View 2 RepliesMy HP Pavilion dvr-1200 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC has a huge problem. It will not display anything other than a set pattern of rotating block colors -it goes from red to blue to green to a shadow sort of grey with vertical lines, each lasting about ten seconds, than repeating over and over. You can hear the computer starting up, and you can get it to the start page by knowing when to press enter and when to scan your fingerprint; this is as far as I can get without seeing. I've had the problem for about two months; the unfortunate thing is after about a week, I decided to hook up a external monitor to it, and got a full picture, with everything but the screen display working great. Unfortunately, in excited haste, I decided it had to be a graphics driver issue, which would just mean an update or a completely new set of drivers. Great. But I accidentally deleted the drivers I had before I uploaded new ones, and the external screen I was using went blank.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have owned my new HP Pavilion 17 17-f114dx for only a month and it has worked great up to today. When I start it, it now takes slightly longer to boot up and log in. When I log in, I should see my desktop, but instead, I get a blank screen. I am able to see my cursor. I pressed control alt delete to see if anything looked abnormal and I am able to get to my task manager. Things looked fine to me. I am also able to right click a process and select "show location in folder" by doing this, it does bring up the folder. I can navigate to my internet browser from there, and still get online to post this, but my desktop is not there.
I have not installed any new hardware. The only software changes that I made were an installation of a game and I tried to update my version of Adobe Flash Player which was unsuccessful for some reason. I have tried doing a hard reset twice with no luck and also tried plugging it into my TV and nothing has worked.
When I log on my hp sleekbook 14 pavilion laptop the screen goes blank. But I can see the cursor is moving. I can hear the windows sound. I can work on safe mode. Programs running but can't see anything. OS is win 7

View 3 Replies View RelatedBlank display, connected to tv via hdmi and to monitor via vga still blank. Tried with single ram in both slots alternatively still blank. Reconnected hdd still the same. Consulted with a technician, who tells that it is possibly a IC got corrupted (maybe of the vga or graphic). Is it repairable without replacing motherboard. If so then, where do I find the IC. What is the IC model number and what else do I need to do?

When I switch the laptop on, I can hear the fan, the wifi and caps lights come on but the display remains blank. This happened about two weeks ago so I did a hard reset and that worked. When my laptop, which is a pavilion g6-1112sa model that I've only had for two tears went into sleep mode yesterday I tried to awaken it but the screen just remained blank. I've tried a hard reset again today but it doesn't work at all.

Running Win 8.1(all drivers and software current as of upgrade to 8.1) 64 bit. Only other indicator of something wrong besides the blank screen is that the caps button light is flashing.
My tv tuner INTEX IT-TV 150 FM plays only audio. The screen turns totaly white with no video signal. When calling the supporting staff at INTEX, they told me to install HP Pavilion dv4 video driver. Could this be the solution? If so, where could I find the video driver?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Pavilion g7-2235dx with Windows 8.1 operating system. Nearly every automatic update messes up my ability to get on the internet. The only way I can connect is to uninstall all of the updates. The icons on my desktop also stopped working. When I click on them, it goes right back to desktop. Can't pin them to the taskbar either. The ones on the taskbar won't open by clicking on them either. Have to right click and tell it to open. Also problem getting my Norton anti-virus to open. Says it working but can't open it.

Screen looks like it has a very dark sun glass over it. If you shine a flash light on it you can see what is there. VGA connection to another monitor works okay.
Updated BIOS to latest. No change.
Updated Graphic driver. No change.
My laptop pavilion dv6t 6b00 quad edition entertainment notebook pc. tripple booted with windows 8, 7 and ubuntu. was working nicely for a year and 35 days. today when I tried to start it, a blank white screen appears. no movement. does not work even with external monitor. even the start up hp logo does not come up to take me to bios. no movement. even lights don't change when I push the wifi or sound button on the keyboard. no external media. has super important data and loss can cause big problems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was initially trying to get my DVD to play blu rays. I downloaded a different player and uninstalled the HP mediasmart dvd. This didn't work so I deleted the new player and went into restore system to an earlier time and did so. After I restarted my computer it began randomly turning off and by that I mean the screen. It goes black. I click enter or left clidk the mouse (this seems to prompt it) then after 5 seconds or so the lights on the right side start blinking and the display returns. This has happened before and I forget the solution. Also, my battery died about a month ago so I removed it.

It did an automatic test on my hard drive to fix files, but when I restarted, it still would keep doing this test. I've tried to use a Windows Vista Upgrade/Recovery, but there is no backup and it keeps giving me an error on all types of restoration. I have just tried the Hard Disk Self Test and it says that there is an error #1 - 04 Fail. From what I've read in the forums, I will likely have to replace the hard drive, but how to recover the files from the old drive and what kind of drive I need to replace.

Ive installed the new motherboard, but now when I turn it on the lights turn on, the fan spins, the dvd drive clicks a few times but the screen stays blank. Nothing comes on even after a few minutes. I disassembled the entire laptop again and put everything back together but still nothing comes up on the screen. I reseated the RAM and HDD but still no luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've bene playing a game (tf2) on my laptop, and 3 times now its turned off, just straight up turned off, and so I turned it back on, and then the keyboard didn't work no matter what I did.
So I called dell and they said some sort of static built up in the keyboard, and to take out battery, and wall plug, and hold power for 15 seconds, and then turn comp on. I did that and it restored my keyboard to full use.
But now twice since then my comp has shut down, and I've had to use that technique to restore it...
This laptop is only 2 weeks old, ? Why is it having problems a mere 2 weeks after I got it.
I mean I'm not even typeing fast enough to make a static charge, in game you only use a couple buttons. Also i'm on tile floors, no carpet at all, I use my laptop on a table although it does get hot.
So this has happened to me maybe 10 or more times now. I hibernate my computer but in the middle of the night it turns on by itself.....
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently using windows 8 as my OS. When I attempt to start my laptop the Dell logo flashes on the screen and the screen turns blank/black and sits there for a few min before displaying an empty bar and F12 Boot Options in the bottom right hand corner.
I have attempted to press F12 to try and load windows in safe mode but everything is frozen at this point.
Is there a way to determine if its a hardware issue or windows issue. When I searched for the issue I found some with a similar issue but the link provided for support was no longer valid

I also can hear the vista opening music from when the sign in page opens........

I have an almost 2-year-old laptop with which I've been having problems for the last week or so. It all started when after hibernating the computer had a blank black screen not responding so I shut it off. After that it seems to boot up only once every 20 or so times. What happens after I press the power button: The laptop starts booting but doesn't get to the dell startup screen, after a while (after booting 3-4 times unsuccessfully) the fans even start spinning but the screen stays black and the hard drive light indicates that the drive isn't working.
LED Lights: The first light turns on, the second light turns on for a second or two (indicating hard drive starting to boot up) but then the light turns off and the computer is still running, but nothing happens. The third light is fine, there is no problem with the battery or the power supply.
I've tried reseating the hard drive, the RAM, removing one stick, then the other etc. and nothing works. The strangest thing is sometimes (very rarely) it does work, so far it booted up 4-5 times (if it gets to the DELL startup screen it's fine), but the rest 85 times it didn't .
I have an Inspiron 15R N5110. For the most part, my laptop has been an amazing machine, but not today. Now when I try and boot up my computer all I get is a blank screen and 7 quick beeping sounds.

I have an M1530 running Windows 7 64bit. I have the display set to turn off after 10 minutes.
When the display turns off I can still see a band of blue light running along the bottom of the display and at night it appears as if the entire display still has a glow to it
