Dec 20, 2013I have reinstalled my original Vista Home Premium 32bit using the recovery partition. All is well, except I can't make the webcam recognizable to the system. Therefore, I can't use my Skype video call function. When I had the factory installed OS, Skype video call worked perfectly.
I have been all over the Internet trying to find software - YouCam, Quickplay, SP37849, SP46565, SP38361 and SP 45866 - all to no avail. None of the software would install, except Quickplay (SP38361).
In the Device Manager, under Imaging Devices, there is no webcam driver listed, only my HP 6700 All-in-One printer/scanner. Is there a possibility that only one imaging device can be installed at one time?
HP Pavilion Tx1218au Display :: Cannot View Photos Uploaded From Camera
May 31, 2009I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC tx1218au working on Windows Vista Home Premium and AMD processor and NVIDIA graphics. I have installed the latest updates for my laptop. The problem that I am currently facing started more than a year back and is still in continuity. I have uploaded photos on my laptop and on initial stages I was able to view and edit them with ease. Later on I was unable to view the photos. Even when I load any new photos from my camera I am not able to view them. The photos donot seem to be corrupt. I have tried attaching these photos to my email and opening the same on my desktop and viewing them from my desktop.
I have this desktop which runs on Windows XP and Intel Processor. Whenever I try to open any of my photos with any of the software programs other than Quicktime, the laptop immediately stops working and it does some memory dumping and then my laptop starts again. When I open these photos with Quicktime, it gives me a message that my image is corrupt and it cannot open this file. Most of the photos appear as corrupt on Quicktime except for a select few which opens but in such a way that the photo is painted in color blue or showing some shadowy images. Because of this above problem I am not able to work with my photos on my laptop.

May 27, 2014I was initially trying to get my DVD to play blu rays. I downloaded a different player and uninstalled the HP mediasmart dvd. This didn't work so I deleted the new player and went into restore system to an earlier time and did so. After I restarted my computer it began randomly turning off and by that I mean the screen. It goes black. I click enter or left clidk the mouse (this seems to prompt it) then after 5 seconds or so the lights on the right side start blinking and the display returns. This has happened before and I forget the solution. Also, my battery died about a month ago so I removed it.

Sep 19, 2014My HP Pavilion dvr-1200 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC has a huge problem. It will not display anything other than a set pattern of rotating block colors -it goes from red to blue to green to a shadow sort of grey with vertical lines, each lasting about ten seconds, than repeating over and over. You can hear the computer starting up, and you can get it to the start page by knowing when to press enter and when to scan your fingerprint; this is as far as I can get without seeing. I've had the problem for about two months; the unfortunate thing is after about a week, I decided to hook up a external monitor to it, and got a full picture, with everything but the screen display working great. Unfortunately, in excited haste, I decided it had to be a graphics driver issue, which would just mean an update or a completely new set of drivers. Great. But I accidentally deleted the drivers I had before I uploaded new ones, and the external screen I was using went blank.

Feb 24, 2014I just recently had to do a clean install of windows 7 64 bit on a pavilion 15t-n200 notebook pc and discovered to my distress that the drivers page for this model doesn't have all the drivers such as display, ethernet, audio, and a few others that aren't installed. Support assistant doesn't recognize the missing drivers but they are shown as missing in device manager and don't come up with any Microsoft updates either.

Change the SATA Controller Mode Option in the BIOS from AHCI to Compatibility

SSD does not get detected in BIOS3. Run the 2.5 inch SATA Hard Drive Firmware Update Utility

Feb 15, 2013So I just had Windows 7 reinstalled as my harddrive died. But after the reinstall, Windows 7 only detects my laptops native resolution (recommended resolution) as 1280x800.
I know this laptop has the 1440x900 display, I have coworkers with the same laptop and their display shows the "recommended" is 1440x900, and I know that was the case before I lost my drive and got a new one with a reinstall.
This laptop has the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M adapter, and I have the latest driver for this from NVIDIA.
Why does windows think my native resolution is 1280x800. I can use the NVIDIA driver to force it to go to 1440x900, which works. I was just wondering why it is doing this. Is there some inf package that I need from Dell?

Dell :: Computer Turns Off, And Then Keyboard Doesn't Work
Aug 4, 2009I've bene playing a game (tf2) on my laptop, and 3 times now its turned off, just straight up turned off, and so I turned it back on, and then the keyboard didn't work no matter what I did.
So I called dell and they said some sort of static built up in the keyboard, and to take out battery, and wall plug, and hold power for 15 seconds, and then turn comp on. I did that and it restored my keyboard to full use.
But now twice since then my comp has shut down, and I've had to use that technique to restore it...
This laptop is only 2 weeks old, ? Why is it having problems a mere 2 weeks after I got it.
I mean I'm not even typeing fast enough to make a static charge, in game you only use a couple buttons. Also i'm on tile floors, no carpet at all, I use my laptop on a table although it does get hot.
HP Envy 17t-2100 Display :: Device Manager Won't Detect High Performance GPU
Apr 26, 2014I have had my laptop for a couple of years now. It is currently the HP Envy 17t-2100 normal edition. A while back long before this issue I had to re-install windows 7 and of course while I did download all the drivers. I was still not able to download the switchable graphics driver / program. I don't know if this is related to the issue or not.
The MAIN issue I do have however, is that my laptop no longer recognizes the high performance GPU (The AMD Radeon 6850M). I have tried installing the drivers, uninstalling, and reinstalling again. But no luck.
