I have an m1530 which I upgraded to 64 bit Windows 7. The default audio driver from windows update didn't allow me to use the microphone, so I used the Vista 64 Sigmatel driver from the dell site.
Because of a slight audio popping issue (many other people have discussed this) I updated to the IDT drivers for the m1645 as Black Russian recommended. Then I searched even further and found this list on laptopvideo2go:
http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/top...l-idt-drivers/
I installed the newest one there (6255) and it seems to work pretty just as well as the other ones did
I have managed to install win 7 x64 on Inspiron 1420. The only problem so far are the audio drivers. My audio card is Sigmatel HD.
I tried to install a version from vista x64 but I have some noise problems in Skype.
What kind of drivers are you using in x64 Win 7 for your inspiron 1420? Helped needed.
I have a STUDIO XPS 1640 I bought an USB Digital Microscope I cannot get the drivers to install! I have a dell desktop both the notebook and the desktop are running the same version of windows vista and the drivers for the USB Digital Microscope installed on the desktop. So my question is how do I get the USB Digital Microscope working on my STUDIO XPS 1640 notebook? I really need to get the USB Digital Microscope to work on the notebook. The reason I bought the notebook was to keep the my kid off my desktop!
View 10 Replies View RelatedEvery time I watch a Flash video in Firefox, the touchpad's vertical/horizontal scroll stops working, and I'm sick of having to reboot every time I'm done watching Youtube.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just installed 178.13 (vista x64) drivers for my m1330 and it's got FAR FAR slower in any games I run on it.....
Got the drivers from laptopvideo2go as the Dell one's are really old- how comes these newer one's do not work with the M1330?
I am hoping someone can point me to a driver to get me out of trouble. Have tried a few and spent plenty of time rebooting in safe mode to roll back.
I have a M1330 and have installed XP on it. It has been running a dream for 8 months but I have just hit a snag.
Where can I download Windows 7 drivers for the xps m1330? All I see in the drivers sections are for vista. Will Vista 64bit drivers work?
View 15 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been having trouble with my M1330's GPU overheating. It's been idling at 70-85C and can sometimes get past 100C when under load.
Since I'm going to be in Japan for the next few months, it doesn't seem like there's a simple way for me to send my laptop in to get a new GPU or motherboard, if that's the issue.
So I've been trying various things to try to reduce the temperature. I bought an aluminum laptop cooler with 3 fairly large fans on it, but it hasn't had any significant effect.
I also downloaded the latest BIOS, since I heard that the newer ones increase the fan speed.
Was having an issue on bios A12 (I think it was) with the brightness (function keys were not adjusting it properly), so updated the bios to A15 and the latest intel drivers as advised. (have intel, not nvidia).
Now the screen on boot is either blank or with only blue lines.
Can hear it booting into windows so the system on the whole seems fine.
Have got it working successfully on an external monitor via the vga port. I have tried to reapply the A15 bios and reinstall the intel drivers but not changed anything. The display properties in windows shows the laptop monitor as stuck on 640x480 and low colours. screen is off on 640x480 and if upped to the only other option 800x600 gives blue lines.
2 days before (on Vista) I was able to use the front audio panel. I was able to use headset with microphone.
Now I can only use headphones becasue W7 is not picking up anything, even though I have set it in Sigmatel control panel to be microphone.
I have a e1705, when I got it I had Windows Meadia Center but since then Ive had to format and Im using Windows XP Pro SP3 now and since I put this on,
I had the original drivers from Dell working with the Service Tag lookup on their website.
I had to format again, and this time around, with the same copy of Windows, those drivers, and every other copy of the drivers I can find wont work
I actually have TWO 9-Cells, and they are both drain pathetically fast, whereas when I got it in August 2007, they lasted at least twice that.
View 10 Replies View Relatedi want to be able to play music on my webcam and found i need to use stereo mix to do this but i dont see any support for this with this audio driver.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need those drivers and software. I was looking around but I can't find anything (maybe you had luck).
So If it is possible for someone who has already dealt with this to post links, it would be appreciated.

My speakers went dead after a restart.
Running XP. Had this problem last year, but finally had them going again after install/uninstall of a multitude of drivers, including Sigmatel and LG and other versions.
Now they are dead again. Used the Dell diagnostics utility and the speakers are fine as well as the headphone sound.
But when I am in XP, I need to connect my headphones to have sound from both the headphones and the speakers, weird. Tried all kinds of Sigmatel drivers, but abandoned after 2 days .....
I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 T9300 with a Sigmatel sound device.
I am missing the option to record "what you hear" or "stereo mix".
OS = Vista & XP (dual boot).
A nice xmas gift in the form of a driver from Dell

Finally we have stereo mix!

Not sure why Sony is not releasing the latest driver in their support site.
here's the problems:
1. The damn CPU whining? I know everyone has it. Dell said last time I called that they're working on some way to fix it. The new A09 Bios didn't seem to do anything for me, or anyone else apparently according to dell's support forum. What's up with that?
2. My laptop wobbles on the top right and bottom left corners. it only wobbles if I use my 6cell batt, and it doesn't wobble w/ the 9 Cell. So does that mean the 6cell's rubber feet thing on the top right corner isn't high enough? Can dell fix that?
3. The "increase volume" media button thing isn't as responsive as the other ones. i have to press really hard to get it to respond. all the other ones i just tap it lightly, and it works.
Here's some questions that I know Dell has no clue what to do with:
4. I'm currently using Vista Ultimate on this only because I couldn't get my bluetooth driver and my sigmatel audio driver to work properly on XP. since dell hasn't released a xp bluetooth driver, i used WIDCOMM 5.1 stack, and the bluetooth headset and stereo headset drivers would disable the sigmatel drivers. really annoying. cmd51229 says he's gotten it to work:..........................
Does the Dell Studio Xps 16 share the same horrible keyboard and horrible trackpad with the Xps m1530.

And I was wondering how is the screen quality is (such as viewing angles). And wouldnt the beautiful glossy black scratch easily such as if something fell on it or skidded across it. Im apologize I am just really picky with my purchases.
* No offence, but I used three different Dell Xps m1530 and I found that the keyboard was very noisy, and feel so cheap. The trackpad is way too small and the trackpad buttons are to small and noisy.
I can't seem to find this anywhere. All the old links to the file are currently dead.Does anyone still have this bios?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI need a copy of the hacked bios for updating an Inspiron 9300 with a 7800GTX video card to the XPS Gen 2 bios. The link in post on this site "photo guide to install 7800GTX" does not work any longer. I have the 7800GTX installed in my 9300 with the 9300 revision 5 bios but it shows unknown video card in the bios Device Info screen.

1. Is the 4 gig of ram sufficient to run Vista 64 bit and the games
2. Is their much advantage to the RGBLED screen (when he is at home the laptop will be connected to his LG LCD monitor)
3. Finally is this a good buy (I can get a 21% corporate discount but it will still be over $950)
Finally why are the memory upgrades so expensive

View 13 Replies View Relatedim about to buy a XPS M1530 and i think im going to jump on the $99 for a Mini 9 Deal, i just have a few questions:
hacked by pca
For those of you who has a Mini 9, what do you guys think about it?
I read that the highest amount of RAM that the Mini 9 supports is 2GB, now is that 1 or 2 slots?
What is the biggest SSD that is available for the Mini 9 right now? I read that the Mini 9 takes 50mm SSD's and the biggest SSD is 32GB?
After all, i think it won't disappoint me for $99.. Im going to get the linux and install XP on it, upgrade the RAM to 1 or 2 gig and maybe upgrade the SSD from 4GB to something alittle bigger..
I am not sure whether this is normal: I usually put my laptop into Sleep mode after finishing work, so it's almost never turned off. However, it almost always goes to hibernation at about 77% to 75 % battery.
hacked by pca
I thought this is must be set up in the Advanced Power Options of the Power Plan, and I checked that the critical battery level is at 10%.
So how can it be that it goes off to hibernation so early?
I have an Inspiron 1720, about a year old.
The VC in my XPS M1210 (Geforce 7400) just crapped out.
hacked by pca
I'm sure its the VC. The diagnostic key sequence is also for the VC.
I was wondering where I could buy another VC. Is it built into the mobo, meaning I have to buy another mobo as well?
I called Dell but since my warentee expired a couple months ago they won't even speak to me without paying a 40 dollar fee which is rediculous.
