I have a problem with a HP Pavilion dv4000. I have tried to repair windows, and I have also installed windows once more (over the current one to secure that no personal files is deleted).
But when starting up it reboots under loading. at the bluescreen it says "unmountable_boot_volume", and the error code is 0x000000ED.
How is the simplest way to fix this without loosing any private files?

Everytime i plug in an SD card the system Blue Screen's on me. This is running XP. So far iv'e tried these 2 versions of drivers..

one thing, During trying different drivers I once plugged in my SD card while no drivers were installed, the system still BlueScreened on me.
The first thing I did when getting the system was wipe-off Vista. I dont know if this Ricoh card reader works or not in Vista, but im starting to wonder if I have some sort of hardware problem.
For few months already I am getting irregular bluescreens announcing "Memory Parity Fail" on my FZ11E.. Most of the time it's when the computer has noticeably warmed up but not always. Sometimes there's no crash for weeks and suddenly it's here again and keep coming back several times per day.
My guess would be the memory gets overheated, probably because I upgraded from 2x512MB to a cheap pair of Corsair's 1GB. However I suspect my computer might have a tendency to get too hot by itself even if I keep it on hard surface and always on a Balanced power plan. Memory tests show no errors so I can't know for sure.
The question is, how do I find out if the problem is in RAM or the cooling system? I'm willing to buy a new pair of memory modules but want to make sure it will fix the issue.

I have a VGN-Z690. I'm trying to install XP on it. It bluescreens before I even get as far as selecting the disc to install XP on - anyone have this experience and a way around it? I've tried four xp install discs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Studio 17 with Vista Home Premium preinstalled. Im trying to install Vista Ultimate 64 bit, and when I boot from the DVD, it says Loading files, than at the end of that it shows me to screen with the Microsoft bar like its going to load windows, but then I immediately get a blue screen with the error irql not equal to or something like that.
I tried disable the flash cache in the BIOS but it still gets the blue screen as soon as it trys to enter the setup screen.
My BIOS is set to ACHI and I have not changed that.
I wanted to try out the 64 bit Vista and still have my 32 bit on it in case I run into some apps that wont run in 64 bit.
anyone have any idea what I need to do? I have a seperate logical partition that I made for the Vista 64 bit. So I have 2 partitions, a C: partition which has the Vista Home on it that came with this laptop and I was hoping to install the 64 bit onto the D: partition but Im getting the blue screen.
Do I need to do anything with the ACHI setting? I have 4 gigs of ram and would like to use it.
i got cod5: waw recently. played only multiplayer so far.
problem: it already crashed three times to a bluescreen.
i tried to change the video driver from 180.42 to stock dell 175.75. same problem.
i used no overclock. atitool off. no background processes.
i guess it is the game, cause i played cod4 for a LONG time and never had this issue. also played through bioshock, farcry2, etc. never a bluescreen there.
j just received the new Dell Latitude E6400. Now i wanted to install a fresh Windows XP incl. SP2 and whilst the installation, after the drivers were loaded a bluescreen appears.
I already have created a slipstream CD with SP3 and the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers, but that doesn't work either.
Has someone already installed XP on that notebook (i guess so). What have you done to make it work?
I just did a clean install of my Acer 5101AWLMI with TinyXp removing all partitions, now this has worked fine on all other computers I used it on. But the Acer Laptop comes up with the error message STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78a6528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000), after Windows XP loading screen. I never get to the login or desktop. I have read the [url], but it doesn't help, how am i supposed to get drivers from the manufacturer installed on the laptop when I can't get to the desktop? I have reinstalled and formated several times and even run Spinrite 6.5 to check for harddisk failes, but to no avail!
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently, my x120e began blue-screening (with error code c000021a) while Windows was starting up. However, if the computer was off for a period of time, usually about 5-10 minutes minimum, it would start up with no problems. I thought it might be overheating except for two things:
1) Once windows started up, I had no issues. No matter how much processing power I was using, it didn't bluescreen or even try to turn itself off
2) When I rebooted in safe mode and looked at what modules it was loading, it always failed after the same one (CLASSPNP.SYS)
I had heard that there were occasionally some significant driver issues with my hardware, so I did a clean re-install of Windows (Win 7 Pro, 64-bit), hoping that this would rule that out.
The issue persisted, and in fact would interfere with a Windows install disk booting into the installer. After I got the installation to complete, the previous issue continued to be present.
I did some Google searching and found that the BSOD error code c000021a is generally caused by a driver or security issue, and the usual solutions suggested are to try to use the "Last Known Good Configuration Option" for windows startup, and to update drivers. However, neither of these things have worked, as it still does this on a fresh Windows install.
I also tried running without the battery (AC power only) and without the AC power (battery only), and neither has fixed the issue.
(Side note: This was originally happening with the original 320GB hard disk that came in the machine. I was going to upgrade to an SSD anyway, and this problem has persisted with the new drive).
I pretty much messed up my VGNFZ4000, I installed (did a CLEAN install) of Windows7 RC.
Then i came to realize i could not install the Nvidia or FN keys so i decided to go back to Vista 32bits.. But i did not make my Recovery DVD soo i managed to install vista home Premium. But I obiously dont have the drivers. Ive been downloading some from the support site...however im not sure if i need all of those, or which ones?

I can boot into windows setup, but as soon as i get to "windows setup is starting windows" the laptop shuts down? i have tried different hard drives, changing the ram, trying battery only and a/c power only... all with the same result..

I have a Acer Ferrari 4000 AMD Turion 64 2GHz, and I'm trying to upgrade the internal HDD to an SDD drive (IDE interface) - it's a Photofast G-Monster-IDE SSD 90R/70W 128GB
The drive is working OK - I have conneceted it to the machine via a USB adapter, and partitioned it with no problem, I've also cloned the existing HDD onto the SSD with clonezilla.
But when I put it in the laptop it won't get past the initial splash page with "press F2 for setup" prompt and nothing happens. If I press F2 to enter the Bios, it just says "please wait" and never enters the bios configuration.
The bios version is S3A27
After using my ferrari for about 3 years now it's been with me in a lot of different places, climates, dust conditions and so forth. Lately I started to notice that the laptop was kind of hot , and the primary use of my laptop is internet browsing and office applications so no heavy cpu or gpu loads. The heat was annoying problem but not annoying enough to make me do any actions. But a week ago I noticed that when I watch flash based videos (like youtibe) laptop gets really hot and after 15-20min it just shuts off or reboots . This was annoying as shit. I tried things like putting it on a try of ice, didn't help, and since I don't believe in "gay" things like those cooling pads I decided to get to the root of the problem .
First thing I noticed was that the flow of hot air from the grill around the cpu was very weak, this gave me the hint that the radiator is probably stuck with dust. The solution I came to is simple: open the body clean it and see how it works.............
Acer Ferrari 4000.. Ive upgraded pretty much everything on it from mem to hdd.. Now I would like to buy some faster Turion from ebay and try it on my baby.. Currently I have Turion ML-30 (1.6GHz) I wonder whats fastest CPU supported by MB of this mobo ? ML-40 (2,2GHz)? Are there some specs arround on net about this stuff?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my HP Envy dv7-7250us back in May 2013, and realized that the most recent version of its Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver software is 9.17.10.2857 from November 2012. Intel's official driver is now at version 15.31.3.64.3071 (9.17.10.3071) from March 2013. I am unable to install Intel's update though, because it detects HP's version of the driver and refuses to install a generic version. However, HP's current version is very dated, and I'm running into severe performance issues in many games.
Is it possible that HP could ever bring their Intel HD Graphics 4000 drivers up to date?
I been having off and on BSOD issue and I was advided to possibly update my video driver via this site to the latest. The problem is that when I try to update it keep telling me that my laptop does not meet the minimum requirement and it would abort the update.However, I dont get why it wouldn't meet minimum requirement and it doesn't note anywhere within readme file what is the minimum requirement to install this latest video driver.

The same driver works fine on my second Inspiron 7520 / i5 (Windows 8 64bit).

I bought a manufacturer refurbished Inspiron 5720, i7 3612QM, 8GB RAM. The BIOS is currently A12. When I received it, it had a bad hard drive. Dell sent me a new hard drive under warranty, but it was blank and I had to use a recover CD to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have installed every recommended and updated driver for all of my hardware components. But, everytime I install the HD 4000 drivers, the system starts to freeze up.
The system runs fine with the Standard VGA driver, but I can't run anything that requires better graphics. I have tried installing every version and they all cause the system to freeze. Sometimes it freezes during the boot up and sometimes it will run for up to 2 minutes before freezing. And by freezing, I mean that it just stops working. Sometime if I let it just sit and wait, it will shut off automatically. Other times, it just stays frozen for hours and I have to hold down the Power button to turn it off. When it restarts, it boots to the Safe Mode option screen. I then have to boot to safe mode and restore the system to a previous recovery state.
I have an InspironR Special Edition 7520 and my AMD 7760 2GB will not activate or do any graphics processing. It is stuck on the Intel Graphics. I am running windows 8.
-My laptop is set on high performance and is plugged in.
-I ran NovaBench and it used the intel graphics card
-FurMark detected Intelgraphics as my main graphics card
-I ran a small game called "Slender: The Arrival" on the lowest settings it could barely handle it
-During the game and the graphics run I had Catalyst Control Center Up and it showed 0% usage of the graphics card, indicating it failed to switch
- All the drivers are up to date, per the windows solution and from downloading them from the AMD website.
I would like a solution to either, have the switch start working, or to change a setting so only the graphics card is constantly used. If this does not work I fear I'll have to return the laptop for faulty hardware.
When I click on the DVD-RAM drive (E, there is no "Format" option available (missing).
That means that when inserting a blank DVD or CD media in the drive, I cannot format using the operating system format option; however, I can burn DVDs under other (3rd party) media editing programs.
How can I add the "Format" onto the list of other available options such as Eject etc.
By the way, the Operating System is Windows XP 64 bit (with all the latest updates) installed on a Ferrari 4000.
The DVD Drive make is MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-845S with the FD-200 firmware installed.

I have a strange issue.. the system stops charging the battery at anytime...sometimes it charges the battery properly and other time it stops at 40 % , 50 % , 90 % etc.
The battery charges to 100 % normally when Windows is off and power suply is left on...
I changed the battery but the problem still exists
While the battery charges... HP Battery Check show Good when it does not, the battery check shows Replace...
I've formatted the system and tried Vista twice and Windows 7 also and recaliberated the battery but to no success...
Is it the motherboard...
I'm currently looking into buying a new ultraportable laptop or netbook and this notebook looks like it fits my needs perfectly. My old 15.4" laptop is starting to show it's age and is becoming a pain to lug around campus all day. Plus the battery life is starting to decrease to under 1:30 hours..
Is there any word when this notebook will be available? I read that it's going to be sometime this month. How much will it be with the external DVD or Blu-ray drive? And are there going to be any other battery options other than the standard 4-cell? I'm probably only willing to purchase this notebook if it gets 4-5+ hours of battery life.. so how long do you think it will last?

I had earlier decided on the dell studio 15 but i found the hp with better config.
I got HP Pavilion dv5-1213em with windows vista home premium sp1 preinstalled ... now what stupid thing i have done ..... i did not create recovery disks and format the hard drive and create new partitions because there were only two partitions and try to install vista ultimate on it (Registered version) ... but on setup screen when it shows completing installation, after that it shows me black screen with moveable cursor ... nothing is happen .... .... so i tried to get recovery discs online ... but i did not get the link .... now i m with not usable notebook ...

It's getting hot. Very hot. My hands aren't burning, but I can feel the heat in my palms.

GPU: Here's the real problem. IT'S ON FREAKING 54C!!!
These temperatures are bloody DANGEROUS. And I'm going to be using this for gaming.
