Can't find the driver, don't know what it is. I've installed the chipset driver, the ATA driver, etc. Still it shows as not found.

I went to install Win 8 back on it from a CD I have, it go's all the way thru the steps up to where you you pick a Drive to install on, and a messege appears saying; No Hard Drive detected- install Mass Storage Driver for detection of Hard Drive. What I need to install, and where to get it. It will not install an Operating system for the life of me.

Acer :: Driver - Mass Storage Controller Missing Driver
Jun 15, 2009Have done a clean install of VISTA HP. Keep being prompted to install driver for "Mass storage controller". Device manager shows it with yellow exclamation mark. Windows cannot locate a driver. Looked on the Acer site but unsure what to install for this one.
Device manager just calls it "other device" Acer Aspire 9301awsmi.

Suddenly, I have begun to receive a message on Start Up from HP Battery Alert. The message tells me that the level of the battery is critically low and that I may have to replace it. There is a web address offered to find out more - www2.hp.com/techcenter/startup/ (that address led me to this forum)
The battery charge monitor in the far right of the status bar tells me that there is no charge in the battery so that I can't use it without the mains lead. It also tells me that it is not charging, even though the mains lead is connected.
Lenovo T400 / T500 :: T431s - Code 28 In Device Manager For All External Storage
Nov 28, 2014I'm using Windows 8.1 on a t431s. I'm having this problem where none of my external storage is being recognized. Under "Device Manager" any sort of external storage I plug in ends up under "Other devices". When I click on the device, I get Code 28 "The drivers for this device are not installed." Trying to update the driver brings me nowhere. The devices don't appear under disk management.
What's weird is that other USB peripherals such as mice and USB headphones don't have any problem.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Updated the BIOS.
Used Lenovo's SCCM package for Windows 8.1
Tried installing the individual drivers for each hard drive.
Nothing works!

Jun 15, 2014In my HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook 15-4010nr notebook there are 1 HDD and 1 SSD (30GB).
The SSD was used for acceleration in Intel Rapid Storage initially.
But I reseted it to Available in Intel Rapid Storage and now I cannot “Enable acceleration” again, because there is no such a command in the program’s interface – it only shows disk information at “Status” and “Manage”, but no commands at all (except Acivate LED).

Nov 6, 2007i have purchased my dell inspiron around December 2005 and now time November 2007. This is the first time I am trying to use the sd card reader. when i put the card in under the at the 'device manager' under the 'disk drivers' there is a new category created and it is "Secure Digital Storage Device'.but there is a yellow ! mark next to it. basically i cannot se the sd card reader.

Sep 7, 2014I have an HP Pavilion dv5-1183cl that has been upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit) and I have some issues.I have four errors showing up in my device manager, three Base System Device and one Unknown Device, and I don't know what they are or where to get the drivers (since I don't know what they are). Additionally, the battery will not charge (there does not appear to be anything wrong with it physically). I am wondering if the below errors are related to the battery issue. Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: IdeaPad Z500 - WiFi Connectivity (Limited Connection / Yellow Triangle)
Mar 21, 2013I have an ideapad z500 which I'm happy for, but it annoys me that when 'm at my college I can't properly connect to the wi-fi the school has. When I connect, I'm on for usually about half an hour, but then I get the "limited connection" yellow triangle and I have to deactivate the networkcard before I can get a normal connection.
Other times I simply just can't connect, it tries but it fails. When it does, I have to reboot the computer before it succeeds, and that's no good when you are working on a project. At home i have no problems, it works nicely.
Also, how to enable the WiDi on the z500.
My PC is running Win 8 with the Intel Centrino n2230, Intel 3rd. gen i7 (3632qm)

Nov 15, 2014My acer travelmate P645m internet connection is quite bad. It happens quite frequent as well.
When I connect my laptop to wi-fi (my own router and in the library), it always has a yellow triangle exclamation mark all of a sudden. As my phone connects to those wi-fi too, I have checked the internet is still working fine when it happens on my laptop, so I am sure it is my laptop that doesn't connect to the wi-fi stably. I will have to turn off the wi-fi and turn it on again to make sure it has access to the internet.
I know it is not a complicated process of turning off and on the wi-fi on my laptop but because I just bought the laptop two months ago, if there is any hardware problem, I would like to fix it within my warranty. Why the internet connection on my laptop is so poor?

Jun 1, 2013Since a few days now I get the message'The USB-device was not recognized: One of the USB-devices connected to this computer does not work correclty. The device has not been recognized'. It keeps popping up from my right corner below, every 5 seconds if I don't click it. When I click the message, I get a list of USB devices (ports) there are available. There's one 'Unknown device'. Maybe it has something to do with the finger scan (biometric)? This hasn't been working very good lately..Even when there's no single USB device installed (normally I have a mouse and a Targus laptop chill mat installed as USB devices), it keeps popping up. I tried deleting the USB port from the list (or uninstall it) in Device control, but it seems it keeps happening.
I suddenly got it, I did nothing specific of did not connect any strange devices (except for a projector on the external monitor exit, but that has nothing to do with USB). I also hear the sound for connecting and disconnecting USB devics randomly when I'm on my laptop.

Jan 25, 2015 I will start out with my laptop's system information (and I am typing this on a cell phone)It is an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC with product number - B3K21PA#ABG. Serial number is 2CE2201C96. I have a Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter according to my device manager. I have recently changed my ISP and the wireless router they have provided is the Linksys E1200 model.Now, on to the problem - after a prolonged internet use (skype call or playing internet games) my laptop just stops giving me access to the internet.
And I say it like that because the internet connection icon shows that I have network access and internet connection but none of my software or browsers are able to connect to the internet. I have tried updating the driver (both by checking driver updates and by downloading the drivers manually). I have also tried system restores and everything else I could think of, short of actually doing a factory reset on the entire thing. And I should also mention - although this issue has occurred several times now since I changed ISP (and yes, I called them about it too), this current time seems to be permanent since it has been hours and it is still not working.

Oct 28, 2014I have an HP Pavilion 11-h013dx x2 pc running windows 8 and this weekend all of a sudden my computer shut down. When I restarted it I was given a blue screen which gave me the option to restore and refresh. I tried both options but the computer shut down when it got to 15% of restoring. Then when I turned on the computer it gives me a black screen saying boot device not found. I hit F10, enter, F9, enter, then exited and saved, that did nothing. I ran the hard disk check which passed. I ran the memory check and that failed with the code RQDATS-6T079C-MFPWWK-002103. I can't remember what other screen I was on when I got a different error code, but this one came up as well at some point and I wrote it down RQDATS-6T079B-MFPWWK-001H03.

HP Pavilion G6 Audio :: Cannot Set Headphones As Default Playback Device
Jul 19, 2014I own the Pavilion g6 and ever since I've gotten it, I've had audio driver problems. This is a recent one. I'm not able to set my Communication Headphones as the default device.The reason I want to is because I want audio to go through my headphones only, but if I disable speakers and headphones, volume mixer glitches out and says "No audio device is installed" I've also had other problem too, my microphone does not work correctly but the headphones do. I've already tried uninstalling / reinstalling by the way.
