I've got a problem with a Compaq C700. When the laptop is powered on the LCD is showing a screwed up image, when I plug an external monitor in the picture is fine on that screen. I purchased a replacement screen, but that shows the same image.
View 3 RepliesI just recently removed vista and upgraded to Win7 32 bit. I tryed to add 4gb of RAM, due to the factory 1gb it came with. Â However got a Blue screen Error. Â After that I only installed 1 of/ 2gb stick of RAM and it worked.Â

My question is, I need 4gb of RAM for this c700, Should I update the Bios for Win 7. By doing so will the c700 allow me to install the 4gb of RAM and work? Â
On my DV5z and its a little bit screwy. But i didnt know i wouldnt be able to boot to recovery using f11 after doing it and now i cant restore my pc back to Vista because i never made restore Disks. I still have my drive D folder and wanna know how to make a new disk using just that.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI broke the hinge of the laptop's lcd. I replace the hinge, there was a cable that was broken, I realize that cable was not related to the lcd since it was connect to the wireless network chip.
I made sure all the lcd cable are plug in the laptop motherboard.
On the back of the lcd, there was white tape and it said do not touch, I accidentally touch this by mistake. I don't know if this is really serious.
Now, the laptop does not have any picture, but the light is on, the lcd has a grayish color, its like its about to load, but no image comes up.
This issue occurred during the hinge breaking.
I hope I didn't break the lcd.
Model is dv2037us.
The laptop is fine if I hook it up to a monitor via vga port.
When I replaced my customer's screen on their COmpaq- CQ62-219WM and it showing up black. When I shine a flashlight in it I can see the start menu and whatnot. Â That means that I need to file a RMA right? I am guessing because the blacklight is out.

I was thinking about getting a mini-PCI firewire card like this one [url] and putting that into the mini-PCI slot that normally houses the WLAN card. I'd really like firewire on this laptop.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have seen my notebook (p/n GY394AV) reach 199F internal with the CPU's operating at 192F. This generally happens when I'm doing large-scale printing and dealing with large RAW images. But at idle times or when doing basic tasks such as Email and playing music It will run anywhere between 160-185F(Both CPU and internal). Is this normal? I am using Speed Fan and HWMonitor to get these numbers. I don't have any other programs running in the background.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 5 compaq presario c700 laptops, but i can only use one for wifi!!?? I have down loaded all the networking drivers from this site but the Atheros AR5007 802.11bg wi-fi adapter will not install stating 'driver is not intended for this platform' . I can put the hard drive that works with the wi-fi into any of the machines and the wifi works ok on all machines.
All of the wi-fi cards are the same. I had sorted this problem before but i have forgotten how i done it.
My laptop has been very happily connecting wirelessly for many years and all of a sudden in the last 2 days it is refusing to connect wirelessly saying there are no wireless networks. the wireless button is turned on and all other devices in the house connect. I have tried wired via an ethernet cable and all is fine. I have tried updating the driver and backing out to the previously installed driver and neither resolves the issue.

We just got my gf's laptop from dell this week. I start it up and notice that something is wrong.
The touchpad icon in the taskbar shows that the right click on the touchpad is pressed, all the time. Everytime i move the mouse over the desktop, the right click menu comes up ....
the previous m4400 mouse driver wouldnt recognise the middle button....and now the new one dated 4th january wont recognise it either !!! this is getting really annoying...

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the Y510P with Windos 8.1, latest graphic drivers. I'm connecting it to my HD TV via HDMI and the image doesn't fit well in my TV, it's a little zoomed in. I've been searching for a solution in all the menus from Intel's HD 4600, nVIDIA's Control Panel, Windows scaling... NOTHING works. I have another laptop and it has an option that scales the image and the TV shows what is supposed to show.

Just got this Lpatop, popped battery in, plugged it in. I turn it on, keyboard backlight comes on, the fans spin up, nothing comes on the screen. Nothing is coming out of the HDMI port, really frustrated at this point as this is the second Acer laptop i bought that had issues (granted first one was used so I gave Acer a pass).Â

Anything I can do to fix this or is it just dead and send it back?
My Acer Aspire V3 laptop (with Windows 8) stopped working and I tried to reset it but it fails after around 50% operation. I tried both reset and refresh options both not working. I dont have a recovery disc. I created one in another laptop(Toshiba)running Windows 8. Now I want to boot from the recovery media but it is not doing it. I tried to press F2 key on the start to get the bios screen but it is not showing and showing the Automatic repair screen with Advanced options.

Whenever I try to turn on my laptop, it shows me dell logo and then it goes black... booting process is still on..and if you see screen in bright light you can see the process..
Now initially i thought that i need to replace my screen but it is showing dell logo so i am pretty sure that screen works fine, now my laptop does have the problem of overheating. is that is a problem????
and my laptop screen attachment to main body is not perfect too.
There is an image of a black square with an up arrow on the lower right corner of my screen. Sometimes it has a line though it.

Then I press Power button and shutdown it, after some time when I start it again, its start working normally.
Once system starts its start working without showing any hardware or software problem whenever I shutdown or restart, sometime its start working sometime its continue beeping without showing any error.
Cannot do F12 to do Dell factory Image because of black screen. Therefore am not able to make any choices relevant to accomplish the deed?
