if I'm running Netflix or Sims 3 its only a matter of time before it happens again.

I am using pavilion 15-N 259tx windows 8.1 64 bit. I would like to know if there is any way to easily access / turn my bluetooth ON rather than going to 'pc & devices" and then turning the bluetooth ON.
there is no physical button to turn bluetooth but only the airplane mode... common guys, no one really uses airplane mode daily but bluetooth.
My laptop is brand new. I remember the first time I started it I clicked on CyberLink YouCam and the camera worked. I even took a picture with it.Since then I am trying to activate the webcam and it is not working. I wanted to Videochat on Skype but the webcam was not activated so there was no webcam option. I read that if you go on Facebook and click on "Change Profile Picture" and then "Take Picture" it activates the webcam, but not in my case.
When I start CyberLink YouCam it says that there was no webcam found and if I have to activate it if I have one. So here is my question: How do I activate the webcam? How that works. What button combination I have to press or whatever.I have the HP Envy dv7-7202eg with Windows 8.
Is there some sotr of program installed that allows you to use the webcam?
I can only access mine by default when using Instant Messenger.

All was working perfectly for the past couple of days (since I got it) until today when the monitor will go blank, display a 'no signal' message, the laptop screen will flicker then after approx 15 seconds all is back to normal excepting the following message is displayed:-

I have had this laptop 2 days and today its doing all sorts of strange things. Several times it has gone black screen (not shutdown, just like it had the battery yanked out and lost power). I had one message that there was a problem and windows had to shutdown and gave an error like 0xa0000001 or something.
But even before i had this i was worried. Some of the first things i did was install some benchmark programs. speccy, cpuid, gpu-z. cpuid doesn't show the temps, but speccy showed the cpu cores all running at 80-90 just with windows sitting doing nothing. it highlights anything over 80 as red. gpu-z shows the dual graphics with similar but about 5 degrees lower temps and shows the amd radeon hd 8670M card as far lower temps. a fan inside seems to be on and when temps get above 95 seems to go into high gear. but i have seen speccy showing temps of 106 C!
i think this is what is causing the laptop to blackout and restart; temps going over 105 for any time at all. in short it runs windows, with occasionally even with psu plugged in dimming of the laptop screen. but try and run something, such as an internet connection, plugging anything into usb ports that is powered from the laptop, or browsing the web - not even watching video or streaming just google search! - and the temps jump up to mid 90s or higher.
I moved from Windows 8 to WIndows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) early-on and I've managed to get everything working EXCEPT my built in web cam.

I want to upgrade the memory (RAM), but I don't see any access panels on the underside of the notebook that would make it easy to change the memory cards. I didn't find any diagrams or instructions in the user manual, and I haven't found any way videos on the internet. My workplace installed a router a few months ago. It's a Cisco E2000. My laptop will not recognize the wireless signal from the router. It recognizes about 10 other wireless signals from other locations outside the office. My phone also recognizes the router and can connect to it no problem. I've installed all the updates for Windows 7 and for the HP laptop. I've also installed the latest driver for the wifi card in the laptop.

I tried to update from Microsoft wibsite but it the store says my laptop is running on a OS that does not support update..
Earlier last month i was able to open the update option but as i didn't had time so i did not use it.
I have a "HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-n005eo Ultrabook" running windows 8.1. This last Friday my computer got stuck and when I tried to reboot it said that something was wrong with windows and gave me the alternatives to fix it. I first tried to backup trough the program but got a Bluescreen (System thread exception not handled (iaStorA.sys). I then tried to just restore the Windows part (not effecting my files) but I got Blue screen. I then moved on to a full system reset (with my recover DVD that I fortunately had made just a couple of days before the crash) but after completed all 5 discs the computer rebooted and told that the system restore wasn't completed so I tried again, but I got the same problem.
The last thing I have tried is to make a factory reset and now (after the 5 disc) it started to reboot and a information that told that HP software were about to get installed came up. I left the computer to finish the install and when I checked later on it was turned of so i turned on the PC and after the message "Wait" I got Blue screen again (System thread exception not handled (iaStorA.sys)) and the same happens when I restart the computer.
I have also tried disconnecting from network and turning off wifi from the signal strength icon as well prior to shutdown. When the adapter stays open when I return to the laptop and connect again it shows that i have been connected via the adapter for days at a time. This eventually leads to the connection being clogged up and causing timeouts preventing me from connecting to the net. I stopped ittwice but dont know what I did.

I have tried the Recovery and after MUCH time waiting, it still comes back to the above mentioned screen. I have also run all the diagnostics that are available on the laptop and everything come back normal. I don't have the original discs or documentation as I "received this laptop as a "gift/curse" . It is, however, registered to me.
