Ive got problems with fps drops to 10 fps in games like team fortress2 or counter strike source. it is not the grafics card....i think its something with the CPU. it is like stottering. i can play for 10 minutes and then it starts to drop FPS.i bought my laptop 2 months ago
When i play any game(CS 1.6, Halo, UT3 absolute any game) my fps drops to 30 and lower... Why? or maybe this is becouse i have Vista SP1, but drivers is for Vista SP0... And i can't download newer drivers becouse downloading is not accessable...
Has anyone had issues with their DV5 with a Nvidia 9600mGT ? and FPS issues? I am playing DoDS, and for the last while (since I had my DV5 repaired by HP) My FPS in games always drops then comes back up and then drops again. I have installed many drivers with a clean driver install. (Used driver sweeper) I have even went as far as completing a whole system recovery again, to still run into these issues. It has become so bad, It ruins all gaming for me. Also, I think i have notice big CPU spikes, which might be causing issues... the specs are in my sig,.
When reviewing this machine I found that it had a second HDD drive bay which I thought would be helpful if I ever needed extra space, that time has come. I made the mistake of buying an identical toshiba drive to put in the second bay as when I opend the second drive bay, it was totally empty, no chasis, no connector, or any sign of where I could attach a connector to the motherboard. Why promote a second drive bay if it can't be used; or can it?
i have a Acer 7720G laptop, if those who dont know the laptop, its not exactly that low powered so i dont think it should be suffering because its weak, its a dual core 2 duo cpu, i have 4gb ram in it and a 256mb video card.
when i am playing music generaly i will be browsing websites and as i am browsing, i find a lot when i am scrolling the music really starts stuttering a lot and then eventualy goes ok, am not sure why when i am viewing websites, and it seems like it can be any site.
i am using the newest realtek hd drivers at this time.
I have recently bought the Acer Aspire 7720g laptop and kinda like the spec. Though I have had 2 major annoying issues with it. The first is that it would never boot at first attempt after an overnight shutdown. This was resolved by installing BIOS version 1.43 after finding a solution on this forum.
The second is one that I can not for the life of me find the reason. The network connections of the laptop will stop working after a few minutes and requires several restarts to make stable. This only seems to happen to the wireless connection. It does not drop signal it just seems to disable.
Yet I have unticked the 'allow Windows to turn of the wireless device to save power' thing. Updated all drivers and BIOS to the most current found version. Also when the wireless network 'turns off' I can not get into network and sharing centre or use the 'Connect To' option, they just both hang.
Even turning the wireless off and back on with the laptop switch makes no difference.
Recently I had a little upgrade adventure of my Aspire 7720G, replaced the nV 8400M GS with 9600M GT 512MB, added 4GB DDR2 @ 667MHz, and then I decided to upgrade the CPU also. I was thinking about T9500 for a long time, then I came across Intel's X9000 CPU (OEM, not the ES). I installed it, BIOS recognized it, Windows also (Win 7 Ultimate x64), but then I noticed something strange. It works only at 1.2GHz, in idle and in 100% load, when it should be at 2.8GHz. I tried my luck with power schemes, I have the latest BIOS, updated drivers and no change at all. CPU-Z reports it works at 1.2GHz all the time with a multiplier x6, it should be at x14. RMClock didn't help me at all, CPUgenie also. Old CPU was T7300, it was also working at 1.2GHz with multiplier x6 in idle but in 100% load the multiplier jumped to x10 and it worked at full speed; 2GHz. Windows Experience Index with T7300 was 5.1, for X9000 is 3.9!
Having some issues with my laptop, worked fine to begin with but recently it's not be performing as smoothly as it should or as i'd expect.
Usually what happens is, i'd load a game - any game - it would run ok for ~1 min or maybe two, then the secondary fan will kick in (very loudly) and the game will jutter and FPS would drop from say 30-50 to 5-10, the sound will begin to crackle and it's just not useable.
I've so far found a way around this and its turning the Processor Speed in the empowering technology tab to "low", obviously the laptop doesnt run as fast as it would but it doesnt tend to go crazy on me whenever I try to use it for anything more than Typing.
I wanted to open my box to check the ease (or not) of a memory upgrade but had a helluva sweaty time trying to get the compartment cover off.
After undoing the 4 screws and getting it open a bit, it still seemed VERY firmly held in the vicinity of the fan vent area.
The plastic cover is pretty thin and I was terrified of breaking it, so tried a little prying, a bit of heaving, some levering, tugging, jabbing, swearing, praying etc. I even had the computer overturned and was looking for a way through the keyboard where I was convinced that a bolt must be holding the memory cover down.
Anyway it DID finally come loose but it was a bit scary, so I've made a couple of scans and added some notes on the lugs which were holding it in place in the hope that it might prove useful to others in the same predicament.
One scan is of the actual lid and the other is of what's inside, in case you get to feel like pushing a screwdriver in there - (don't).
In the specs listed on the website, and on the sticker on the laptop itself:
320 GB Dual HDD (160 GBx2)
I am going insane, on the device manager it says I have two HDs, but I think one of them has been partitioned, the one with the windows data on (C drive) the HDs in my computer are displayed as this:
I've been told of a program call 'Raid' or something, but I'm really not sure what it actually does.
I just want to know if the two smaller HDs are partitioned and if possible, how to join them up again,
my Acer's been having trouble playing audio and keeping time. The clock problem's simple: ever since I got it it's lost time at a variable rate, averaging at probably around a minute every hour. Nothing I've done has managed to fix this, except in the short-term by updating it to Internet time.
More complicated have been the audio issues. These vary in severity and come and go to an extent, and I have had some success fixing them. Basically, since I got the computer, audio's been at least slightly choppy while playing videos over a period of time. Generally just playing audio files themselves work fine (unless something resource heavy going on in the background), and bizarrely playing videos through my browser (say on YouTube) has always been perfect, regardless of site, length or quality of video. But when it comes to playing anything from the hard drive regardless of whether it's WMP or VLC and regardless of bit rate, sooner or later the audio screws up. This can be either to the extent that it'll glitch every couple of seconds, that I'll lose sync with the video slightly, or loss of sound entirely. In fact, the first time I downloaded a video podcast on iTunes I was left wondering why the opening scene was so eerily silent for so long!
Now initially I was able to fix this by updating the BIOS to v1.45 and after that pretty much everything was good. It would still glitch occasionally on HD movies, and certainly still didn't like too much going on in the background, but generally nothing I couldn't handle. At least until now, when all the same problems have come back to haunt me worse than ever. I tried going on to v1.43, but no dice. And now I'm back on v1.45 in the vain hope that re-installing it might make some difference. But alas. I've looked at performance in task manager and it's ticking along at about 16% CPU usage, so nothing untoward there either. It seems like a BIOS problem because updating the BIOS fixed it, but now it's screwing up again under that same BIOS and with nothing untoward going on in the background or hitting the CPU too hard I'm totally stumped.
Basically, is there anything else I might try software wise, or is it time to give Acer a call while I'm still in warranty?
I have got an Acer 7720G laptop which comes preinstalled with vista.
I haved made a seperate partition and installed "Open Suse" (linux).
Each time I started my laptop it would give me an option from which I could choose which OS I wanted to use.
I wated to get rid of Open Suse and so I removed that partition.
But each time when I started my laptop that OS selector menu would still come.
So, I have then delted all my partitions and created new ones.
When I have installed the "Recovery - Factory Default" to bring back the laptop to its original state - it did install windows but now I cannot boot my laptop any more because it still tries to bring up the OS selector menu (but fails).
I think here might be a prob lem with the Acer "Recovery partition" which I didnt dare to touch.
i have the aspire 7720g (t7500, 4gb ram, 2 hard disks of 250gb etc) for2 years now.... problem number 1) i just installed windows 7 rtm home premium 32bit and the scroll control on synaptics isnt working, is there any newer driver for synaptics touchpad?
problem number 2) i noticed that from the time i updated bios to 1.45 if i work the cpu in the highest level or even in the middle!, the temperature rises from 70 degrees (on startup!) to 90-100 degrees in 1-2 minutes....i cant work anymore.... yesterday i had to upgrade from vista to windows 7 and i had the laptop directly under the aircondition with the cover open, upside down for 2 hours! the two times i tried to upgrade without doing that the laptop after the first boot (so it uses full of power) after 30-40 seconds shuts down!)
to avoid shutting down itself i did lots of things, i set the cpu speed to the lower option and i work there all the time with a lot of patience of course........... the things i did to check if all work fine:
tried to clean the fan...ok...nothing changed, fan has no dust and working properly changed thermal paste with artic silver 5 on cpu and graphics card...ok...nothing changed, maybe earned 10 seconds before its shutting down.... put previous bios....ok...nothing changed i didnt undervoltaged yet the cpu because i want to see what is the fault with the machine...
Just bought one of these ACER ASPIRE 7720G laptop's from ebay afew days back. It comes with the Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS, but i'm wondering if it's possible to upgrade this card with something that packs more of a punch.
If it is possible, what would be the ideal card for this setup?
The processor is the Intel® C2D T7300 Processor, 2 gb ram, 250gh hd space.
I have recently acquired an Acer 7220G notebook. Every morning when I switch it on it freezes on the acer splashscreen. I then reboot and it will always load up on the second go.
I have tried switching it off during the day and on again but is always ok. The problem only occurs when the power has been off for a number of hours. It is getting incredibly frustrating have to startup twice each morning.
Over-clocking with RivaTuner. Right now I'm at 500Mhz for core, 1Ghz for shader and 425MHz for RAM.
On idle graphics card is at about 63C and processor at 33C with fan off.
To put some load on system, I used Intel BurnIn standard test and two instances of 64bit version of fluidsGL.exe from nVidia's Cuda SDK (acording to GPU-Z, the load on graphics card is about 93%). Mandelbrot.exe does put some more load on graphics card, but it closes as soon s application looses focus, so it isn't as convenient.
When I run tests, temperatures are around 85C for graphics card and 65C for processor.
I wanted to ask you how much should I overclock the graphics card and what are safe temperatures? I plan to use this laptop for few more years, so I do not wan to cook my graphics card.
I bought an ACER Aspire 7720G Intel Core 2 Duo with Vista SP1 3 weeks ago and have now some problems with my WLan and with booting after sleep. WLan only works when I restart the computer after swiching on the WLan connection either by pressing the WLan button or by activating the connection in "networks and sharing center" (at least it works then, but it's annoying to restart the computer all the time). Since I use WLan at home I get a message while booting the system (Broadcom UNDI PXE.... Client... MAC ADDR:... GUID... DHCP ...not found..blabla). I use a Lan connection at work and here I have no problems yet. My second problem is that my computer really stays asleep after I woke it up from sleep or just if I would not use it some minutes. It does not show any system related information anymore and I can only restart it again. I have looked up my BIOS and it is Version 1.44 (read the thread about the BIOS problems),
i have a acer laptop that did have vista on, i have upgraded this recently to windows 7, i have just today bought a new webcam which it says is windows 7 ready plus there are no drivers needed, i can just plug it in and it will work.
sounds nice and easy =]
well, i have plugged it in and it seems to be installing, finds the driver etc, then it says cannot install, then when i go into the device manager and click into the device it sayd access denied, i have tried alsorts to fix it, turned uac off etc and still does same thing, tried in safe mode, i just cannot do it.
I picked up a 9600m GT on ebay and need help removing the bottom cover. The full bottom panel needs to be removed as it is trapping the copper pipes from the heatsink. Can anyone direct me to a guide on how this is done on a 7720g?
Recently i buyed a laptop (Acer Aspire 571 pg) this laptop is very good for browsing and watching videos, etc... I'm happy that it can handle those things perfectly But i have a big issue when i try to play some games. For example GTA IV. I start the game normally and after a couple of minutes the game stutters/ drops fps constantly. I mean... It runs well in the first 4-5 minutes, then it starts to run slow for a couple of seconds and then goes back to run normally for another couple of seconds, and then again the game runs slow, and this keeps going and going as long as i play.
Specs: [URL]... HDD: 1tbO.s: Windows 8.1 [It was originally Windows 8, but i updated the Os for free] (Maybe this was the problem?)RAM: 8gbVideo [1]: Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000Video [2]: Dedicated Nvidia 710m [1gb] ddr3Processor: Intel i7 3537U 2.0ghz [2.5ghz in turbo]
So I really don't know what to do, this fps drops are really annoying. I've tried:
-Installing new video drivers [They're up to date] -Installing new audio drivers [They're up to date too] -Changing battery settings, doesn't make much difference in balanced mode or high performance -Low the settings and resolution of the game [This keeps happening even on the lowest settings, it stutters/ it still gives me a fps drop] -Defrag my hdd [Nothing changes] -Updated my bios [The problem still persist] -Turning off vertical sync and other various settings on the Nvidia control panel.
The thing is that i used Nvidia inspector just to check the gpu temperature and i notice that when the temperature reaches 60 to 70 celcius degrees the game starts to run slowly and stutter. I've this cooler connected to my lap: [URL] ... I've the same pad just in color black. But even with that thing connected the temperature still goes up. Maybe i need a better cooling pad? What should i do to get the fps stable?
I have an Acer Aspire 7720G which has a Nvidia GeForce 9300M G 256MB graphics card.
Other specs - Core 2 Duo T5750 (2.0 Ghz), 3Gb Ram 667MHz
I've installed a clean version of Vista Ultimate but it doesn't recognise that there's a graphics card present. I've tried to instal the drivers from the Nvidia website but it aborts because it can't find the hardware.
I've also tried installing Vista SP1 but still no avail.
I have an acer aspire e1-571 g and since last week ,my internet connection (broadband or wireless ,no matter wich i use) drops randomly ..and i can't reconnect untill i restart my laptop..i've tried to change MAC,drop ip,reinstal windows, reinstal drivers of ethernet and wireless,no result.. I'm starting to think that my motherboard is faulty..??
I bought my Acer Aspire E1-57G 2 months ago. U put win7 64bit on him and installed som drivers. All worked fine for some time. 1 week ago my internet slowed down randomly, and only on this notebook.Â
I googeld a little bit and i decided to go for win 8.1 and original drivers. I installed everything but the problem with WLAN adapter was still there. If i started loading a web page sometimes it loads completely with no problems and everything is fine for some time (5 min) then pages start to loading slow or not at all. And like that all the time.
When I download something it ether downloads "fast" like 500 - 800 kbps or not at all 0kbps. On other notebooks wireless connection is ok, and at the same time when thisone is slow others do well. Win update is not slowing connection (OFF), firewall is ok, power management set  to be max for wlan adapter. I tried every solution that i found on the internet.  So what is the problem (is it WLAN adapter) and how to fix it?
I'm having major problems with connecting to the wireless network in the office. It sees the network, allows me to enter the security credentials, then connects (with confimed internet connectivity) but drops out after 10-20 seconds. I have tried the wireless network at a friend's house which worked ok without any interruptions, so it is definitely nothing wrong with the hardware. I'm using a brand new Acer Aspire V3-572-56T3 on Windows 8.1, with all the latest drivers/patches loaded and have tried fiddling with many of the advanced settings for the network adapter to no avail. I logged on to the router to ensure all settings, encryption standards, channels etc. were matching but the problem keeps persisting. This has been ongoing for two days now and is driving me insane as I really need to have wi-fi working in the office. Plugging an ethernet cable straight into the router works fine but it's not the ideal solution (and is posing an OH&S hazard as it is laying on the floor). Â FYI I have run diagnostics several times & the one thing that stood out was this: Â Diagnostics Information (Wireless Connectivity)Association status: Fail 0x00038002Association reason code: 0x00000002 Result of diagnosis: Problem foundIssue referred to: RNWF MSM Helper ClassRoot cause: Windows could not connect to "ERICSSON"You can try to connect again. I use my pc mainly for my flight simulator, its connected to my hifi system and technic turntables - so i also use it for music.
I'm upgrading my laptop and am happy with acers, so i'm looking at the 5920 or 7720G since the pricing of both are quite similar to each other.
The specs are slightly the same apart from the screen size, larger hd and dedicated graphics on the 7720G.
I will probably have a couple of games installed on the machine but it will be used for work, I do programming. The weight is no factor so that should be taken out of the equation.
I like the blueness in the 5920 but that is a quirm i have to put aside when thinking in the long run.
What is the benefits of a 1.6" increase in screen size and full enough keyboard layout?
Can someone also stick a photo of the 7720 from a user perspective (i.e: in front of it like you are using it) thanks.
Both machines i'm looking at are running the santa rosa T7300 (2Ghz, 800Mhz FSB, 4MB L2 Cache) with 2GB ram
