I need the static IP address so I can't disable write a random IP address, but I don't want the employee going online on these computers.
I can't also use parnteal control because, for some reson, it stops my main program from working.
Machine will connect to the wireless network, but will not connect to the internet.
Have rebooted, hard-rebooted, and uninstalled/reinstalled all network adapter drivers.
I just purchased a HP laptop 13-c004TU (I think -- too small to read). It is seeing my home wireless internet and listing on available networks. I have typed in my security key, yet it is still saying that it cannot connect to that network. I have been on the phone with my ISP and they cannot see why it does not connect. Usually, in these cases, I would hard-cable it to the router, but the laptop does not have an appropriate connection port. Obviously, being new, it is Win 8.1 ..........

I shipped it in and it took about a week and they placed an order to begin processing a shipment for a replacement. The replacement shipped out on Thursday. I had to do my own investigating to get a tracking number because the reps were useless.
I go to FedEx to check the number and find out its getting overnighted (YES!) but then to my horror, I noticed it's getting this to an old address I lived at YEARS ago. The thing I find funny about this is that, even when the laptop was replaced the first time, nothing was shipped to that address it was shipped to me at school. When I received the box to ship in my current unit to repair, it was sent to my current address. I have no clue where they got this address .....
I am using a Wireless lan long range usb adapter from Engeniustech called EUB-362EXT product. I entered the mac address in the firmware of my router and any place in my house I can pick up a wireless signal. This device will pick up a wifi signal and amplify it so all I do is connect the EUB-362EXT unit to a strong antenna and I can pick up a signal in my basement but the router is on my second floor.
I would like to use the same setup on my laptop when I am on the road because the internal wifi of the laptop is weak. I can disable the internal wifi but would like to know how I can create a a wifi network profile in my laptop that will allow me to enter the mac address of the adapter. I am using Windows XP sp2.
How can I resize the address bar or reduce the font size? I am using an HP 15, running Windows 8.1. This bar is huge! It is using up too much screen space.

I modify the value of "localy administrated MAC" in the broadcom 802.11g wireless adapter properties.
But when I ask Windows the mac address, it shows me the original MAC of my adapter.

I get the 'Limited Connectivity' message in Vista 64. It seems to happen for larger files transfers only.

Taskbar icon for Gigabit Network Connection shows "No Internet Access". But Internet access works fine. But, since the driver thinks there is no access, I have to disable WiFi to force the laptop to use the wired LAN. Device Manager says everyhting works fine. Driver update says I have the latest driver (12.10.29.0 dated 2014-05-02). My T430 with the same adapter works fine. What do I do? Only difference between T530 and T430 is the T530 is in a dock.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIm having a problem trying to get my built in mic working. I have a new Studio 17 with the Creative Sound enhancement option, not the sound card just the Creative Audigy software.
when I try to record voice, I can barely hear my voice over the noise which sounds like a mixture of static, and buzzing mixed in. However, I can play mp3's perfectly with no hiss or static. So the playback is working fine.
When I plugged an external mic in the static is gone. I'd like to be able to use the built in mic when possible so I dont have to take the external one along with me.
I noticed on my system that I have an IDT High Definition sound package, as well as the Creative Audigy sound enhancing software with mixer console, including EAX special effects, etc, to enhance the sound.
Anyone know what could be causing the noise on the mic? I've searched the forum and cant find a problem identical to this so Im sorry if theres a post that explains how to fix this, I cant find it.
I can adjust my sound with both the IDT HD mixer console, and the Creative Audigy sound mixer as well. But I cannot eliminate or find the cause of this static.
I got a newer Sigmatel Audio driver but that didnt elminate the problem so I set the system back to the way I got it.
I thought about buying the X fi Xtreme sound card as I do a lot of karaoke singing and need to have the music mixed with voice so I can record it but this static problem has me baffled. And they want $80 for that little sound card. I could ignore it but the laptop is brand new and it should be static free. I eliminated ac hum as the source by unplugging the ac adapter and ran on battery alone, and static was the same it made no difference.
Some combination of this laptop and the included Dell earbuds causes major static issues. Here's what I've tried so far:
M1330 speakers: I don't hear any static, but the speakers aren't particularly high quality anyway.
M1330 + earbuds: I can hear static the moment I plug the earbuds in... In fact, it's so overpowering I can hear it even while I'm listening to music.
M1330 + Altec Lansing headset: I couldn't hear any static at all, so I was thinking that it was just crappy earbuds, but..
I own MBP for 1 year and recently started to notice that if I place Hand on aluminium parts I get constant static electricity shocks! If it's matters I use MOSHI covers on palmrest area

I'm not if it has something to do with the type of headphones that I am using (I have two sets of Creative earphones that I got together with my XPS M1210 and 1530).

Tried different headphones,latest drivers nothing worked. Dell has sent an engineer to look at the problem. He replaced entire motherboard but the noise is still there. I tried Bluetooth headphones and external sound card but this hissing noise is always there in the background. I am thinking about getting another one after refund but not sure if this static noise is present in all models or was this only one off.

The pitch of the scratchy sound varies with screen brightness.

its happening on my SR, so here goes:
Recently I've found 2 things:
1- my hard drive makes a very soft clicking noise, only noticeable when the room is perfectly quiet. but it's also noticeable because my system locks when it clicks for this split second, enough that if im scrolling it lags. not a biggie but...
2- ive found my audio (mp3s) to be skipping (odd click or blip here or there, like the track was ripped badly), and to my ear's horror, PURE STATIC for a few seconds will pop up irregardless of the volume settings (ie. i will try to scroll down volume in itunes but it has no effect on the banshee like sound thats trying to destroy my ear drums).
This happens in WMP and iTunes, so its not a software problem....
so whats going on? hdd dying? sound card dying? windows?
I have a VGN-NS135E and at random times there is a staticy sound coming from the speakers like bad reception on a radio. It happens randomly it seems regardless if i'm listening to music or not.
It happens with the volume on and on mute. I can hear audio just fine. When the speakers decide to make that static noise the audio is clear, just mixed with static
I just got an HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop a few days ago and everything is great, except for this static noise coming from the speaker. It kind of sounds like when you have your TV on a blank screen, but you have the volume as high as it goes. Every now and then there's a little pop or crack sound too. Some important things to note:
- It was a refurb
- The noise immediately stops when the volume is muted
- All drivers are up to date
- If I go into the volume settings, I can slide the volume all the way over to the right side, and the noise stops, but any amount of volume going through the left side and the noise is back
- The noise is the same at any volume level
- If I plug in headphones, there is no noise through the headphones, it only happens on the speakers
At first I thought it wasn't anything big, just a driver update or just a matter of breaking the laptop in, but now after a few days it's starting to get annoying. I don't want to leave the sound on mute all the time, and even when I am listening to audio I can still hear this noise.
So my dv5t has Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed a while back and I've noticed that there's a lot of static, popping, crackling noises that randomly occurs during playback. I have the latest audio driver, IDT 6.10.6242.0. There's no power management turned on and I don't know what else to do.

However, my AMD HDMI Output is greyed out and static, or as I understand from other complainers; NOT PLUGGED IN. What can I do to solve this problem. It is a problem for when I open the Stereo Mix High Depfinition Audio Codec, a shrieking noise leaves me depth, and it eats the volume all up.

Ever since I got the laptop over a year ago, the audio was never working properly for me. Every time a sound was played there would be a staticky sound played with the audio.
The same thing happens when I use headphones with it. The laptop is also out of warranty so I don't know what to do.
For the Yoga 2 Pro owners out there, how much static do you have in your headphone jack? I am loving everything about this laptop except for some noticeable static at low volumes and some backlight bleeding at the bottom of the screen. I have tried two different headsets, my Senheiser HD 280 Pros and my Etymotic earbuds.

if anyone has had sound issues with their DV5? I have the current bios F13 and have un-installed and reinstalled sound drivers and such. What is happening is the sound will randomly make a static boom noise and then go away and then do it again.. i have checked my external speaks and have even replaced them thinking it was them.. it is not since it is happening with my onboard speakers as well. So this static boom sound is a constant annoyance along with music sounding rather off/staticy..
