I replaced hard drive with SSD and installed windows 7 ultimate (X64) on my HP Pavilion G4 notebook. However, I am not able to install switchable graphics on my laptop now.  I have tried this 1. Installed HPSA and ran update and tuneup. It asked me to update "AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver" but it failed with multiple retries and after some time now it doesnt ask to do this update at all. Now everything is green in HPSA but I am still not able to switch the graphics 2. Tried to download from HP drivers page but it says "AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible harware/software on your computer" 3. Tried uninstalling the driver but windows updates the drivers automatically. 4. I also updated BIOS as suggested at [URL] ..... but still no luck......  Product Name: HP Pavilion g4 Notebook PC Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1 Product number : LQ375PA#AB
A friend of mine has a HP Pavilion g6 notbook PC which is hopelessly stuck in a loop of "Press the ESC key for startup menu". None of the suggested fixes have worked and I cannot access the operating system. I want to reload Windows 7 Home Premium and should be able to do it with the information on the sticker at the back of the unit. I have the product ID and the serial number. What do I do next?

I recently Had my HP Pavilion G7 crash on me which ran windows 8 (OEM) I was unable to restore it. I decided to downgrade to windows vista and do a clean install due to the fact I connot locate my w8 install disk. The problem im having is my network, display adaptors and other devices arent working and showing a yellow triangle with an exclamation point and ive done some research and tried fixes like unistalling and reinstalling but it still not working. Here is what is showing up with the exclamation points in yellow  network adapters -acer NIC - 559A pro/100+ with alert on lan 2  Other devices - SM bus Controller -Universal serial bus(usb) controller -universal serial bus (usb) controller -Unkown device  I feel like if i can get online and get windows to update some of these things will clear up and fix. Now i did have problems with realtek PCIe FE Family Controller but i went and found the driver for that.here are some system info:  system Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard system model: HP pavilion g7 notebook pc system type: x86 based pc (32bit) processor:  AMD A8 -4500M APU WITH RADEOM(TM) HD GRAPHICS,1900 HMZ 4 CORES  I did call HP free support because my warranty was up and they told me it seemed like an software issue or corruption and they felt confident they could fix it but they wanted me to pay for tech support which i dont mind but it would be a monthly service charge which i dont need constant tech support this is the first time ive ran into this issue they also told me that the tech would have me enter some Commands in command prompt to resolve this.

I have Pavilion dv7-4142eo bought and using in the Sweden. This laptop have Swedish Windows 7 installed. Now I want give this laptop my father which is living in the Poland and speaking Polish language only, so I have to install Windows Polish version. Should I install another drivers? If yes, drivers for Pavilion dv7-4140ew (only this version of dv7-4100 have drivers for laptops designed to Polish market) will be OK? Can I install Windows 8? Generally - what I should do?
I installed Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64 to my HP Pavilion G6 2240SH laptop. I started install the drivers and I got an error message in the Intel High-Definition setup: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."  Intel HD driver version: 10.18.10.3277
I just bought "HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC p000su-j2t31ea", installed windows 8.1, downloaded drivers and it seems like it works perfectly but wifi.
When I tried to install this Broadcom WLAN driver [URL]... its loading like on the half way on its instalation and drops then a message appears and asks me if the program worked well.
Ive tried to install that driver under Safe Mode and it loaded the installation, but when it was installing some error came out saying that the installation cant continue, because update.cpp 1205 is not found or something.I also tried to find the driver from broadcom's site, but couldnt find it. And now i can use e-net only via cable.
I had to clean install Windows 7 due to a problem I created in the first place. Anyway, everything runs fine, except for the Radeon graphic card.Â
I own a HP Pavilion g6-1279sl Notebook. It's supposed to have an Intel HD Graphics 3000 and a AMD Radeon HD6470M.
I installed the last version of the Catalyst driver, and when I right click on the desktop, it says "switchable graphics", but if I click on that, it just shows me another option from the Catalyst, HydraGrid.Â
Using a tool that displays which graphic card is running, I noticed that even when I'm running games, the Intel Graphic Card is working, giving an overall worse performance than the Radeon should give. I mean, the Radeon is never working. I also tried to disable the Intel from Device Manager (I think it's called like this, I have an Italian laptop), and it gave problems due to the Radeon card not working properly.
The BIOS is updated and no option is there about Switchable Graphics.
Is there anything I can do to have back that feature?
I bought this PC last year and now i would to format it because i noticed some slowing downs during some operations (such has the switch on). My question is: can I install a "clean" win8 with the recovery image? How? I mean a O.S. free from Hp's customizations as if I bought it from Microsoft. If it isn't possible with the recovery image, is it possible in other way, keeping the license?
I have been downgrading my friends computer from Windows 8 to Windows 7 and used driver links from here and everything has worked great so far!! There is only one issue left. I have no driver for SM Bus Controller.   Everything else in device manager is good except for this.
I already installed Windows 8.1 64-bits on my laptop and the Wifi Card wasn't already installed. I tried to download the Wifi Card driver and I found 3 drivers :  MediaTek(Ralink) 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) Adapter [URL]....
I have a Pavilion dv9730 nr laptop and installed Win 7 Pro. In my Device Hardware there are 2 unknown icons?  1st:                                                                                         Location: PCI bus 7, device 9, function 2 Hardware ID: PCIVEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_30CC103C&REV_12                        PCIVEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_30CC103C                        PCIVEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_088000                        PCIVEN_1180&DEV_0843&CC_0880

There was a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium- 64bit.
After searching around online, got a hint of what to do.
Made it to the Device Manager, these are missing or non existant (small yellow exclamation triangle):
Ethernet Controller (Hardware ID: PCI/VEN_10EC&DEV_8136) Network Controller (Hareware ID: PCI/VEN_14E4&DEV_4727) PCI Device (Hareware ID: PCI/VEN_10EC&DEV_5209) SM Bus Controller (Hardware ID: PCI/VEN_1022&DEV_780B) Â Along with finding the proper downloads, I'm not sure in which order I should be installing them (if there is a specific order at all), and if I need to reboot every time I install something new.

My Y580 should be arriving shortly. I got it on the Black Friday Special and it comes with Windows 8. I bought a SSD to replace the HDD and I am wanting to downgrade it to a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate or Pro and I have a couple questions: Â How to do this for the Y580? I have not been able to locate one. Â Also I am assuming I would not want to use the Windows 8 device drivers correct? Do I use the Windows 7 device drivers? Â Would use the drivers from the Lenovo site or each devices specific website? I am going to try to save them on a DVD in advance and want to be prepared.
Have an HP DV8110us Pavilion notebook purchased in 2006. Â Running XP SP3. Â Upgrading to Windows 7 with a clean install. Â Ran the MS Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Â This notebook has the AMD Turion 64-bit chip running at 1.8 mhz. Â I have 2 GB memory. Â Looking through the Win7 options, I decided to order Win7 32-bit, since I'm only carrying 2 GB of memory. Â Win 7 64-bit seems to be happier with 4 GB. Â While the Advisor shows I have some drivers that need updating after Window 7 is installed, I just noticed that the Realtex RTL8139/810x NIC needs a new driver for 32-bit Win7, but under 64-bit Win7, the NIC is compatible. Â Should I have ordered the 64-bit Win7 ? Â Or should I look around for a new Realtek driver ? Â Realtex has a link to an old Vista driver that should work. Â Other searches suggest that a workable driver might be on the Win7 DVD.
I've purchased a HP Pavilion 15-n011tu Notebook. I'm unable to install display driver for WIndows 8 (64bit). I've tried all 3 drivers given on HP site.
I have a HP Pavilion G6-2252sa Notebook running Windows 8 and I have just installed 8.1. All is OK, except the equalizer function in Dolby Advanced Audio V2 is no longer working. You can still move the equalizer sliders but the actual sound quality remains the same. It just sounds flat as if all sliders are permanently set at zero.
Has anyone clean installed Windows 7 on their new Inspiron laptops? I just bought a E1545 and it came with Windows 7. I'd like to clean install and I was wondering if it was as easy as popping in the Windows 7 DVD and waiting for it to install and then just dling the drivers online and installing.
And how about Windows XP? I know most people have gotten used to and accepted Windows 7... but has anyone installed WIndows XP on their laptop that came with Windows 7 originally? I mean a native install, not virtual...
If no one has done this yet, I am willing to create a guide if it is requested and if I succeed in doing so...
