After updating everything from windows update and from HP, the mute button no longer lights up on the keyboard when I have the sound muted. I can see that it is muted from the taskbar in the corner, but it usually lights up orange after it has been muted, and now it no longer is.
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen I woke up my HP Pavilion dv6 7010tx notebook (running windows 8 pro 64-bit) from sleep, I noticed that it had lost all sound. Audio tracks cannot be played on any media player, videos play intermittently without any audio, and there is no sound whatsoever irrespective of the program/application being run. Restarting the notebook doesn't fix this.
Also noteworthy is that pressing the f11 (mute) key doesn't do anything. The LED on the key remains off, the volume indication is shown on screen as it does while changing volume using f9 and f10 keys, however it doesn't show any mute/mute off indication as it should when functioning properly.

I have recently been fixed audio driver, but now something has gone wrong.
The mute button on the quick lauch buttons stays blue even when it is muted. It is a very small detail but I would like it to be fixed.
I'm not sure if it's caused by the Windows 8 update from a few days back, but the problem started around then.
The audio on my laptop is not working. The mute stays on, even when I press the physcial keyboard button to enable sound, and try to enable sound with my mouse from the volume menu. Nothing has audio.

I took delivery of a HDX16 - 1030EA last week. The MUTE button works but does not go white, it is continually red even when sound is playing. I have uninstalled the quick launch software & re-installed same. No difference.
I am running Vista home premium 64 & used the 64 drivers.
My mute button is Orange & i can't get it to go back to green or blue when i touch it I get no sound at all On the bottom right corner where it shows the volume when i touch the mute botton it shows mute then on but orange mute button dont change back to blue or green in color so volume will work

I have a problem with my notebook. When I power my device everything is fine, but after ... let's several minutes sound disappears. The strange thing is that "mute button" on my keyboard is not responding too, when I hit it theres no orange light and one the screen appears a lvl of volume ( normally it should be a crossed volume lvl). When I want to play Spotify or something like that it says that my Audio card is used by another program... The funny thing is that when I did something like "stress test" (I played Spotify when sound worked just after system start) sound was working for about 6 hours and everything was fine.

Also I'd like to add that every system restart fixes that problem but only for a while (several minutes).

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've just received my brand new Lenovo G510 and installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit onto it.Most of the drivers from the attached CD installed without any problems (though I was quite surprised that no newer versions were available on the Support wrbpage) but I can't install audio driver.Apparently this series is equipped in either Conexant or Realtek audio chips and the provided setup application is desigend to detect the correct chip and run the appropriate driver installation program.
The problem is that setup is not working for me. All I receive is the notification "This utility can not be used on this machine". Since there are no "orphan" audio devices in the Device Manager, I can't really tell which audio chipset is installed in my machine. I don't want to install both dirvers as it may just cause confilcts.How can I say which audio chipset is installed and install the correct driver?
I came across some much older threads regarding the lack of a Num Lock LED indication (you'd think HP would clue in by now), but none of them seem to work or I haven't executed them correctly.
I've downloaded the HP On Screen Display Utility (SP55152), but maybe that is not what is required since I already get on-screen indications for Brightness, Volume and Muting (incredibly, they have an LED on the Mute key even though you also get an on-screen indication as to the status).
Is there any solution to this, or would I just return the laptop and get another with a Num Lock LED status indicator on the key.

I recently bought a 5550 wwan card ( Ericsson F5521gw 2XGNJ) for which i tried installing dell wireless 5550 driver. it was not successful and i got the message saying authentication failed and no compatible device detected!
Windows device manager identifies the card as "unknown device F5521gw" which probably means that the hardware is installed properly.
I have tried installing this [URL] .... driver multiple times and every single time i got a message saying "Driver installation failed. No compatible Dell Wireless HSPA Mini-Card has been found on this computer. Please insert hardware and restart the driver installation.

1. The damn CPU whining? I know everyone has it. Dell said last time I called that they're working on some way to fix it. The new A09 Bios didn't seem to do anything for me, or anyone else apparently according to dell's support forum. What's up with that?
2. My laptop wobbles on the top right and bottom left corners. it only wobbles if I use my 6cell batt, and it doesn't wobble w/ the 9 Cell. So does that mean the 6cell's rubber feet thing on the top right corner isn't high enough? Can dell fix that?
3. The "increase volume" media button thing isn't as responsive as the other ones. i have to press really hard to get it to respond. all the other ones i just tap it lightly, and it works.
Here's some questions that I know Dell has no clue what to do with:

I'm currently using Vista Ultimate on this only because I couldn't get my bluetooth driver and my sigmatel audio driver to work properly on XP. since dell hasn't released a xp bluetooth driver, i used WIDCOMM 5.1 stack, and the bluetooth headset and stereo headset drivers would disable the sigmatel drivers. really annoying. cmd51229 says he's gotten it to work:..........................
