View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving some driver difficulties on my Z21WN/B here.
Specifically, the wifi and 3G drivers won't work.
I've tried the Vista x64 drivers for both.
The wifi driver installs okay and it doesn't complain at all. Problem is, when I search for networks in range, it never finds any.
However, with the HSDPA card, it won't accept the drivers at all (says they are not the right drivers for the device).
I've just noticed that there is an update on Vista 32 on Acer ftp site, here.
What's this for ? I don't want to download it unless I don't get more info.
I'm considering this upgrade, but I only have vanilla install disks.
Are there issues running a non-Dell OS on an XPS M1330? I seem to recall reading something about this here, but cannot find the related thread(s).
I understand about having to find all the drivers (I have read much of the Vista 64 upgrade thread by Trebuin [thx, T - brilliant work!]), but don't want to go through the pain if a vanilla OS disk won't 'cut it'.
I have an issue with my MBP when I'm using vista. It just freeze after a few hours and I don't know why (I don't think that it is the network card driver, as suggested in other posts because I installed the driver provided there.
I just know that it is a driver issue because I got a blue screen with a notification from windows and it said that windows is shutting down to prevent damages to the computer because of a problem with a driver.all the drivers are from the Leopard DVD (excluding the network card driver).
There is no driver for Vista Ultimate on Sony website..
No webcam, wireless, burner, graphic.. etc..
could not find the x64 driver for vcc5 cam. Can anyone point me to it ? This is a major dealbreaker for me to upgrade to 64 bit.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI used to have Vista 32-bit on here and I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit. The problem is that the Sony website doesn't release Windows 7 64-bit drivers for my model as it is only sold with Vista 32-bit.

As you can see, there is no drop down menu anywhere to select which operating system I have.

it says that Windows 7 is not supported. (I have ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and my computer seemed to check out and pass all the system requirements.)
where all necessary driver updates for my computer are, as many things I've noticed either don't function the same or at all as they used to when I had Vista?
Here's a list of all the problems that I've noticed so far.
- Scroll on touch pad didn't work (Resolved by downloading Synaptics drivers)
- Plugging into the headphone jack didn't do anything (Resolved by downloading Realtek drivers but Windows Update keeps insisting I install their Realtek drivers which brought up the problem again)
- Volume buttons change the volume in very tiny increments and doesn't show the levels on screen (Major issue for me.)
- Doesn't support Dual/Multi Monitors
- Doesn't recognize MIDI Controllers (Resolved. Not sure how.)
- Card reader doesn't work. (Another major problem.)
- Webcam doesn't work. (Built-in mic seems to work fine.)
- "AV Mode" button does nothing (I've never had a use for this button but before it would make the whole screen go black.)
- Can't use the brightness up/down function keys
I have a Dell E6400. Â The OS has been uprgraded to Windows 7 - 64 bit by an authorized Microsoft refurbish dealer. Â The driver stops randomly. Using the internet, Office, version 2010. Â is there a better driver?

I moddified LV2GO nvidia 190.40 beta driver INF for VAIO notebooks. Vaio Brightness control is full working now.
I modded it for nvidia gf 9300m gs and tested on vaio vgn-cs with win vista 32bit but should be compatible with some of the newer VAIO models.
-h264 hardware GPU-decoding is supporing now (It utilizes only a few percent of the CPU)
Instalation:
1. If you already have an existing nVidia driver installed, uninstall it with its Uninstaller, then use Driver Sweeper to remove any remaining files/registry keys and reboot before you attempt to install this driver.
2. Overwrite the existing nv_disp.inf in 19040_win7x32.exe with my moddified v190.40 INF file.

I'm running Windows 2008 64 bit on Dell Latitude e6400. Most everything works. The only issue is the Ethernet Gigabit adapter. The Vista 64 bit driver exists stating that no hardware was found. Dell supports says this laptop was specifically designed for Vista, no Win 2008 support if provided.

I'm curious if the programs are identical, or if there is still a difference between the products? Ideally I'd like to have Office running in OSX, however if I have to I will run it in a VM. Mind you I'd like to avoid the headache of opening a VM to check my mail...
