Aug 10, 2014I have a problem with my notebook. When I power my device everything is fine, but after ... let's several minutes sound disappears. The strange thing is that "mute button" on my keyboard is not responding too, when I hit it theres no orange light and one the screen appears a lvl of volume ( normally it should be a crossed volume lvl). When I want to play Spotify or something like that it says that my Audio card is used by another program... The funny thing is that when I did something like "stress test" (I played Spotify when sound worked just after system start) sound was working for about 6 hours and everything was fine.
System: Windows 8
Model: Notebook HP Pavilion g6-2310sw
Also I'd like to add that every system restart fixes that problem but only for a while (several minutes).

Aug 27, 2014I have a major problem with my hp pavilion dv6-3143sa laptop.
I put it to a shop and they told me it was a motherboard/cpu problem and they couldn't source parts. I managed to get the parts. I put the motherboard first, but didn't work. I then added the cpu and put on thermal paste, but still didn't work.
My laptop will power on but I'm still getting a blinking light on the caps lock button and a black screen.

Aug 11, 2014I have an HP Pavillion g6 and the sound is not working at all. I tried troubleshooting the audio playback and then it started working. Then i realized only the system sounds started working.
When i play a video or any audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer) it does not work, but when i play a video/audio downloaded onto the pc, it works. Why is that?
I checked all my browser settings aswell and nothing is wrong.

Jan 18, 2015Under Control Panel, Sound, Speakers and Headphones Properties, Tone Controls Tab, the Apply Button is grayed out for my Bass/Treble settings which reset to 4 every time my PC restarts if I change them. I cannot set the Bass/Treble levels permanently where I want them (Bass - 4 and Treble - 0) because the Apply Button does not work. I have two identical models of this PC with the same problem - both HP Pavilion dv6-7138us with Beats Audio and AMD cpu. Can the Apply Button be fixed? The Beats Audio Control GUI (also in Control Panel) has Bass and Treble settings that remain where set.Perhaps Beats is overriding Sound in Control Panel? I have a boxed Windows 7 32-bit installed on another PC and Sound has different control options - no Beats Audio. I would think if Beats modifies Sound controls in Control Panel, those controls should work. Otherwise, the modified Sound controls would not be there unless they are there in case Beats Audio is uninstalled or disabled? I see no way to uninstall or disable and have no desire to uninstall. IDT Audio is listed in Programs and Features.

Aug 1, 2014I was watching something online when the sound became distorted (has happened before) so turned off G6 laptop and restatred worked well for 20 minutes and then it went all distorted again. Turned it off again and started it up again however this time the sound completely vanished. Tried iTunes, internet, and a movie on laptop and nothing is working anymore. Have tried and checked several setting etc. but cannot correct this problem. Jul 11, 2014I can't set my sound default. I recently got my computer updated and a few hours later, my sound stopped working, then my videos, too. I reinstalled my computer, but when it got to the point where you set sound defult, it wouldn't work. The sections "Configure" and "Properties" worked, but "Set Default" wouldn't. I am so frustrated because I need sound and video to do a lot of things on my computer.

Mar 7, 2014I have an older HP Pavilion dv 9000, with Windows 7. I was attempting to watch a video and noticed that the sound was muted. So, initially, I tried to turn it up, but it seemed locked. It had never done that before, so after several failed attempts, the mute sign disappeared and now it's just a red x, and when I go in to check it, it tells me that there is no sound hardware installed.
