HP Envy Dv7-7398ca :: Enable AHCI Mode On Notebook With SSD

Year old i7 Envy Dv7-7398ca notebook with Samsung 840 Pro x 256 SSD.  Windows 8.1. I updated to the  SSD soon after I purchsed the notebook.  Â

No issues except the Samsung Magician SSD software keeps flagging me that AHCI mode is disabled and needs to be enabled and I do not see it in BIOS. Nor do I see anything that relates to it in Device manager like IDE or whatever.Â

It appears the SSD is not optimizing itself based on the fact it thinks AHCI is disabled.
I have an HP ENVY dv7-7304tx now succesfully running a Samsung 840 Evo SSD as the primary disk. The second disk is the original spinning disk. Â Samsung Magician software tells me I need to enable AHCI mode (which is not possible in the BIOS) to optimise the SSD. Â Does this have the same or similar solution to that provided in the link here? : [URL].... Â Would there be any negative consequences for the spinning disk?
I upgraded my hard drive to a SSD and that is done. Laptop works fine. Installed the Samsung SSD software and it says I need to Enable AHCI to get the SSD running at full potential.  I searched the BIOS and do not see anyplace to change this. I then went to the Device Manager in Windows 8.1and I do not see any ATA/SATA controller. All I see is a RAID controller. RAID controller in a laptop?  How to enable the AHCI?
My computer: HP Envy Sleekbook 6 - 1153eo Windows 8 Pro  AHCI is currently disabled on my computer and I wish to enable it to get the most performance out of it. It can easily be enabled via the windows registry but to get it working i need to be sure that AHCI is currently enabled in the BIOS aswell. When I enter the BIOS there just isnt any advanced options available, only time and date and other basics. How do i find out wether or not AHCI is enabled in the BIOS? How do i get access to the advanced options in the BIOS to turn on AHCI (if it isnt already enabled that is)?
I have a HP Envy dv7-7398ca that I recently put Windows 7 on. Everything works great except my speakers are really quiet now. I tried to download and install the IDT HD driver for Windows 7 and during installation I got a message saying my hardware was not supported.Â
Going to install a SSD to my HP Pavilion Dv6-2119tx (WF606PA) I had a quick look in the bios but no option to turn on AHCI as going to reinstall Windows 7 as not sure if my laptop can handle Windows 8.
when I got my 9400/E1705 I was always sad for not having the AHCI option available in the BIOS.

In the Sony forum, they have found a way to activate these options even if they're not present in the BIOS:
How to Enable Intel VT and AHCI on a Napa/Santa Rosa platform Phoenix BIOS Vaio laptop ... The only item you'll need is a bootable DOS media. Click one of these links for instruction for creating a bootable floppy disk (with USB floppy drive) or usb stick.USB flash1 or USB flash2 or CDR (add modified table file to image before writing). Instructions:
1.Download symcmos and copy it to your bootable DOS media. This utility is used to modify your Phoenix BIOS settings. Also, download a DOS text editor and copy it to the media if you feel comfortable editing a file in DOS.
2.Go to the BIOS by pressing F2 during start-up, or when the VAIO logo appears, and reset the settings to factory default. Save and reboot.
3.Go back to the BIOS and enable the boot from external devices option. Save and reboot.
4.Press ESC when the VAIO logo appears to bring up the boot selection menu and select the bootable DOS media. At the prompt, type "symcmos -v2 -lDefault.txt", without quotes, and note that there's no space in between the flag and filename. This will create a literal symbol table from the NVRAM named Default.txt which contains all the current BIOS settings. Reboot by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del. If that doesn't work, hold the power button until the notebook turns off.
5.Use the DOS text editor (or boot to another OS and use a text editor there) to edit the generated Default.txt file. Change the following lines and save the modified file to something else (e.g. modified.txt):

I installed a Samsung 840EVO 500GB SSD in my Precision M4400 last weekend. I managed to get it working but it only works in ATA mode. All others modes I tried brought me to the windows splash screen quickly followed by a blue screen that flashed so quickly I couldn't read it before the system rebooted. If I let it reboot it continues to do the same thing over and over. As I understand it I would really benefit from the performance AHCI offers, particularly when running multiple programs at once.
I want to enable my RAM in dual channel mode... what is the process to do this? i have already checked in CPU-Z that it is currently in single channel mode.
I recently acquire a VGN-SZ491N from ebay and since I don't really like Vista, so I wipe out the hard drive and install Windows 7 Ultimate from scratch. I followed the following steps and everything works fine except for the video card portion.
A. Install Windows 7 B. Install missing / unknown drivers C. Reboot and install the utilities, in the following order:
1. Sony Utils DLL 2. Sony Shared Library 3. VAIO Event Service 4. Setting Utility Series
After Step C, I reboot my laptop and then able to install Nvidia driver and upgrade the video card from generic one to Nvidia at Speed mode.
But when I manually switch from speed to stigma, nothing happen, so I would like to know what should I do to enable the Intel video card portion and make it work in Windows 7.
This is regarding my Dell inspiron 3520 . core i3 + 4gb ram with windows 7 home basic 64 bit . I noticed the feature Called "DESKTOP charging mode" Â under extended battery life options. unfortunately i am unable to select the desktop charging mode. It seems disabled. i have enabled Extended battery life and it is working well. I am getting more than 4 hrs battery backup also. i would like to enable desktop charging mode.
I have a HP G71-340US notebook - PROD. NO. VM114UA#ABA running ubuntu 14.04. I was having many problems with the old Win 7 installation, so I converted to Ubuntu and did a clean install of Ubuntu 14.04. Since then I can't use VirtualBox for 64 bit guests. How do I enable virtualization so that I can use VirtualBox 64 bit guests mode? Whenever I try to set up a guest operating system on Vbox, it only allows 32 bit guests. Everything I have read on this subjects keeps coming back to the fact that this machine is not supporting virtualization. I have been told to go into the bios and enable virtualization but I do not see that option in the bios.
I have a new Flex 14. When I turn it on, I frequently get the following message "The battery is charged to a high capacity. Staying above 70% of capacity for a long period of time is adverse to the battery health. Enable 'Conservation Mode' in Settings." I can not find "Conservation Mode" in "Settings." ?
Is there a way to enable num lock on startup for the HP envy x360?  It is frustrating to enable it, I use the pin method on windows 8, simly because its only 4 character and I don't have to hit enter. I have a HP pavillion dv9610us Notebook which i never really have had issues with until now. As of this past week, when I close my lid and the notebook goes to sleep it is getting so friggin hot now when I come back to use it when before it never did.
I have been trying to disable SecureBoot and enable Legacy boot. This is a fairly straight forward process, press F10 to enter the BIOS, scroll over to the proper area and press F5 over Legacy boot to enable it (Which automatically disables SecureBoot). I have tried this quite a few times and each time have had no success. Everytime I change this setting and restart the computer it just ends up with Legacy Boot disabled and SecureBoot enabled. Yes, I am saving the settings, if I change other settings (Such as Virtualization support) they do save. Why I cannot save these settings after changing them? Â I have an HP Envy 15-U010DX. I have also updated the BIOS and am running the latest version.

I have a problem with my HP Pavilion dv6-7006ed Entertainment Notebook, when i play a game or watching some videos, sometimes it will get into a sleepmode, the screen doesn't turn instant black just like you see when it's going into sleep mode. After that i can't do anything, but the laptop is just running.
I have an HP Pavilion DV6 Notebook PC. The other day, it crashed and gave a blue screen error. Since then, it wont start. Ive tried starting it normally and in safe mode, neither work. The computer has had overheating problems because the fan doesn't work 100%. It would shut off often from overheating, but I cleaned the vents out thoroughly, and it hasn't overheated since then. Since the computer wont start, I cant get to the crash dump files.
I have a one year old HP Envy M6 and it has just recently began acting up. Â It will not come out of sleep mode when I jiggle the mouse or press keys on the keyboard. Â Also, instead of going in to sleep mode, it seems to switch to hibernate. Â Sometimes I can press the power key lightly and it seems to do a shorter startup (my browser will ask if I want to "restore" the previous session, the documents are saved in a temp file, but still the HP logo appears as it is booting up). Â Other times the power light is already on, but it won't wake up at all and so I have to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button until it shuts itself off and restarts.
I entered Safe Mode in my Envy TS 15 running windows 8.1 to fix some issues with my Norton software and now I can't figure out how to exit back to normal mode. Â Internet is shut off in safe mode (even though I selected safe mode with networking) so I can run any of Support resolutions. How to do this?
I have recently purchased an HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook Windows 7 Professional (PC Product #: E1P05AV). I'll usually close the lid to put it into sleep mode when I have to do something else. But when I open it back up, it has the "Start windows normally or safe mode" sreen. I've noticed that this only happens after a certain amount of time of being in sleep mode. If I wake it up prior to that, it works just fine. I hope that this can be resolved since this is a brand new laptop.
