my dv6700 has it and i use it i dont know how many times with my SDTV. Ofcourse there is HDMI, but for SDTVs without HDMI, s-video was a good solution. Why did hp stop putting it on the notebooks?
View 3 RepliesI've recently accidentally dropped my n5110 ci5 laptop. It was a hard crash that the screen cracked. Later i had the screen replaced and checked that all hardware is working properly. Everything was fine except my laptop can no longer detect my NVIDIA Gt525m Graphic Card. I really need it for my advanced modeling and rendering purposes. What i know is that display is working and it's definitely using Intel HD Graphics 3000. I tried re-installing video drivers but the setup won't continue saying that it can't detect any compatible hardware.

View 5 Replies View Relatedmy notebook has the optiarc 5500S BD Rom and I've only had it for a couple days. I've tried a few blu rays using quickplay but the playback is a little stuttery, especially when skipping from scene to scene. Overall, playback is fairly smooth but my eyes are really picky and I can tell it's not as smooth and fluid as it would be if I were to watch it on my ps3.
I'm wondering if PowerDVD (blu ray version) would be smoother. What are your experiences with blu ray on your notebooks and what software do you use?
i have a note book, hp g7000. bought ut last yr. it had vista home premium 32bit installed wen i bought it. it also had a recovery partion.
i then deleted the local disk leavin de recovery partion intact, after which i installed vista ultimate 64bit.
now i want to recover my pc to its factory settings, shipped state... but when i restart and hit de f11 button, nothin happens.
what do u think wud happen if i delete one of ma partions to remain wit recovery partion and restart de pc?

I'm in the process of looking for a 15" notebook with an Nvidia 9600 gt (or ATI equivalent gpu). Up till now, I have always bought Dell notebooks mainly for their overseas business warranties. Since Dell is only offering the XPS 1530 with an outdated 8600gt gpu, I thought I would check in this forum to inquire whether Hp offers a comparable notebook with a newer mid sized gpu? (I'm interested in having the mid sized gpu mainly for simulation gaming for those overnight out of town business trips.)
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that the DV4t, 6t, and 7t notebooks all look to have been upgraded/updated to include DDR3 along with the Windows 7 release. Pretty nice for the power conscious I’d think. 1.5v RAM instead of 1.8v should match up well with a “P” series chip and a LED backlit screen... not to mention a bit of a speed boost. Not the newest stuff coming, but a nice update just the same for the Intel 4 Series chipset.

I was trying to reset my computer and taught disc sanitizer would do the trick. obviously it didn't .
Now it just says "non system disk or disk error " and it seems like I lost my OS. I'd like to run windows vista on my computer but I don't have an installation disc.
The computer, in question, is a Compaq 8510. I downloaded windows vista off the internet but how to install it on my laptop.
an issue I have, regarding video playback. Whenever I watch a video file on my HP DV6T, the playback seems rather grainy.
The video playback seemed much more clearer of a picture on my dv5z, and I am wondering if it has to do with the resolution.
Could this be because of the 16" 1366x768 resolution?
All I want is to be able to watch my movies or video files FULL SCREEN, and in good video quality.
I been working part time in computer service for 2 years now. Most notebook that come in are Dells, while Dell owns only 30% of Ukrainian laptop market. I have seen Dells that literally fall apart while under 3 years of usage. Most low to middle price boxes seem to be build from cheap plastic and 2nd grade parts.
Am I mistaken, is it a local phenomenon? What are your opinions of Dell notebooks?

I'm seriously considering getting the Dell XPS 16 Studio laptop for my fiance.
She is starting to really enjoy photo editing and having the 1920x1080 screen would be fantastic compared to her current 15.4" 1280x800 laptop.
I was originally looking at 18.4" laptops from other manufacturers with the 1920x1080 resolution and 17" laptops with the 1920x1200 resolution .....
I'm having to buy a new laptop soon - looking at the XPS - but I don't know when this premium XPS customer service care will subside (which I expect to happen when Dell releases their new solution to getting consumers)

THAT is the factor that scares me - the 90 day warranty as Sony repair is very expensive out of warranty.

I told her to just cancel it out because Dell always includes it's own drivers cd and os cd with a new computer. Then we go looking through the box and there is no software!
WTF? Dell is now turning into HP and refuses to include what customers are alread paying for?

The power adaptor indicator light is on, and the battery light (lightning bolt) constantly flashes when the battery is connected. This light will also flash faster for about 1 second when I press the power button. Without the battery, the light obviously does not come on at all.

I've already tried a hard reset. I've tried turning it on with and without the battery, and I've also tried a different power adaptor.
I don't know if anyone has posted this but I found this searching for an item on dell's EPP website..............

View 10 Replies View RelatedI know many people have said they upgraded their ram past the "2gb limit" to 3gb or some even 4gb on a Intel GL960 chipset...but has anyone successfully upgraded their ram above 2gb with the GL960 on a Sony Vaio, or even more specifically the VGN-NR140E, or any VGN model? I'm asking because I want to upgrade past the limit, but I don't want to waste my money if it won't work, and if someone can let me know if it worked on their Sony Vaio (should have similiar BIOS) then I will be a bit more confident on my purchase.
