Not sure why Sony is not releasing the latest driver in their support site.
here's the problems:
1. The damn CPU whining? I know everyone has it. Dell said last time I called that they're working on some way to fix it. The new A09 Bios didn't seem to do anything for me, or anyone else apparently according to dell's support forum. What's up with that?
2. My laptop wobbles on the top right and bottom left corners. it only wobbles if I use my 6cell batt, and it doesn't wobble w/ the 9 Cell. So does that mean the 6cell's rubber feet thing on the top right corner isn't high enough? Can dell fix that?
3. The "increase volume" media button thing isn't as responsive as the other ones. i have to press really hard to get it to respond. all the other ones i just tap it lightly, and it works.
Here's some questions that I know Dell has no clue what to do with:
4. I'm currently using Vista Ultimate on this only because I couldn't get my bluetooth driver and my sigmatel audio driver to work properly on XP. since dell hasn't released a xp bluetooth driver, i used WIDCOMM 5.1 stack, and the bluetooth headset and stereo headset drivers would disable the sigmatel drivers. really annoying. cmd51229 says he's gotten it to work:..........................
i own a HP notebook model 15e070sl currently running Windows 8.1 Update x64.Today the HP Support Assistant reminded me that there's an update for my audio driver and i tried to install it, but the installation failed. So i tried downloading the driver manually also but still the installation fails; the update is called sp62228 for Realtek Audio Driver (with DTS Sound) and this is the error it returns:
Codice di errore: -5009 : 0x8002802bInformazioni sull'errore:>CtorObjectWrapper.cpp (163)>CtorObjectWrapper.cpp (402)>KernelComponent.cpp (1163)>KernelCABFile.cpp (389)>SetupDLLSetupDLL.cpp (1541)pAPP:Realtek High Definition Audio DriverPVENDOR:Realtek Semiconductor Corp.PGUID:f132af7f-7bca-4ede-8a7c-958108fe7dbc$11.50.0.42618@Windows (9200) BT_OTHER 1714.1716
i had the same error with this driver even when the PC was running Windows 8 and later with Windows 8.1, so i postponed the update but it still doesn't work. I tried installing it when the PC was new out of the box, so i can say that for sure the problem is not related to any program i may have installed. I also tried uninstalling the audio driver but still it won't install, and i have to restore the previous driver via HP Recovery.
Windows Update just offered me a new IDT High Definition Audio Driver for my dv5t. I decided not to install it yet. Has anybody tried it? What version is it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy speakers went dead after a restart.
Running XP. Had this problem last year, but finally had them going again after install/uninstall of a multitude of drivers, including Sigmatel and LG and other versions.
Now they are dead again. Used the Dell diagnostics utility and the speakers are fine as well as the headphone sound.
But when I am in XP, I need to connect my headphones to have sound from both the headphones and the speakers, weird. Tried all kinds of Sigmatel drivers, but abandoned after 2 days .....
I just recently bought an HP - dv6 WF536AV Laptop. The sounds were proper from the built-in Altec Lansing speakers , till i updated the audio drivers via HP Support Utility.
Now i do not get any playback from the speakers mentioned above, but while plugging in my iPod headphones, there is audio in the headphones.
I've tried to reinstall the IDT Audio driver from the HP Support utility as well as one downloaded from the website :
IDT High-Definition Audio Driver 6.10.6289.0
[URL] ....
Yet, nothing is resolved. Of what i understood from various articles on the web, was that the new driver sets the headphone jack as the primary device for audio output and hence it does not reach the speakers.
Also , I'm pretty sure of this not being a hardware conflict since the laptop is recently purchased and i've rarely used the headphone jack.
Following are the details about my system :
• HP Pavilion dv6t customizable Notebook PC
• black cherry
• Genuine Window s 7 Home Premium 64-bit
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-350M Dual Core processor (2.26GHz,3MB L3 Cache)
• 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5470 sw itchable graphics[HDMI, VGA]
• 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• HP TrueVision Webcam and Digital Microphone

Finally we have stereo mix!
I just updated my G780 to Windows 8.1 this morning. every time I boot up the computer, I get an Error message stating" Dolby Advanced Audio - Unable to start the Dolby Audio driver. Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists. I have restrtaed the computer and I do not know where the driver is for this or where to install it. Computer is just over a month old.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'd been having problems with the microphone not picking up voice well after upgrading to Windows 8.1. I went to Lenovo's website and downloaded IDT audio driver version 6.10.6490.0 for Windows 8.1 64bit. I ran the exectuable that was downloaded and now the Microphone works much better however now Dolby Advanced Audio is unable to start. I get the following warning message everytime I start the laptop:
"Unable to start the Dolby Audio driver. Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists."
Restarting has not worked. Running the driver executable again did not correct the issue.
I found this solution on the support forums but it is unclear about what to uninstall in "Device Manager"[URL]..."Open Device Manager Uninstall the Audio Device Under Audio inputs and outputs"I have a Microphone, Speakers, and Stereo Mix listed under Audio Inputs and Outputs.
I just updated the Realtek Audio Driver this morning when I saw the update available in the Update center. The driver went from v 6.0.1.6914 to v 6.0.1.7040. Now, the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 won't work. It forgot my previous EQ settings and when I make a new one, it doesn't change a thing in the sound. Is there a way to roll back to the previous version?
This is really bad as I'm listening to lots of music on this laptop while I'm working and without the Dolby EQ, the sounds is not very good...
I'm under Windows 8.1 64-bit.
I bought my Sony SZ series a while back on my trip to Japan. But whenever I try to do a driver update or upgrade it takes forever (24-36hours) and would often disconnect because it connects to the 'Asia Support Site'
View 10 Replies View Relatedhow to update the driver for the graphic card of this laptop its a 8400m gt. When i tried some off the laptopvideo2go site the function keys didnt work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFrom browsing the forums, i see that everyone is having trouble updating their drivers. Mobility modder currently does not support the ATI 4 series but there is still a way to install the drivers for us fortunuately . By doing this, you are able to install the display driver v9.6 but no CCC unforunately; however you can still retain the CCC v9.2 from Sony's official drivers.
1> Download the appropriate version OS of the 9.6 driver from [url]
2> Double click the file you just download and click install. It will unzip a folder to C:ATI (default). These are driver files. When the actual installation wizard comes up, cancel it.
3> Browse to C:ATI9-6_beta_win7_64_dd_CC (Driver name, e.g.)PackagesDriversDisplayW7_INF (For 32-bit) OR W76A_INF (for 64-bit)
**Btw, I am doing this example based on the Window 7 Install. (Other versions of the OS should be the same except the INF file name may be different)**
4> I am under 64-bit so I will use W76A_INF as an example for this guide. Double click on the INF file (for W7, it is named C7_81757)
5> Scroll down the file until you see a list like;
"ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT" = ati2mtag_RV610, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_94C1&SUBSYS_0D021002
"ATI Radeon HD 2900 PRO" = ati2mtag_R600, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9400&SUBSYS_30001002
"ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT" = ati2mtag_R600, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9400&SUBSYS_25521002
6> Add this anywhere between the entries you see above (does not have to be exact, just place this entry somewhere along the lines of the WHOLE list)
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570" = ati2mtag_M9x, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&SUBSYS_9033104D
Congratulations, the display driver can now be installed ONLY VIA the HAVE DISK method.
7> Quick review on HAVE DISK method; Device Manager > Right Click ATI 4570 then Update Driver Software > Browse my computer > Let me pick a list of Device drivers... > Have Disk > (Now browse to the INF file you just edited, in this example; the C7_81757 inf file.) Install, voila, DONE.
8> Now, to get the CCC v9.2 (Can't get 9.6 yet), get Sony's ATI drivers, run it and click on CUSTOM install, NOT EXPRESS, install CCC only and anything that is mandatory (DO NOT INSTALL THEIR DISPLAY DRIVERS!!!) .Voila, CCC 9.2 function (which is the same as 9.6 essentially).
I believe this method works for NW series w/ ATI 4570 too.
I installed XP Pro SP2 to get the drivers from the Asia Sony site to work... but the Audio driver wont work, all the others do... what can I try? I have the VGN-S58GP

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed the update for IDT HD Audio (it prompted me to in windows update) and I have been disappointed.
My most important problem: The audio sounds fine though the built-in speakers, however the sound though my headphones (provided by the Independent Dual Headphones profile) is inexcusably quiet. At max volume, it is only at comfortable listening levels. On the other hand, I am glad that it finally switches profiles automatically when I plug in a device via mini-jack.The second issue is the "SRS Premium" feature not working properly: I bought my laptop before they started doing that whole thing, so mine does not have an SRS badge by the speakers like others I have seen, but the update gave me the feature so I just expected that it would work. Thing is, the sliders are all messed up, I can't get it to stay at the percentage that I set it at (screen/app refreshes reset the sliders back to 0%). And even at that, if I manage to get a slider up to 80% whatever, it makes no difference in sound. I tried changing songs in case it wasn't real-time updating but that didn't work either.

I don't have any sound...
I have a SONY VIAO VGN-SZ433N_B. I'm constantly reminded that there are new updates for my lap top, but when I try to install I am told 'VAIO Update 4.0 is required. VAIO Update (Ver. 4.0 and above) is required on your VAIO Notebook.'
So I installed Sony Update 4.0.0.08240 but still it isnt recognised. I have even tried to uninstall the previous Update module and then re install without success. I keep getting the same message, indicating that the Viao Update 4 I have isnt being recognised.
I have an HP Envy dv7-7230us. I recently installed multiple HP updates deemed "critical" by their prompt. After installing and rebooting, I have no sound. If it is a clue, it also disconnected my WiFi.
