Dec 16, 2014Need my WiFi drivers for my Acer Aspire 5560. I no longer have the repair disc for the Aspire, but was reciveing a lot of errors and decided to use another disc to reinstall Windows 7. Once W7 was installed I was still missing my network drivers.

Jan 9, 2015I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 with 1TB HDD. The disk is slow and want to replace with a 500GB SSD. I can remove the HDD and put in its place the SSD. However, how exactly to get Windows 8.1 installed on the SSD and the other Dell provided pre-installed software?
I made a factory image usb flash drive on a 32GB stick by using the backup & recovery software that came pre-installed. I also updated that software to the latest version available. However, when recovering from the flash drive it gives an error code 0x400110020000100A and does not restore Windows on the SSD. The SSD is formatted as NTFS (or FAT32 tried both) and can be read by the laptop if connected thru' a USB port. So, I know that the SSD is working and good.

The ones who tried it, how easy was it? from the manual it didn't seem too hard the only think that seems kind of dificulty was removing the keyboard..Is there any trick for it?

Regarding the heat grease, it was mentioned in the other thread

Is this, only in case we notice that there isn't adequate amount? or should be applied some in any case?

May 9, 2014I was making a Windows 7 recovery disc set, usning the Lenovo Thinkvantage tools, and one of the first pop up windows that came up said "Note: DVD RAM is not supported for Disc 1 of the Product Recovery disc set". Does this meen that I cannot use a DVDs for a Recovery discs? That is all I have.

Nov 19, 2007I got a new 120GB seagate Momentus 7200rpm HDD in the mail today. I wasn't expecting it yet (I actually wasn't expecting it to ship until today) so I wasn't ready for it.
I need to know how I can copy windows from my current 60GB HDD to my new 120GB...but I don't have a Windows Xp CD. I know there is some way to make an "image" of my current HDD? But when I research that it gets a little confusing because they are always how to's for backing up your files rater than making a CD that you can actually install on a blank HDD.
How many CD's will it take If I un-install all my programs first and basically just copy Windows itself?
I'm not interested in going out and buying an external caddy and copying directly to the new HDD externally UNLESS that is the only way to do it. I need a way that it can be done like...2day! cause i'm anxious!

Jul 26, 2009Its a Vaio pcg-7g2L. He says it crashed and its dead. I know the dvd drive needs to be replaced because it was stuck closed for a LONG time.
Were can I purchase a replacement dvd drive? I cant find them anywhere online.
Also, is there anyway to get windows installed or downloaded? we have the service tag and Windows Xp sticker on the bottom. Can I reformat the HDD and in install Windows 7 Beta for now?

All went well until it asked for the licence key. Does the W7 upgrade licence key come with the discs or in an email? The original vista key does not work.

So, I purchased a used Dell 1545 off of eBay that had everything with it except the Operating System. I figured - no problem.
I've ordered recovery disks with absolutely NO problem for other manufacturers. What a mistake that was.
I got in contact with Dell. They insisted that they need to know the original owners name in order for everything to be transferred so I can get the disks. Only one problem - I can't .....

Nov 17, 2009I just received Windows 7 Upgrade Disc from Dell, and it says "Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional Upgrade" on the disc and COA also says "Win Vista Bus to Win 7 Pro UPG Fullfill."
I was curious if it is really impossible to do a clean install with upgrade disc as regular upgrade disc is. (At least I was told that it is impossible), but I did not want to upgrade my notebook to Windows 7 yet.
So, I gave it a try on VMWare. It installed just like regular Windows 7 disc in a empty HDD. It even took COA that came with the upgrade disc.
I did not try activating because it probably will fail if it uses SLIC to activate, or in worst case, it will get activated on my VM, and I will be unable to active it when I actually want to upgrade my notebook's OS

Mar 30, 2013I have a dell xps17 (l702x) laptop recently had a problem with it , that is it wouldn't start up and when i turn it on after 2 seconds it would just crash , so i changed the motherboard , processor and and it fixed the problem to some extent .. now my problem is i that when i turn on it loads to a certain extent then when it reaches the windows start-up logo it would just crash and restart again . so i tried the diagnostic test available by pressing F12 it dint show any problem .. looks like my windows got corrupted due to the sudden crash earlier
I tried to boot from the windows repair disc but it wouldn't boot ( i did change the boot up to cd / dvd) then i tried to boot up from the windows 7 disc , it would say "press any key to boot from cd or ddvd " after doing so it would load the files and and crash again at windows start up . i even tried the safe mode option . it wouldn't load it completely and get stuck , i tried to restore to the last good backup it would still get stuck at windows startup .
Dell Inspiron N5110 :: Without OS - No Disc With Drivers For Windows 7
Jun 7, 2011I received the Dell N5110 laptop without OS today. Strangely package also didn't contain any disc with drivers. When I installed Windows 7 as usually it didn't recognize many devices. Ethernet controller was among those devices, so I couldn't connect to the internet and use Windows Update to find the drivers. Using my mobile phone as a modem and Windows Update I managed to get Ethernet Controller, so now at least can connect to the internet directly. But Windows Update doesn't find drivers for rest of the devices as it did for my ASUS notebook. Drivers and Download Support section for this notebook also isn't very useful, there are basically no drivers at all... So how am I supposed to find them? So annoying.. Dell, is it that hard to list relevant drivers in the downloads?
How can I find the right drivers? Meanwhile I'll try my luck with these: [URL] ....

Nov 1, 2014I've just bought a HP Pavillion laptop, it runs on Windows 8.1, but am unable to play any form of disc in the optical drawer. They whizz around, but i get nothing on the screen, so am unable to play dvd's/cd's or even load a disc for my printer. I've gone in to Device Manager, and selected cd/dvd, and have an error message saying 'Windows cannot start this hardware driver because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19).

Jan 8, 2015I recently got this laptop and wanted to upgrade to Windows 8.1 immediatly since it came with Windows 7. This was of course and option with the disc set that came with the laptop. Unfortunately i have encountered problems in the installation/recovery of Windows 8.1.
When the laptop is finished using the actual disc's (i say finished because it spits out disc 4 which is the last one) and is booting into the OS to do the last installing it "freezes" in the middle of "dowork.cmd". In the cmd window it tries to access a destination directory which it can't. Instead of writing it here, i'm just gonna link a picture of it:
I just don't understand why simple recovery discs would cause a failure... Googling the problem has only lead to this: URL....

Sep 28, 2013I have purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad T430. This laptop came with pre-installed Windows 7 Pro. However I want to use Windows 8 which I have a recovery disc for.
I built in a SSD instead of the optical drive. So I don´t have a optical drive. On this SSD I want to run my OS.
With a software from Samsung (manufacturer of my SSD) I was able to copy the Windows7 OS on my SSD.
As I mentioned above I bought a laptop with installed windows 7 pro and a Windows 8 upgrade disc. Therefore I got the "Operating System Recovery Dis Windows 8 Pro. (OEM Activation 3.0 Required)".
The problem now is that I have an upgrade disc but no optical drive. So I created an image of the upgrade disc and with this image I have created a bootable USB stick with the following program:

When I boot my laptop using the bootable USB stick everything seems to be working until to the point where I have to accept the EULA.
So I chose a language, and clicked on "I accept the agreements".
When I want to click on "next" I got a error message "recovery failed".
