View 6 Replies View RelatedOk after 3 days of using the 1340 I just realized the button on the top panel that you can use to increase/decrease volume stopped working. I had updated the latest drivers from Dell site but not sure if that is the reason.
Also non of the other buttons that are for DVD work either. And I know they were working when I got the laptop and only thing I have done is update with latest drivers.
can i disable the quick touch button that turn on the pc ?

Owner manuel says 3 beep codes mean possible system board failure - chipset error. As luck would have it my warranty went out in December. Does this mean the hard drive on my computer has crashed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my Lenovo Y40 on the Lenovo Web site a couple months ago and recently, to turn on, I have to press the power button twice. When I press just once, the Lenovo`s logo is displayed on the screen, but after 2 seconds everything turns off. On the second trying, finally the laptop turns on and the windows is started.
In addition, rarely the laptop stucks on the lenovo`s logo screen, being necessary to hold on the power to reset it.
My computer went through an automatic update today and now I cannot turn on the wireless with the wireless button. Do I need updated drivers too?

I just bought my HP Pavilion 360 less than a month ago and it's only been used for schoolwork and research. No virus or threats were detected. It was working fine today until I had to charge it. When it was fully charged, I turned it on and the screen just froze. I tried shutting it down by pressing the power button but it didn't work. Now, the screen's just black but the power button's lit up (meaning it's turned on). What do I do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI prefer the click approach on the Apple Macbook Air, where you can click anywhere on the trackpad to get a normal (left) click. On the Yoga 13, you can click anywhere EXCEPT the lower-right side of the button, where it instead registers a right-click. I have to be aware of where on the trackpad I can click and where I can't.
Any way to turn off the right-click area and just make the entire trackpad a left-click? I have already turned off the tap-click ability, so I'm just talking about clicks where you press the surface of the trackpad down.
L501X, working fine until this morning when I was unable to connect to the internet via my wireless connection. Two other laptops can connect as normal. If I hardwire the laptop the connection comes back. When I looked further into this I saw that the wifi was turned off. The problem is that the button in the Windows Mobility Center to turn the wifi on is greyed out and so I'm unable to turn it back on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my wifi. The button is always appearing orange, and nothing happens when I press it: no errors, no messages, no reaction at all. Therefore I cannot use wifi connection.
The laptop is kinda new: I am using it for only 2 months.
1. Product Name and Number
HP EliteBook 8560pНР LQ589AW
2. Operating System installed (if applicable)
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
3. Error message (if any)
No error messages
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
My windows crashed and I recovered it from the archive created a couple days prior to that. Archive included all hard drives data, so system was restored exactly as it was prior to the crash. I am still not sure if this caused the problem (or if the problem appeared after that): it happened a month ago, and I didn't have WiFi available back then, and only tried to turn it on a couple days ago.
Additional details:
In device manager wireless card is showing up as working normally. In adapter management wireless connection is turned on but says "no connection available". If I run the diagnostics, it asks me to turn on WIFI with a button on my laptop, which I cannot do. In mobility center it says "wireless connection is turned off". Turn on button is gray, and impossible to click on.
Things I already tried:
Reinstalled all HP drivers from the original CD;Removed WiFi card in windows device manager (deleted the device), restarted windows, installed new drivers for it, restarted again;Checked mobility center as was suggested in one of the threads found on this forum;Made a hard reset for HP laptop (removed battery, pressed on/off button for full minute).
For about a month or so my Vostro V130 has not been turning on. Upon pushing the power button, the power button itself lights up for a second at most and then cuts right off. During this time, the screen remains black and nothing else occurs. I've tried turning it on while plugged in and charging and tried turning it on after being charged an hour or so. Everything yields the same results.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with my wireless button, it remains red/orange despite touching it and restarting my laptop several times. My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV7=1135NR, it is originally installed with Windows Vista 64bit. However, i have it reformatted and change the OS to Windows7 Ultimate (32bit). And now i the wireless button wont turn blue. And also the wireless button located in the taskbar is no longer there.
Some additional background: The same problem (wireless wont turn blue) had been recurring before i had it reformatted but then i seek assistance then to HP customer assistant, and installed atheros. the problem had fixed for a while and the same problem would recur. However, i can turn it blue once i restart the laptop or when the "WLAN disabled" message would appear in the task bar and i would immediately touch the wireless button.

Laptop was working fine up until yesterday. Then this happened...
1. Pressed the power button to turn on the laptop
2.the fans run and the computer makes its usual whirring noises as it would normally do whilst booting up.
3.the screen however remains completely inactive. As if the laptop is off.
4. I turned it off and on again several times. Once it came on and worked as normal, I could access all files and backup everything.
5. This morning I turned it back on and it has done the same thing. Makes the sounds as normal but screen is inactive.
I have turned off and on again and connected an HDMI cable to an external screen but there is no signal.

View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen I touch Volume, Bass, Treble during in-game sequence (For example: GTA IV, Saints Row 2), the game minimizes to the desktop and the audio(dialogue) keeps on playing. So when I go back to the game, it takes a second to catch up with the framerate but it doesn't freeze. Yay! But my initial question is that is there a way around this? So when I touch the volume in-game sequence it doesn't minimize to the desktop?
I used to adjust the volume in-game and it worked. So I don't know what's going on!
HP Pavilion dv6 - volume too low
Anyways I have the IDT Control Panel installed with all the drivers up to date but with the volume turned all the way up I can barely hear anything from the laptop speakers, if I plug in headphones they work fine but the speakers barely put out sound.
Model: HP DV6Z CTO
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (updated drivers from hp's site).
I tried the suggestion regarding installing realtek driver's but my laptop bsod'd and I haven't tried anything since (couldn't think of anything).
The green volume bar barely goes up when I do stuff such as watch video's online (doesen't even reach 1/4th of the way up) while the volume is turned all the way up.
I have a Dv7 not a dv7t so I did not know to make my own thread or post in the other thread.
ANYWAYS - My girlfriends dad got a computer very similar to mine and it looks identical besides the color. I know it is not the exact same because the index score is lower.
When he changes the volume on the touch part from the computer it shows a meter in the center of the that moves while he slides his finger across the volume.
