I am no longer able to set a custom charge treshold. Apparently, the power manager is no longer availabe to Windows 8(.1) users, instead, the Windows 8 app is used (which I have installed).
Currently, it charges to 100%. However, I want it to stop charging at 75% for battery health reasons.
Next to the Windows 8 app 'Lenovo Settings', these are the other Lenovo applications I have installed on my computer: [URL]...
When I plug my acer laptop charger into the wall, the green light lights up accordingly. when i plug it into my laptop the greenlight begins blinking and my laptop does not charge. is something wrong with my laptop or charger? Yesterday my laptop just shut itself off, i wasnt monitoring the battery because at the time it was plugged into the wall. Now its not charging anymore, did I burn something out?

This is recurring each time when i switch on my laptop, when i press F1 it is logged in and battery is charging fine, also hardware test passed.
I purchased the factory "Recovery" CDs. The problem is they will not recover the system.
Also on a 2nd HD I find that the Acer program eRecovery will no longer run.
This appears that Acer sels computers and doesn't provide the software needed to do basic recovery actions we could do under W-95
Acer will also sell you a "Recovery" CD sets that do not actually allow you to recover your system so you have a functioning PC.
V2.5.4015 is what I show in my corrupt file.
I have an acer M3 581T which I bought about a year ago. Now, windows crashed and said there was a file missing. I am no longer able to boot up the system, I've tried the erecovery (alt f10) but it just proceeds and says it's not able to boot. I have no recovery cd/usb at hand. It is of my understanding that this ultrabook has two harddrives. One SSD on which the operating system is installed and one HDD with the other files on.What do I do to make it work again? I do not care if all my files are lost.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have with my Lenovo B5400 is related to the battery. For about two months, on start up I get a loud beep and a message that says "The battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge. Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system." It's impossible for the battery not to be genuine because I purchased it together with the laptop, so it's all original and stuff. Of course, the toolbar icon for the battery says "plugged in, not charging", so my battery is currently stuck at 88%, although it's not going down. Recently made a BIOS update, but nothing changed ...
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I received my brand-new E540 from Amazon. Upon inserting the battery and starting the laptop for the very first time, I was greeted by the following error message:
The battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge.
Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system.
Press the ESC key to continue.
The message has only appeared once and hasn't been shown on subsequent reboots.
I proceeded to install Windows 7 which worked fine. Under Windows the battery symbol in the taskbar would say "66%. Plugged in. Not charging". I then shutdown the system and re-inserted the battery. Since then the battery appears to be charging normally and when I inspect the battery symbol in Windows it says something like "89% charged. Plugged in. Charging."
Seeing how this is a brand-new laptop, do you think the battery is broken and I should return the laptop, or should I keep it since it seems to be working normally now.
I have a Dell Studio 1735 and the battery won't charge and getting and error messge "Please connect a Dell 90W AC adapter or higher for best system operation". I have purchase a new Dell battery and Dell AC adapter and still have the same problem.

Then suddenly tonight it started giving me the error above: '' The battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge. I tried troubleshooting my uninstalling and reinstalling the Lenovo Power Manager. I also updated the BIOS. Neither of those gave me any luck. I tried getting rid of the microsoft acpi-compliant control method battery, but that keeps coming back.
just got a slice battery 42T4739 for T430. I am getting an error - The battery installed is not supported by this system and wil not charge. Please replace the battery with correct lenovo battery for this system.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I have a 3 year old Dell Inspiron 1520, the battery recently went dead. Cant charge and cannot hold a charge. Runs fine with the ac adaptor plugged in without moving it.
However I can not play games on it that I have been able to play before. Is this because I am running solely on the ac adaptor?
I can barely touch my charger it is so hot, it is one of the new slimmer blocks. It is seriously hot and nowhere near the temperature of my friends Vaio block.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI've had my D630 for over 1,5 years now and having grown tired of lugging the 65W PA-12 adapter to work and back, I'm thinking of buying an extra adapter, so the new one would stay stationary at home and the 65W one at work and on the move, if neccesary.
I know a safe bet would be the 90W PA-10 chunky brick but looking ahead (hint E6400), I'm thinking the E-series 90W flat brick would be a better choice. D and E series chargers voltages/amperages match but will the E series one work reliably?
Both choices can be had for the same money
Having great difficulty trying to find one that will plug into the cigerrette lighter socket in a car. Could really do with one as I spend quite a bit of time on the road, and being able to use the laptop would help kill time (obviously i wouldn't be driving whilst doing this )

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Latitude E6400 which uses Dell's 90w Charger PA-10 which is a 90w 4.62A and 19.5V.
I have been looking for a second power supply, but before I drop the money on a new one. I also have an old Inspiron which uses a the 130w Dell Charger, it is a 6.7A power supply, and the same 19.5V as my Latitude Charger.
Could I use this charger with my Latitude without causing damage? I am just a little concerned about the Amperage being higher than my current charger.
My battery charger doesn't charge and the blue light isn't turning on.
Is it safe to assume that it is dead?
Are there any tests I can do to verify if that's the case?
I've had it for a year and 3 months, is that the typical life of a battery charger?
Hoping for some insight.
I have a 90w Dell charger that came with my studio XPS 13 (6 cell).
If I was to use this charger on a 3 cell Dell Inspiron Mini 12, can this seriously damage the 3-cell battery, or are the chargers smart enough to know what type of battery they're charging?
I was just wondering if someone could help me solve a power problem with my laptop. I have an old Latitude Cpi laptop which stopped working when the AC charger is plugged in.
If I remove the charger, the laptop boot up without problem, but when I connect it back again it will stop imediately.
The LED on the charger stays on green steadily, so I suppose it's a problem on the motherboard. Removing the battery and using another AC charger didn't help neither.
About three weeks ago, I came in to the machine to begin my day. The machine had been plugged and charging through the night, status=Hibernated. This is my common practice. I immediately noted the Charger light on the hinge was blinking alternately white then three or four quick red blinks rather than the usual steady white when the charger is plugged in.
I interpreted it as some sort of alarm; but after an exhaustive look, running diagnostics, searching DELL website and viewing the User manuals, I cannot find an answer.
· I checked the Windows 7 battery app and the DELL Battery Meter and “Battery Health” showed the battery to be performing normally.
· I went to DELL support and ran the battery diagnostics which were OK.
· The problem is seen always several hours of charging with no activity; and it is intermittent. It has happened several times since the first time. It happened again this morning.
· I made the assumption that the red light was a warning and the battery was failing or in trouble – no.
· Then I thought it might be due to overcharging. If so, shouldn’t the problem be every time I leave it on overnight?
· Note my solution: If I unplug the machine and go on battery power when the red light is blinking and do work on the machine, when the battery goes down 10% or so, the red blinking light stops.
· My machine is otherwise working well.
The probleme is that when i plug the charger into the wall, there is a green light on the charger. As soon I plug the charger into the laptop, nothing is happening (+) plus its flicking off the light on the charger
I tried several DELL charger and it did all the same senario.
I've got a Vostro 1500 and the specs for Dell's charger/adapter can be found here: http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...html/specs.htm
Dell's charger: 90W, 19.5V, 4.62A
Is it ok if I use a 90W, 19.5V, 3.34A charger instead? I'm using it right now, charger getting hot though. What do you think? Is it safe to continue using this charger with lower amp rating?
Do you have to send the defective one in? If so, I'm not going to bother with getting a replacement.
View 13 Replies View RelatedMy Dell XPS M1530 just shut down on me. When I plug the charger into the laptop, the green light on the charger turns off, just like it wasn't plugged into the wall outlet.
I tried a second charger, and the light on that one just blinks in rapid succession. I've tried booting it up without the battery and with a replacement battery with the same results.
So now my laptop can't start up and I'm not sure what's going on.
How do i have my screen stay bright after i have taken out my charger.
