View 3 Replies View RelatedAlright Well I bought a new inverter plugged it in and it still is doing the same thing. Only when i jiggle the wires the light goes on and i see the screen but not for long. I check for loose conncections but can't find any. The external display is fine. I'm wondering if it could be the actual bulb.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an HP Pavillion X2 2in1 laptop and want to connect it to my TV. The laptop was recentluy upgraded to windows 8.1. When I connect using an HDMI cable, the TV recognises that the HDMI is connected, but the laptop screen will not transmit onto the tv screen. When I hit f4 to toggle the display, it says 'Your PC cannot project to another screen. Try reinstalling the driver or using another video card.'
When I go into control panel as recommended on other queries, the adjust resolution screen does not give me any other options than the Basic PnP display. It's like my laptop cannot detect my tv. It is not in my computer, devices or anything. I didn't attempt connecting it to my tv when it just had windows 8 on it ...
I have a Windows 7 HP Pavilion dv7. I can use the internet 2 different ways - through AOL or through Internet Explorer. It works fine going through AOL. But when I go directly thru Internet Explorer, I get the dreaded Blue Screen. I have gotten a messsage to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, but when I try to do that, I get the Blue Screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe display of my hp pavilion 15 N 043ee laptop is extremely dim. I'm unable to see anything on the screen unless I shine a flashlight onto it, and even then I can barely see. When I connect it to an external monitor it works fine. I restarted it and hit f8 to access the bios screen and it's also dim there as well. My laptop is only a few months old ....
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy laptop is a hp pavilion g6 2312ax
-amd a10 processor,4gb ram,1tb hdd
-previous bios version F26 insyde
hp support page for my laptop showed a newer bios available,so i installed it and from then my laptop shows black screen i.e it switches on and keeps blinking capslock twice and 2 sec interval and repeats.i searched the internet and found that twice capslock signifies bios failure.so i thougth of following the win+B method, but the problem here is,when i extracted my bios package sp*****.exe i have 2 *.bin files and i dont know where to paste them on my pendrive.
My current problem is that when switching from the mobile power-saving GPU I lose the backlight on my screen when the high performance GPU kicks in. The HDMI output is displaying video when in High Performance, but the screen of the laptop will only show a picture with no backlight, and can only be seen by shining a light on the screen.
Just started happening the last few days, I've tried a system restore (didn't allow it), tried uninstalling all of the AMD drivers and software then reinstalling with their updated drivers, as well as the same process but with the HP drivers that came with the laptop, still the same result. Is it possible for the high performance GPU to be failing some how or is this a software issue?
I have an HP PAVILION G6-1241EA and I just got a new motherboard and I installed it into my laptop. My laptop turns on but the screen is white. I looked at the wire and it is fine and I tried plugging in some other monitors vga and hdmi but nothing happens. Its been a long time since I've been on the laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst of all my laptop is : HP Pavilion dv6-6160se Entertainment Notebook
To the problem now : A few days ago my laptops screen started out of a sudden shutting down/turning black( no lights at all ). This was happening while using the laptop at random. The screen had no lights, and if i use a flashlight on it there is nothing. like its turned off completely.
Before this happens. This behavior varies. Sometimes it flickers from my desktop to a black screen then back on and some times not. Most of the times screen changed to a random color (green mostly) then becomes black/shuts down.
NOTE: The laptop keeps running, i can hear the videos playing so it probably isn't a gpu chip or gpu issue , music and games.
Here are everything i tried and all or the details i could accumulate in past couple of days:
1. If the screen flickers , blacks out and then turns back on i get a message that gpu drivers have stopped working and recovered ( on both amd and intel ).
2. If the screen blacks out, on rare ocasions if you close the laptop lid and let the laptop go to sleep , when waking up screen works again ( noticable due to screen moving)
3. I tried installing 4 different drivers all with clear install. ( didn't work)
4. I tried to to recover system with restore point. ( didn't work)
5. I tried to lower the screen brightness. ( didn't work)
6. tried this trick: Turn off laptop.. Remove battery.. Hold the power button for 30-45 seconds.. Plug-in the charger ( don't put the battery in )Turn on laptop and see if it works.
Very Noticable details:
7. Since on of the rare fixes requires to move the lid i tried shaking the screen a bit or pushing it slightly to different directions. This actually does the trick and turns the screen back on ( i am right now typing this after using this "trick"
So, with this one as a hint there are a couple of stuff i have in mind but i am not sure ...
a) There is a loose LCD cable and when i type a little vibration moves it and ends up in a black screen.
b) I read that if you use a flashlight and you cant see your desktop it means its a bad inverter.
c) Can the inverter have a lose cabe instead of the lcd ?
Currently the screen looks ok ( maybe its the certain angle it has after i moved it. Tried to play a game for a few mins and i got the black screen again. Closed the lid so the laptop goes in sleep mode then opened it and it worked. Just for the records.
Just tried to play a game again. got the blackscreen, shaked the screen a bit and it worked but for the 1st time i get the message " Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware" , Can it be that its the GPU after all or maybe drivers?
Tried to play a game again and it seem to trigger the issue . ( i am currently running the laptop with only the intel drivers installed) ...
We have two HP Pavilion dv6t-3100 CTO Select Edition Entertainment notebooks purchased at the same time. The screen on one of them has been flickering, has had to do a few recoveries, and has generated at least one BSOD.
Oddly, the problem child's Intel driver is 8.17.0010.0029, and the AMD driver is 8.741.1.1000, dated 6/22/2010.
But the problem-free laptop has Intel driver 8.17.0010.1043, and AMD driver 8.771.1.0, dated 9/8/2010.
Huh? The only difference between the two is the "bad" laptop has a i7-720QM ICU whereas the "good" laptop has the slightly more powerful i7-740QM. So why the different drivers?
I have laptop listed above. For the past 3 days I hasn't not been able to get it in. it sounds like its starting but the screen stays black. Recently installed antivirus on 01/01/2012 because I had some kind of worm/malware. Windows 7 is the OS. Cap lock light is on and "hp combo assistant" light is on constant no blinking. Don't know what to do.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavillion model 17-e019dx running Windows 8. Every time I turn it on, it stops at a blue screen that says
Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or cannot be accessed
Error code 0xc000000f
When I press enter to "Try again" it come back with:
File:WindowsSystem32winload.efi above the error code listed above.
I have tried the Recovery and after MUCH time waiting, it still comes back to the above mentioned screen. I have also run all the diagnostics that are available on the laptop and everything come back normal. I don't have the original discs or documentation as I "received this laptop as a "gift/curse" . It is, however, registered to me.
I woke up this morning and there is no light under the function buttons! The buttons work when I press them but don't light up at all. Is there a setting to turn it on an off or is it broken?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using my E6400 for a few weeks and I really like the backlit keyboard. Using the Dell Control Point interface, I have the backlighting adjusted to about 2/3 brightness (using the slider in Control Point).
I also have it set to remain lit for one minute with no activity.
Last night, the keyboard suddenly became much dimmer than usual. I double-checked in Control Point that the it hadn't somehow been dimmed and it hadn't.
I even maxed out the slider to the Brightest setting and it had no effect. I also tried using the 'Fn' and 'Right Arrow' keys to adjust it, no change.
I'm wondering how hard it would be to add different colored LEDs under the keys. I have a feeling it wouldn't be possible to add multiple different colors, like in the speakers, so what I was thinking was simply 7 or so colors, mixed and matched under each key to look prettier
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using an HP envy 4 notebook PC about three days old. After updating everything from windows update and from HP, the mute button no longer lights up on the keyboard when I have the sound muted. I can see that it is muted from the taskbar in the corner, but it usually lights up orange after it has been muted, and now it no longer is.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've bought Lenovo T410s in pretty bad shape. I decided to refubish the one, because I've some spare parts from T400s. So I disassembled the laptop, cleaned the one and assembled it back. Because the LCD screen was defected, I changed the whole LCD assembly (I put the whole one from T400s), changing only the LCD front bezel (but the only difference between the bezzel is the model inscription on it).
I installed the system back. After finishing the instalation of the system with all drivers update, I noticed that the HDD LED in the front LCD panel (that one under LCD) is still lighting as the AC charger is in. When I take it out, it stops lighting.
it used to then just stopped one day don't quite get why or how to fix help is appreciated

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe touch sensitive media buttons above the keyboard on my Studio XPS 1647 stopped working the other day. When I tried to turn my laptop back on the computer beeped a few times and the screen flashed a few solid colors and then went black. I had to turn the laptop off and on again and it booted as normal except the media buttons stopped working. They do not light up or respond to touch.
I have restarted the laptop, updated the Dell QuickSet drivers and the BIOS and nothing has fixed it. According to this post the media buttons need to be replaced. How can I do that and where can I buy the parts needed?
I have been having issues with my battery since a year after purchase. Battery replacement error pops up. The power adapter usually quits lighting up, then it would light up. Today the laptop went dead and the adapter will not light up at all! Is it battery or adapter or both?
View 8 Replies View Relatedwhen i first got this laptop i noticed that the screen was distorted and there was red lines everywhere and the screen was shaking abit. so i contacted dell and they sent me a repair guy to fix it. he fixed it in about 15min by pulling apart the laptop and replugging in the screen. but now its happening again. so i think the thing that plugs in is loose or somethin. so what do u think i should do out of the following options.
1. open it myself and replug it (im a noob and will try remember best what he did)
2. get techinician to come in again (bothersome as i have school)
3. ask dell for a replacement laptop.
im using m1530
I just bought a brand new Sony Vaio VPCF11M1E and I have the following problem:
Because in normal stand the screen is very small, I enlarged it to x150%. Everything becomes bigger, but the following parts are blurry and absolutely not sharp:
-Pop ups, of programs and of windows itself (like advanced settings of something and then a new windows pops up, that one is then totally blurry; you can read it, but it is not the good resolution)
-Google chrome (and with that, all the internet pages)
-The google chrome on the desktop is also very blurry, while all the others, are still sharp (after the enlargement by 150%)
I have tried everything (32 bits colours is on, cleartype is on). I also did a system restore to the first days I bought the laptop and then it was on 100% so the resolution was excellent, but then I put it on 150% and again, the parts I mentioned above, were blurry.
I have pavilion dv7, so far I had no problem. Now, when I login it logs in but then instead of showing me the home screen, it goes into blank black screen. It has just started to happen and I hope there is another way to make it work without rebooting the whole system.
