HP Compaq Presario C700 Networking :: Driver Not Intended For This Platform
Mar 5, 2014
I have 5 compaq presario c700 laptops, but i can only use one for wifi!!?? I have down loaded all the networking drivers from this site but the Atheros AR5007 802.11bg wi-fi adapter will not install stating 'driver is not intended for this platform' . I can put the hard drive that works with the wi-fi into any of the machines and the wifi works ok on all machines.
All of the wi-fi cards are the same. I had sorted this problem before but i have forgotten how i done it.
I can't get my presario c700 to connect to the internet. only get local connection. I have tried using compaq's website, microsoft, and atheros website. Nothing is working. I've downloaded a bunch of different drivers. I've found multiple forums with links to drivers that worked, but when I click on them they can't be found. Getting extremely frustrated. All of my other devices connect fully so I know its not my router. Â Â Compaq Presario C700 Atheros AR5007
I have a compaq presario, product name "Presario C700" and p/n "FE934UA#ABA." The operating system is Windows Vista. I have internet from Comcast and the router I am using is Netgear. I recently moved to a new place and am having trouble connecting to the Wifi at home. I've had this laptop for several years now and have been able to connect to some wifi in the past, but there have been times when I haven't been able to connect to wifi in some public places. I am able to connect to the wifi on my phone and another laptop but not this one. I have tried resetting the router and numerous other steps but nothing seems to resolve the problem. Every time I try to connect, it says that the signal strength is excellent, but it is unable to identify the network and says that "the router is unavailable." I have already called my router company but they were not able to resolve the problem. The only way I can connect to the internet is using an ethernet cord.
I am so much happier with this notebook than I was with my Presario C714NR.
Why; Upgraded Intel GMA 4500M 768MB Max VRAM VS. 384MB on C700 GMA x3100 Upgraded support for 8GB Max Memory VS. 3GB with the C700 **Some G/CQ's can only handle 4GB 15.6" Screen not really a big deal from the 15.4" C700 HDMI Port VS. none on the C700 Media Card is standard in the G series.. VS. optional in C700 series. Discrete Graphics offerings available for the G series and CQ-Series VS. integrated only C700 G/CQ offers shiny black top finish. C700 More grainy finish. Better gaming performance, however, not really a gaming laptop.
HP has made some great improvements to the Compaq offering, however compaq will always lack some of the premium features like FingerPrint reader......
I was thinking about getting a mini-PCI firewire card like this one [url] and putting that into the mini-PCI slot that normally houses the WLAN card. I'd really like firewire on this laptop.
i have Compaq Presario C700 Notebook PC and the oporating system was vista (when i brought it) and degrade it to XP and no sound was in it i followed the steps on the page [url]and now the sound work but no input I.G. no microphone just sound.
I just recently removed vista and upgraded to Win7 32 bit. I tryed to add 4gb of RAM, due to the factory 1gb it came with.  However got a Blue screen Error.  After that I only installed 1 of/ 2gb stick of RAM and it worked.  My question is, I need 4gb of RAM for this c700, Should I update the Bios for Win 7. By doing so will the c700 allow me to install the 4gb of RAM and work? Â
My laptop has been very happily connecting wirelessly for many years and all of a sudden in the last 2 days it is refusing to connect wirelessly saying there are no wireless networks. the wireless button is turned on and all other devices in the house connect. I have tried wired via an ethernet cable and all is fine. I have tried updating the driver and backing out to the previously installed driver and neither resolves the issue.
I have an Presario CQ57-383SQ and in device manager, network controller has no driver and i can`t find it and my WI-FI doesn't work it shows that is disabled from device manager i thins it is because of the network controller driver. Â And one more....PCI device has no driver and I don't know where to find it.
I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ56 notebook computer. It was set up correctly when I bought it, everything worked perfectly. I somehow managed to get a virus which prevented me from even turning on my computer (Which is odd, because I'm not an idiot with computers, and I know what not to download/sites to visit), so I had to reset my computer back to stock, I used my Windows 7 disk, formatted the partitions and installed windows again.
Now, for some reason it won't connect wirelessly to the internet. It connects when I have an ethernet cable plugged in, but it won't find any networks, as shown in this screen shot:
I'm not sure what's causing it, but I guess it must be a driver issue? Â Here's another screenshots :
It works fine when I have my laptop plugged into the internet, when I'm at uni, but when I come home on a weekend I can't bring my laptop back, because I only have WiFi back home.
I use compaq presario cq43. my wifi button(f12) and few other buttons like insert, delete is not working.  How can i turn my wifi on. is there any possible way to enable the hardware button ....
Basically just moved house and got Eircom broadband installed, my girlfriends laptop connected automatically, whereas my Compaq CQ60 Presario Notebook WindowsVista will not connect.I have checked so many different forums trying to fix this problem, but to no avail im afraid... it looks like there is an excellent internet connection.... but cannot go on the internet because it says "Unidentified Network local access only" Â The router I have is "atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi adapter", and the o/s I have on my laptop is Windows Vista 32 bit. Â In our previous residence we had UPC broadband, and I had no problems at all connecting.
I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 Laptop which has worked fine up until this morning as i cannot connect to the internet with wireless. I have re-started my laptop and checked the settings but i keep getting the same message telling me to turn the wireless on. The F12 is orange and remains orange and will not turn on or change colour.
I have a Compaq Presario CQ61-313us notebook, and i've just installed windows 8.1, then i realized there was a problem with my Internet, every time i open a website, i always get either a page like this: [URL] ... , or i get "Error: Gateway Timeout", though i can get to the website if i refresh a few times, but it's extremely slow.
Also, i can't download anything, I've been trying to download the .NET Framework 3.5 through Windows Features and windows Update, but in vain. I think that proves that the problem isn't from IE. I also think that it's the wireless driver's fault, but i'm not sure, and i don't know what driver to download. I tried updating it from the properties meny, but it says it's up to date. My wireless adaptor is Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 802.11b|g|n, V3.0.1.155.
Update: I think it's worth noting that when i download with utorrent, it downloads normally with my regular download speed, but other than that, i can't download anything.
I'm converting my lap top from vista to xp pro: mobo: Quanta 30d3 compaq presario F504eu
I've managed to install some of the drivers for my laptop but 2 yellow question marks are still in my device manager - under "other devices" there's a yellow question mark next to "unknown device" and "video controller (VGA compatible)"
hp's website doesn't list the nvidia driver or any other, as for the unknown device - well i'll find out about that later no doubt!
where i can
1. get my video driver 2. a complete list of driver downloads (free)
I just bought a Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX laptop, which came with Vista installed and I need to downgrade to Windows XP (for work purposes). I can't seem to find a Windows XP driver for this model and am waiting to downgrade until I know if I need one / if there is one.
my questions are:
1) Is there a Windows XP driver for the Presario CQ60-216DX laptop?
2) If the answer to question 1 is no, is there a comparable driver to use?
I have a Compaq Presario CQ50-108NR and my computer needed a recovery, but I had accidentally formatted that part of the hard drive. So I used my Vista Ultimate disk and fresh installed it on my laptop. Because of this, I have to reinstall all of my drivers on my Laptop.
So, I went to HP's site for the drivers which was here. My priority is to get my wifi/internet working as soon as possible because I can download the rest of the drivers later. So, I download both the Atheros and Broadcom drivers for my laptop. I've installed both of them, but my Laptop still doesn't detect any wifi spots despite there being plenty around me. Also, I keep getting a notification that windows must now install drivers for hardware, yet it when I click auto detect and folder detect (folder where my drivers are), it says unable to find any. Also, here is my wifi card.
I have seen my notebook (p/n GY394AV) reach 199F internal with the CPU's operating at 192F. This generally happens when I'm doing large-scale printing and dealing with large RAW images. But at idle times or when doing basic tasks such as Email and playing music It will run anywhere between 160-185F(Both CPU and internal). Is this normal? I am using Speed Fan and HWMonitor to get these numbers. I don't have any other programs running in the background.

I've got a problem with a Compaq C700. When the laptop is powered on the LCD is showing a screwed up image, when I plug an external monitor in the picture is fine on that screen. I purchased a replacement screen, but that shows the same image.
Recently I have purchased Compaq 15-a002tu Notebook. Initially bluetooth driver was not working. The driver was installed. Now the proble is, it the Deice Manager it is showing "Bluetooth Periphrals Driver not installed" where do I locate the driver. OS is Win 7 -64 Bits.
I have a new Compaq CQ58-353EM laptop. It came with preinstalled system (Windows 8). Afterwards I installed Windows and HP updates. Â The problem I have is with the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (ethernet). In the device manager it is shown with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. In the device state it is stated:Â Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35). Â Laptop has all system and hp updates installed. Â I tried the following to resolve the problem: - 2 different bios versions (F.26 and F.25). - several add/remove/reinstall of the Realtek drivers - 2 different versions of Realtek drivers:Â 8.3.730.2012 and 8.20.815.2013 (from Realtek site). Â Ethernet is working OK under Ubuntu.
Everytime i connect to my router(linksys) it connects but shuts off immediately! I have to turn off the wifi, the turn it on again and when i try to connect to my router...it connects then shuts off just like that! It says "Connections are available" but NO connections appear! Then I repeat this step over and over again till it connects! Ofcourse after soo many failed attempts I just quit..  EDIT: I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Laptop, Compaq Presario CQ62Â
My Presario CQ57 (Windows 7 w/ AMD E-300 APU w/Radeon HD graphics) crashed and shut down the other night. Something to do with the display adapter, when I got it fired back up, my wifi wouldn't come on. When I push the wifi button (f12 key), it does nothing, and I can't find my wireless adapter listed in my Device Manager list.
I was tinkering away on my HP Compaq Pressario SQ62-220SB when I somehow deleted some drivers. Not that big of an issue, but I can't get my wireless to work again. The device messenger displays an issue with the Network Controller, which I suppose is the wireless connection.  where to get the fitting drivers? Or what to do?  Additional info: PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_8171&SUBSYS_1467103C&REV_10PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_8171& SUBSYS_1467103CPCIVEN_10EC&DEV_8171&CC_028000PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_8171&CC_0280

I have downloaded latest driver for bluetooth but whet i try to installing driver it says no bluetooth device detecting.plz solve the issue
I've just recently upgraded my system from XP to Win 7 and I've been unable to find drivers for two "base system devices". I'm on a Compaq Presario V3440TU and my CPU is a Core 2 Duo T5300, and chipset is Intel 945GM. Â The missing drivers are most probably for the Ricoh Card reader in my laptop, since I remember facing the same problem while re-installing XP once...
