I have a HP Pavilion dv6648se special edition bought 10 years ago.
I have recently been fixed audio driver, but now something has gone wrong.
The mute button on the quick lauch buttons stays blue even when it is muted. It is a very small detail but I would like it to be fixed.
My mute button is Orange & i can't get it to go back to green or blue when i touch it I get no sound at all On the bottom right corner where it shows the volume when i touch the mute botton it shows mute then on but orange mute button dont change back to blue or green in color so volume will work
View 7 Replies View Relatedwhen I woke up my HP Pavilion dv6 7010tx notebook (running windows 8 pro 64-bit) from sleep, I noticed that it had lost all sound. Audio tracks cannot be played on any media player, videos play intermittently without any audio, and there is no sound whatsoever irrespective of the program/application being run. Restarting the notebook doesn't fix this.

Also noteworthy is that pressing the f11 (mute) key doesn't do anything. The LEDÂ on the key remains off, the volume indication is shown on screen as it does while changing volume using f9 and f10 keys, however it doesn't show any mute/mute off indication as it should when functioning properly.

The audio on my laptop is not working. The mute stays on, even when I press the physcial keyboard button to enable sound, and try to enable sound with my mouse from the volume menu. Nothing has audio.

I've seen some other people mentioning a problem like this recently...
I took delivery of a HDX16 - 1030EA last week. The MUTE button works but does not go white, it is continually red even when sound is playing. I have uninstalled the quick launch software & re-installed same. No difference.
I am running Vista home premium 64 & used the 64 drivers.
Beats Audio  will not work on my new HP Laptop.  The beats audio setting in control panel is just not functioning. Â

All drivers operating normally and were checked for updates which were not required.
I have a problem with my notebook. When I power my device everything is fine, but after  ... let's several minutes sound disappears. The strange thing is that "mute button" on my keyboard is not responding too, when I hit it theres no orange light and one the screen appears a lvl of volume ( normally it should be a crossed volume lvl). When I want to play Spotify or something like that it says that my Audio card is used  by another program... The funny thing is that when I did something like "stress test" (I played Spotify when sound worked just after system start) sound was working for about 6 hours and everything was fine.

Also I'd like to add that every  system restart fixes that problem but only for a while (several minutes).
sometimes i switch on the computer and the speakers are not working but upon restarting they start functioning normally....when i enter the control panel and try to test the speakers an error shows which is  as follows:
"this device is being used by another application. close any devices that are playing audio to this device and try again"
Trying to figure out if this is a warrenty issue or some wacky setting that I have somehow turned on.Â

When I hit the spacebar, it  is always preceded with the a press of the right arrow. When I press the right arrow, it is followed by a spacebar. Thus I get a kinda cool effect when I edit put the cursor in the middle of a string and hold down space bar such as: "And in the mi d d l e  I  w i l l  s p a c e ."

I have an INSPIRON E1505 with Windows XP. Â The McAfee protection was not working properly, so I contacted customer service. Â They checked my computer and said that I should contact the computer manufacturer because I have errors on CHKDSK. Â I've done some research on this website, but have not been able to find a solution yet. Â
I ran the full Dell PC diagnostics, and everything passed except my battery.
I used this page [URL].... to guide me through chkdsk, running it from "my computer" and choosing "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors." Â Phase 2 appeared to be nearly down when I received the prompt, "Windows was unable to complete the disk check."
I'm not sure if this matters, but the computer was not used for 2 years from 2009-2011, as I was out of the country. Â After I got it running again and ran updates, it seemed to be working just fine until I recently discovered this issue with McAfee.
I've been having this problem ever since I upgraded to Windows 7.
Even when the computer isn't muted, the light is orange, and doesn't change when I touch the button.
I have all the latest updates from the HP website and I can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Its not really a big deal for me, but it's just annoying.
While the computer is booting up, the mute light is white, but after Windows loads, it turns to orange.

I thought the problem was the cpu temperatures... 60º-65º idle, and just open a few windows it reachs at 75º-80º, and stay in this temps.
Notebook Hardware Control, lets make undervolting. So I make some test... and just when the cpu loads at 100% the audio works properly, clean and perfect. If cpu loads under 80% the audio sounds... but defective, not clean...

Hovering over the speaker icon gives me the text, "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." I use the internal speakers, and I always have my headphones plugged in. Audio playback troubleshooting doesnt give me anything (though at one point during my progress, it said that my audio device was disabled.)Â

Device management has been confusing at best. I can't seem to get the Realtek W8.1 drivers to properly download, even after finding the Acer-support driver.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and for some reason, on the Pavilion g7-2320dx, and I have both a USB keyboard and mouse.the only port that the keyboard/mouse works in is the one by the charger (I think it is usb 3).Before I downgraded, I used the USB ports on the left for the Mouse, and the one on the right for the Keyboard.I know there has to be a driver for it somewhere.
