HP Envy Dv6-7258nr Display :: Webcam Stopped Working All Of A Sudden
Apr 16, 2014My webcam stopped working all of a sudden. I have HP ENVY dv6-7258nr Notebook PC with Windows 8. The camera app says "Connect a camera." and the device manager does not show "Imaging Devices". Instead there is "Other Devices" which has a subcategory of "Unknown Devices" with a yellow mark.
I have updated, reinstalled cyberlink youcam drivers, tried system restore (which does not complete saying i have an anti virus open when i don't have any antivirus on my notebook) but nothing works. Scanning for hardware does not bring up any thing. I have also followed the instructions given on hp site and opened the youcam software but it does not detect the camera.

Dec 29, 2012I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 3520 the wifi was working fine, and then it all of a sudden stopped. I already went and bought a new router, and tried using my Ethernet cable. The new router hasn't changed it but i can connect to my LAN network with the Ethernet cable. I am not satisfied with the LAN network because I bought a laptop so i could use it all of the house. I will not purchase anything else because i already bought an 85 dollar Belkin router.

I upgraded my laptop from home basic 64 bit to ultimate 64-bit then I reinstalled the windows 7 ultimate 64-bit because i want a clean windows 7 ( first upgrade was from Windows Upgrade the second one from the internet ).I always clean my laptop from dust and it never get overheated because I use cooling pad with 3 fans. I gave my friend to check my laptop he works in pc's he said that my laptop looks like new and i don't have a fan problem he suggest to Re-Install windows 7 from HP ( that came with hp products ) or do i hard rest to my hardware. My warranty fishined a month ago, and I take care of my laptop very well. I know my laptop will not get any damaged because i use cooling pads.

Feb 24, 2012Okay, so. I have an HP Pavilion g6-1145sg. It was working properly all morning, and then I put it to sleep temporarily (about ten to twenty minutes). When I went to turn it on, the screen was black and said something along the lines of "the system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. Continued operation would not be recommended at this time... may cause unpredictable behaviour that could result in random shut down, data loss or possible system damage."
Then after a few seconds it shuts off completely. There is an option to continue with system resume, and I clicked it once, but it didn't go all the way through to letting me use my laptop properly (I got to my desktop background and it shut down).
I have had it since last August, and it has worked somewhat alright through until today. Of course, the system lags occasionally, but nothing serious, mostly just aggravating.

Dec 10, 2009Firstly the dvd rom stopped working about 6 months ago.Can live without it but now after getting a blue screen it wont boot or the screen is black.Connected it to a monitor and when it does choose to boot there is no display on the laptop screen until the login screen appears.Ran some tests on the HDD drive when its running but comes up ok.Is it likely to be a failing MB or some corruption on my OP system.

Dell :: E1505 Randomly Stopped Working
Sep 23, 2009So my E1505 randomly stopped working on me. I'm thinking the mobo is shot, but thought I would ask everyone here and see if you can shed some light on it.
So basically, the machine just shut off and when I try to turn it on the numlock button lights up, and the caps lock and scroll lock buttons flash. This lasts for about 30 seconds, and then all power shuts off. Nothing comes up on the screen, and it doesn't even sound like it is trying to work. I've checked all connections, reseated/thermal greased CPU, everything I could think of.

May 27, 2010Got my new XPS M1730 in December 2008 and all was well for the first few months till the graphic issues started and the Nvidia driver stopped working and has recovered problem.
So three new cards and after a long battle they eventually agreed to swap me out with an Alieware M17X R2.
I have two questions .....
what happens if i still have the old XPS in a box upstairs waiting to be collected and they have not collected it after 3 months and will they even want it back now...they did say they wanted it back and i would be contacted when this collection had been arranged ...
however three months have passed and im not going to phone them and ask them to come get it ....and also what can i do to get the machine back to working properly ... ie how can i find out if it definitly is the graphic card and what are my
options .... are the 9800 cards plauged with the same problems .
As for the Alienware im not convinced i like it as much as i did the XPS ... fan noise during gaming is almost embarrasing ...
Dell :: External Displays Stopped Working
Mar 3, 2010I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 with an Nvidia 8600gt. I have a dell 2409 24 inch 1920 x 1080 monitor and a Samsung 22inch 1680x1050 LCD TV. I use one or the other depending what room I'm in. Both are connected using VGA cables.
These have always worked perfectly, today when I tried plugging into either one they are detected as 'generic non pnp monitor' and I get a choice of standard resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. These always used to run at their native resolutions and were detected as Samsung and Dell.
I have reinstalled the display drivers, power cycled everything, gpu seems to be running fine according to gpu-z.
I have reverted to a working backup but that made no difference. Im using windows 7 64bit.

Apr 4, 2010On my one year old Dell XPS M1530, with Blu-Ray CD drive, the CD drive stopped working.
It used to work but I haven't used it in a few months. I've tried 3 different data CD's (not a Blu-Ray movie DVD), & they all had the same error.
In My Computer, when I double click on the CD drive, I get another window that says to insert a disk & it ejects the disk that is in the drive

Nov 17, 2008about 2 months ago i bought an Acer 5920G, a week or so ago suddenly the touchpad stopped working, i dont recall how it happened, i think i just booted Windows Vista as i usually do and the touchpad didnt work when i tried to click my user name so i could enter my password to logon.
I thought maybe the driver had gone bad so i rebooted and booted Windows XP( on a different partition) and in windows xp the touchpad also didnt work anymore.
Is this a hardware failure? Or are there other possibilities? I tried removing the driver and reinstalling, but it still didnt work.

Sound does not come out of the speakers, headphone jack, nor can I record using on board mic or plug in mic. Jan 9, 2015I have an HP Pavilion dm4-1150ea running Windows 7 64bit.
I bought a bluetooth audio receiver and it paired with the laptop and installed a driver. I was able to stream audio to the receiver but when I closed the laptop and later opened it, it stopped working.
I looked in device manager and the bloetooth radios were no longer there and there were no bluetooth devices under Network Adapters. They had been there previously.
I rebooted a few times and it still didn't work. I got it to work once and it coincided with putting the power lead in. However, it didn't work for long.
HP Wireless Assistant says that Bluetooth is disabled in Device Manager.
I tried downloading the latest bluetooth driver from the HP site but it won't install because bluetooth isn't running.
At some point I got a message saying that a USB device had failed. I can see a warning icon on an "Unknown Device" in the USB Controllers section of Device Manager.
I tried to do a system restore but that failed because it couldn't get access to a file.
how I can get blue tooth working again?

Acer :: Aspire E5-511 - All USB Ports Stopped Working?
Jan 26, 2015I purchased an Aspire E5-511 about a week ago. At first, I had no problems with the USB ports and what I plugged in would be recognized and work, but now none of them will recognize anything that is plugged into them. This is for multiple devices that work on other computers, so it is not the devices, and obviously it's not the hardware if all 3 simultaneously stopped working. Googling the problem has led nowhere. Additionally, the webcam used to come up automatically in the "Camera" app; this no longer works either and it says "To get started, connect a camera." I have restored the system back to factory defaults, had all files deleted and re-did the entire initial process all over again, to no avail.
