I have a problem with my HP Pavilion dv6-7006ed Entertainment Notebook, when i play a game or watching some videos, sometimes it will get into a sleepmode, the screen doesn't turn instant black just like you see when it's going into sleep mode. After that i can't do anything, but the laptop is just running.

I have a problem with my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC, model 15-e055st, which I purchased two months ago with Windows 8 pre-installed. I susequently upgraded the operating system to Windows 8.1 and all seemed to work OK. I then used the HP Support Assistant to do some important updates, which included the BIOS and other software. Following the HP update the computer would not Shut Down or Sleep, but Restart worked OK. When I attempt to Shut Down or Sleep, the screen goes black but the power light and the wifi light on the keyboard remain on and the fan is still operating. The machine will not recover from this situation without me first doing a hard reset by keeping the power button pressed for about five seconds.
I trıed restoring the software to the condition prior to the HP update but the problem still existed. Two days ago I refreshed the computer, which rolled the operating system back from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.0 but the Shut Down/Sleep problem is still there.
I have a one year old HP Envy M6 and it has just recently began acting up. It will not come out of sleep mode when I jiggle the mouse or press keys on the keyboard. Also, instead of going in to sleep mode, it seems to switch to hibernate. Sometimes I can press the power key lightly and it seems to do a shorter startup (my browser will ask if I want to "restore" the previous session, the documents are saved in a temp file, but still the HP logo appears as it is booting up). Other times the power light is already on, but it won't wake up at all and so I have to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button until it shuts itself off and restarts.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook Windows 7 Professional (PC Product #: E1P05AV). I'll usually close the lid to put it into sleep mode when I have to do something else. But when I open it back up, it has the "Start windows normally or safe mode" sreen. I've noticed that this only happens after a certain amount of time of being in sleep mode. If I wake it up prior to that, it works just fine. I hope that this can be resolved since this is a brand new laptop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2 yr old Pavillion G7-1329 wm with Windows 7. I use Windows antivirus and firewall along with Malwarebytes for spyware. I have noticed recently when I download or update anything, instead of restarting as before, it hangs up and after about 5 minutes it goes into hibernate and won't come out of it.
I have to do a hard power off.
I have done a couple of restore points but it doesn't solve the problem.
I do use a cooling fan to prevent overheating although it does still get quite warm.

Before, it would not play any sound, now it will play the support assistant narration, but nothing else.
For a while, it has been playing sound every now and then, now it will not at all, except for the narration.
The fan, and I guess the system, does not turn off when going into sleep mode after the set 10 min of no activity but will if I go to sleep mode manually. I have already had to have a replacement fan after a year which I am sure was due to this issue.

I have a HP Pavillion g6-1b60us notebook pc product number: LW350UA#ABA and for the last few months it has been having trouble fully restarting. Whenever a windows update runs, and my computer begins the restart process to finish the update, it will turn off, but will not turn back on automatically. The screen will go black, and the power light is still on, but nothing else will work on the computer unless you force shutdown the computer and then turn it back on. I've waited overnight to see if it would restart and it would not. I've updated all my drivers and run numerous virus and malware programs to make sure it wasn't a bug causing it, and now I'm stuck.

I bought new HP Pavilion 17-f001sm Notebook PC (Windows 8.1 x64), it worked perfectly for 3 days, and 4th day it crashed randomly while i was watching some video, from then it constantly crashes.
Sometimes its black or blue screen, sometimes it just freezes or restars itself, and once i got ''KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOTHANDLED'' message. Also my Dics usage was 80%-100% until i deleted McAfee.
All drivers are ''up to date'', have 2 coolers under it so it constantly low temperature, McAfee didn't registered any viruses, even tried to reboot it but it continued to crash.
I have Hp Pavilion 2000 notebook, on which when i am press f2,f3 for brightness increease or decrease, id does'nt do that. inface all other buttons are performing well, but when i press this, the brighness bar shows on the screen but newither it increases nor decreases.

When I turn it on it says F1 system information and automatically goes to the F1 screen where it displays the sys info. It says press ESC to exit but that does nothing. In fact, no keys do anything. When it first crashed, I was playing a game, then the screen got all pixelated, then the blue screen. The computer has had overheating problems because the fan doesn't work 100%. It would shut off often from overheating, but I cleaned the vents out thoroughly, and it hasn't overheated since then. Since the computer wont start, I cant get to the crash dump files.
I have a Inspiron 14R for about a year and half now. This computer has done this since day one for some reason:
When I put the 14R in SLEEP mode, the computer remains in sleep mode for about 2-3 hours, then the computer shuts itself off, or goes into hibernation mode on it's own. The computer has Windows 7 Premiuim.
I have the power saving modes all set too SLEEP, and none in hibernation in any of the selections. I cannot for the life of me why this computer does this. I have a Lenovo I bought about a year later using Windows 7 Premium with all the same settings in the POWER section, and while in sleep mode, it STAYS in SLEEP mode, no matter the length of time in that mode. Any setting I need to turn off, and where to find it?
I only use laptops for some wifi, docs and music but I thought it was time for a slight upgrade so I found a deal on a Studio 15 and bought it.
I would like to start playing some games, not serious, but just some fun games to pass the time.
Below is my config, I am not sure what kind of games it can handle.
The system ended up costing me $735 brand new at Dell with my discounts.
