Last night I did a factory reset of my system and when I set my machine back up and logged into it, it says that the hdd now has a max cap of 104gb, when the true cap is 1tb.

I already tried reinstalling windows to factory, same issue. Also installed Linux to see if it was a specific problem with Windows, same issue.

Now according to my calculation there should be 9.74GB free space on C: but as you can see it's showing only 3.88GB!
I have just upgraded from Windows 7 RTC Ultimate to Windows 7 RTM pro.
The weird things is, that there are two hidden partitions:
There are two hidden partitions and they have both 100% free disc space. I know one of them is the recovery from Acer, but it says nothing of the disc space is used !
Luckily, I have a recovery CD.

I have a Dell Mini 9, and it is steadily and repeatedly losing what little disk space I have. I ran AVG and panda security and got nothing.
I've done disk cleanup and cleared the history, cache, cookies, and restore points. It's STILL losing space. It'll go up when I restart but then immediately start dropping.
There are no games or music or movies on this thing. I even took all my text files out. The only programs that were added after I got it were office, firefox, and avg.
The space bar on my kb works, but if I hit it on the far right or far left corner it does not register.
if I may be able to bend the button's switch up a little so it's more sensitive.
I'm trying to figure out the difference between the two other than the casing (one's metal and one's plastic). The 2140 uses a SATA connector vs a PATA connector. So for $25 extra(lowest config 2140 vs highest config 1000) you get a metal case and SATA connector?
Why would anyone buy the 1000? Am I missing something? Oh and the 2140 has a higher volatage adapter for 'fast charging'...what's left for the 1000?
I've read some threads that the HP DV4T can have up to 8GB memory, but the spec on the HP website says that 4GB is max. So can I upgrade the DV4t to 6GB or 8GB memory? Will they be recognized?

Sending my brand new ENVY back for service (on its first day...boo) but baffled as to what might cause this.
Everything works fine on the system except for a handful of keyboard keys:
Space
Enter
Backspace
Up/down arrows (left and right are fine)
Possibly alt (tough to test without the others)
Space bar will send a combination of characters, like zzc^X^Z if you press it a few times (often one press will send all of those characters, while other presses send nothing).
I have had my dv5t 6 days. Every time I check, there is less and less space and I am doing nothing really but surfing and e-mailing, and trying to get the TV tuner to work right. lLast night there was 177GB free, shut it down and went to bed. Checked it after a half hour or so this morning and there was 175 GB, now here I sit in the library and I just checked it again after e-mailing and downloading a 2mb file, and there is 173 GB free. I haven't even begun to use it. Juse a few days ago there was 183.

this laptop fixer i had met extended my D: (HP RECOVERY) drive by a lot and i shrank it 10 gb. now the 10 gb of unallocated space is located beside D: to the right problem is C: is to the left of D: which means i can not extend C: to gain those 10 gb because D: is in the way...

SYSTEM, C:, D:, unallocated space (10gb), and HP TOOLS
Figured the G60T was sufficient, cheaped out on everything, 3GB memory. Loaded everything up and started receiving blue screen in Vista. Reloaded from factory image and still seems to be flaky. I ran memtest 86+ (failed in test 5 and 8) and windows diagnostic tools failed ERAND test. I think the memory is okay as they test fine separately so either timing off or bus or something else is messed. One week of frustration with HP support. Bottom line HP answer is if the BIOS memory test runs okay, then everything is okay. What a hassle. Anyone know if there is some quirk that would have the tests fail but everything be okay? I guess we'll return but printer and other rebates were bundled in along with cash back.

For a year this laptop works well (from date of purchase passed just over a year). Warranty expired in August 2014. (At the moment the guarantee is not performed). I have a Latitude D610 and I had to replace the motherboard and now it shows the incorrect Service Tag, I can not figure out how to put the correct "Service Tag" in to it. I have reviewed many posts here and still no luck. I have tried asset.com and it says tag not correct and Make Sure setup password's are disabled. I really hate to ask but I don't have no where else to turn, and yes the computer is out of warranty.

The Pamphlet explains that the discs should be labeled 1 2 3 and all (Ive checked an order of 100 T430s and the first 17 boxes are all wrong) contain 2 x #1 and a #2 - I have looked in the old lab and found older shipments that all contain similar 1 1 2 instead of 1 2 3 .
View 2 Replies View Relatedthis is a popup i'm getting everytime i boot up now. it started happening after i went through msconfig to disable some things at startup. it doesn't seem to be comromising anything in use but i am curious what it is and how to make it stop.
and on an unrelated note, i'm wondering if i can't get more room out of my HD. my model is advertised at 320, but only shows 286 available. i know it's always less than whats advertised but that seems like more than usual. i also have used up about 250 in files and programes yet only have 13.6gb left. i've turned off restore point, could there be anything else bogging down my HD that i can't see? also is there a way to clear out the recovery drive and add on the free space to my c drive?
I just updated my Acer Aspire 5735 notebook from 3gb DDR2 to 4gb DDR2. The bios now detects 4gb total as does Vista's System Page (Control Panel/System in Ultimate 64bit)
However when i go to task manager/performance my total physical memory shows up as 3000MB and the Physical Memory Usage graph seems to reflect this 3gb total.
Is there something I need to do to get vista to detect and utilise the 4gb total?

In which I am use to seeing a Bios screen labled Bios. The diagnostic ran but and passed everything except my hard drive. It recognizes and list on the Blue screen HDD Fixed and list a number. BUT under my diagnostic ut list the following code. 2000-0151 Vadlidation 62721 Msg : Hard Drive 0- #########, incorrect status =3E.
Do I need a new hard drive or does this mean I have bad sectors?
Using Windows 7 on an Inspiron N5110. Get a black screen when system loads indicating a previous incorrect shutdown, with the options to load Safe or Normal. But the system will not accept any of these options, as a matter of act, the system will not accept anything.
