I have a HP 14 bo 15dx running Win 8.1. No matter what I do it still muted even if I go in and manually move the sound bar up. Keyboard button is not on. I have tried reinstalling the drivers via the recovery files. Mutiple scans with virus and malware software.

This problem started after updating my audio driver on my HP Pavilion dv6 7039tx laptop. I noticed that the volume has been muted and a message reads out no speakers or headphones have been connected. After using the windows troubleshooter the troubleshooter detects that "the hardware changes might not have been detected".
I have now already rollbacked the driver uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times rebooted my PC too but nothing seems to work. In the device manager it detects my IDT high definition codec devices. I strongly feel there is something wrong in the registry since this is not a hardware problem. Even in the HP Support troubleshooter it does not detect my audio devices. I dont know what to do I really dont want to restore my PC .....
I have a new T440 running win 7 pro 64bit. The audio is not working.
When I first boot, the sound icon in the task bar shows that the system is muted, but the mute button (f1) is not lit.
-If I press the mute button the light goes on and the indicator on the task bar shows the system is no longer muted.
-If I have sound playing, when I toggle from the light on and the tray indicating not in mute to the ligt off and the tray indicating the system is in mute, I get a split second sound.
I have installed the realtek device drivers
I have installed the lenovo system update and all of the critical and reccomended updates.
The device manager indicates that everything is working properly.
For a while now the mute button on my dv6-2155dx laptop stays orange all the time - whether the sound is muted or unmuted. How do I fix this?? It works when you press it, the color just never changes...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing several audio issues with my laptop. Firstly, my laptop stopped playing audio unless I disable then enabling the IDT HD audio CODEC. I then tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it only to find that the drivers i found weren't compatible. Then I tried the recovery manager and when I restart the notebook it encountered a problem and I lost audio and my Beats enhancement.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHere is a brief description of my problem. I have a e1505 w/ a Core Duo (1.66GHz, T2300) My power adapter is reported to me "unknown" by the laptop. (total BS as i know the thing works) and then QuickSet tells me my battery needs to be replaced (this was too soon, so it leads me to believe that the power adapter did something to the battery) But I can't replace those right now. So i'm stuck at a multiplier of 6 (and yes i've disabled all the power saving features in the bios, but the wired thing is windows reports the real speed while other programs such as CoreTemp and CPU-Z report it at being just under 1GHz?)
And to get these things brand new would cost ~$120 (battery and adapter) So is there anyway I can get around the stupid limitation dell has imposed until i can find replacements for these? And, where is a good place to get replacements that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
I have an Acer Aspire One with OS Win XP. This morning I went in the Power Management and decided to try Hibernate. I went away for a moment. When I returned, the On Switch was still green, but nothing worked. Black screen, HD dead like everything else. I tried F-Alt-F4 to no avail !

My Lenovo Thinkpad X220T emits very strange, high-pitched sounds during the startup of Skype -- even if I mute the speakers. The pattern of the sound is always the same, indicating something that Skype must be doing each time it starts.
This video was filmed with a Samsung Galaxy S, and you might need headphones/good speakers to hear the sound. Despite of quite a lot of noise (the computer fan), there are no other loud sounds to break your hearing with -- so crank up the volume.
I was wondering if there is a permanent way to disable the touchpad on this y510p. I hate hitting fn f6 every boot, wake from sleep, etc.
I checked the registry in hklm microsoft windows currentversion run but didn't see any prefixes of syn* in any of the entries. I checked into RTFTrack.exe and that seems to be the camera. Is there a way I can disable this touchpad permanently?

I'm not entirely sure what causes them to stop working, but if I remember correctly, the first time I remember it happening was after I had my computer plugged into the TV via an HDMI cable. Since then, the speakers seem to come and go. I think restarting my computer usually brings them back, but I was curious if there was another way to fix them other than that and if I could do something to keep this from happening in the future. Also, I'm interested in finding out why this is happening to my PC.

Over the past few weeks, my sound has been going off and I don't know why. Rebooting makes the sound work again. I tried adjusting the power settings to never enter sleep as one person suggested, but that didn't work. So just now I rebooted and then plugged it into my tv using the hdmi and the sound stopped and I had to reboot. I am connecting it to the same tv using the same hdmi cable as many times before.

The left side speaker (Only the left side) of my laptop is working intermetently. Sometimes it's working, sometimes not. When I tried to tap hard the laptop near the left speaker, sometimes it work but a crackling sound or not clear sound is coming. Should I replace the speaker or a wire inside is loose?

There is no sound working on my HP and when I try to test it there is a window that shows up saying there is another program running even though I just started up the laptop. The icon on the computer for volume also will not "mute" when I push the button to mute it.
since the past week, whenever i plug my headphones into my laptop sound comes through BOTH the laptop speakers and my headphones. It was working perfectly fine last week. My laptop doesn't have a Realtek driver, it has IDT with beats. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers, and if I had realtek i would be able to change the settings.

The volume is consistently low and has a very annoying reverb and echo effect, even with those settings turned off. I have only had it for a week, and I have been very pleased with everything else accept the audio. The reason for purchasing this model was for multi-media processing and so far I and becoming more disgusted daily with it. It is a Pavilion dv6 and it has the beat audio software.

Since purchasing, I have been able to mute the sound and turn it back on with no trouble, but now when I unmute the sound, nothing happens. The sound icon and the Volume Mixer all show that the sound is working and is set at the highest volume, but nothing comes out. Given that this laptop has beatsaudio, it's frustrating.

On CONTROL panel i select SOUND.
I do not have the HDMI Output listed under “Playback” tab, right click in the playback window and select Show Disabled Device and Show Disconnected Device. And still it didnt show the HDMI output. :/
Under Playback It shows only Speakers and Headphones. (Still after selecting Shoe disabled device and Disconnected Device). Under recording Stereomix and microphone.
What would fix this? Its my laptop missing any file/ program or driver? Or is there problem with audio card or display card?

There's plenty of advice online and Utube about digitizing audiocassettes with a laptop, a patchcord and a piece of software, such as Audacity. I have tried this with a Sony Walkman cassette player but cannot get Audacity to "hear" the cassette's output. I have tried with another software also...same non-result.
The Aspire only has the headphone jack to receive a signal. Am I failing to set a parameter on the software...or on my Windows 8.1 machine, to be able to do this, or am I attempting the impossible? The Utube gurus make it seem so simple!
