i can no longer acess the internet via WIFI. The WIFI symbol is no longer showing. I can only acess internet via the cable line. I had Windows 8 pro installed on the system just fter i bought it and since then there is no WIFI and cannot detect any WIFI with the computer . I have model Aspire E1 - 572 laptop
View 4 RepliesJust bought an Acer Aspire E15 and have been setting it up today and managed to get connected to the internet through the wi-fi however I have noticed that the wifi keeps dropping and leaves me with nothing and then I have to manually go in and select the router again. This is happening all the time, I am on the internet for no longer than 2 mins before I get the unable to access the network. There is no problem with the network it just seems to be my new laptop. I looked this up and was told to change the power management settings and did so and am still have the same problem. I also updated the driver and again am still having the problem. Also tried ipconfig /flushdns and again the problem persists!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5515 Laptop. Has a built in Wireless card. It detects the hotspots with no problem. It connects to the available networks with no problem. But it will not connect to any internet service. Strange, but that is also what trouble shooter says. Connects to network, but not to internet, thus browser cannot resolve to any URL.
I even disabled firewall to see if it would help, but it will not.
Even has issues trying to network at home using ethernet cards. Detects, but will not connect.
I bought this pc 24. december 2014,and from time to time, my internet loses connection while other devices don't loose connection (WiFi)....

But, since the driver thinks there is no access, I have to disable WiFi to force the laptop to use the wired LAN. Device Manager says everyhting works fine. Driver update says I have the latest driver (12.10.29.0 dated 2014-05-02). My T430 with the same adapter works fine. What do I do? Only difference between T530 and T430 is the T530 is in a dock.

After turning the wifi off and back on the internet connects and works for few hours. After few hours, it lost internet connectivity again with the same above symptoms. I have this laptop now for 3 days and in past 3 days I had this problem at least 25 times.
I bought a u310 slightly used but had a failing HDD. The person who was using it installed an operating system on the SSD and now I can't seem to access the bios at all. I had read that this may happen if Rapid Start is not disabled before formatting the SSD.
What do I need to do to be able to access the bios again? There is no bios files listed as a download for this computer so I can't even seem to be able to flash the bios.
I already sent it to lenovo to replace the HDD and instead they tried to charge me $167 to image the machine, which I said no to and they sent the computer back without fixing it.
I have been having an issue with my laptops internet for the past few days . It would work for an hour and then all of a sudden stop . I would get a notification saying no network access . The internet on every other device in my house is working fine . So far I have unplugged and rep lugged the modem . I have searched everywhere online and I found no solutions . I have an HP Pavilion DV2700 (DV2799ea) that is about a year old. It has built-in bluetooth which can be quite tempremental. A week ago I searched the net for a way to get my bluetooth working properly and decided to download the latest version of bluetooth for my laptop from the HP website. I then restarted my laptop, like it said. The bluetooth worked perfectly. My internet connection, however, wouldn't work.
I tried going into the very beginning of the laptop and rolling the computer back to a few hours before I installed the new bluetooth in the hope that the bluetooth would be gone but my internet would be back (as I would rather obviously have internet than bluetooth). This did not work.
I also started the laptop in safe mode, but this made no difference.
I also tried diagnosing the problem, finding a new IP address, restarting the laptop again, changing router numbers etc.
I also tried disconnecting the bluetooth, but this didn't make any difference.
I also tried completely removing the wireless connection and then reconnecting it all, this also did not work...................
I contacted HP support yesterday because my HP Spectre 13 Pro notebook has a lot of difficulty getting wireless internet access. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it works then drops out; and it is never able to connect using my iPhone as a hotspot for more than 10 seconds.
HP support person instructed me to install 2 updates. Now my laptop is completely not working!! It says "Boot Device Not Found". I have to wait for a technician to completely replace the hard drive, then wait a week for a USB plugin to load up a new system.

When I swipe my finger, a message indicates that simple pass is launching the address but nothing happens and the website doesn't open.Simple Pass came with my HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 CTO laptop with a 64 bit operating system. I currently use windows 7. Google Chrome is my default search engine but I also use IE on occasion. Previously when my Simple Pass worked, my BOA location was only opening in IE.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTill now, my G510 with Win7 64 bit worked perfectly but after going into flight mode and coming back, it no longer recognizes any internet sources, wired or wireless.
Windows troubleshooter says I need to 'turn on wireless capability'. I don't see a wireless hardware switch anywhere on the laptop, fn+f5 does nothing and in the panel for the flightmode, only bluetooth appears (which I can also activate). The device manger says all of the network devices are working normally. I tried reinstalling the latest drivers from Lenovo, but that didn't do anything either. The Windows Mobility Center says that the wireless is turned off, but the 'turn wireless on' button is greyed out and is not able to be clicked.
In an earlier post, it was suggested to check if in "services.msc" the "WLAN AutoConfig" function is activated which is in my case true. WIFI is also activated in the BIOS.
Last thing I tried, was to bring with windows recovery the system back into a state where everything worked fine but also that did not work.
Dell inspiron N7110 with windows 7.. the kid did a factory restore? on the laptop. i was able to reload windows 7 but now he has no internet access.

My network card is on the fritz, to put it simply. I randomly lose internet access, and my network connection is listed as "Limited Access". Sometimes turning off the adapter and turning it back on solves the problem, but sometimes I need to do a full reboot. My system is the only one affected, so I know its not the router. I have already viewed the similar threads and tried the methods advised with no success.
So far I have:
-Updated my drivers
-Disabled Broadcom Bluetooth service at startup
-Disabled Hybrid Sleep
-Told Windows not to shut the network card off.
I did a System Refresh last week and that's when the problem started.
I'm a high school junior with a year+ old Acer computer that has broken down twice and is now out of warranty. I purchased this computer with my own money.
My Aspire M laptop will not boot due to the 'boot configuration file being invalid', at least, this is what the 'Recovery' blue screen states. The blue screen offeres to 'Press Esc for UEFI Firmware settings, but is not responsive. I've tried F2, F8, F10, Alt+F10, F12, Space Bar, Delete and Break to try to activate the BIOS interface, all equally unsuccessful.
I followed the instructions to purchase recovery tools from Acer, but without being able to access the BIOS to set the boot order, I've just sunk another $25 into a laptop that doesn't work.
whether the AC power adaptor itself should show an LED light on while it is plugged into the power (and not just when it is charging/connected to the laptop too)?
My Dad has come over here on holiday with an Acer Aspire 5720 Model ICL50. It had been working fine, however this morning we started getting the low battery warning sound, despite the power cable being plugged in. We have taken plugs in and out, taken the battery out etc, but the laptop will show no sign of receiving more power via the adaptor.
I figure its either one of two things - either the adaptor has died, or there is an issue with the power connector in the back of the laptop itself, perhaps it got knocked and damaged internally or something.
I can´t enter BIOS on my notebook, I don´t know what´s the problem what to do now.
What did I do? I had Windows 7 installed and everything worked well. Then I decided to install Debian GNU/Linux instead. That worked as well, though I had some issues with wifi connection and the system did not shutdown properly. That´s why I wanted to reinstall Windows. In order to boot from DVD, i had to change the boot order, because Debian always changes its own boot priority to max - so at this point BIOS was still working! During Windows 7 setup, I formated all HDD partitions, created new ones and BAM! Windows 7 would not installt because it has some problems with GPT partitions, it said it could not install to this partition (I tried all). So I canceled the installation and restartet the system. Of course now it printed "Operating system not found". I could not even enter BIOS (allthough it showed the normal message "Press F2 ..." and the Windows 7 installation had trouble finding some drivers, so it did not even start correctly. The Acer Recovery I created from Windows 7 (before installing Debian) started, but it failed to copy the first file and ended. So nothing worked. However, I could install Debian again, which is now my OS.
Current situation: OS is Debian 7, it´s working, but I have many problems with it (cannot change display brightness, often looses wifi connection, instantly reboots (!) after shutdown) Can´t enter BIOS: I have tried F2, DEL, ESC, F10, F12 without success. Debian is again at boot priority #1, and I can´t change it without BIOS (so not able to BOOT from DVD etc) I have tried to short the G2201 contact (service manual describes how to use it to remove BIOS password), no success. Maybe it´s import that I use GRUB bootloader, which was automatically installed with Debian...
But, I heard from the Dell's call center that my selected Intel 5300 is no longer available, so they will change Dell 1520 wifi.
In addition, they said that a Dell 1520 is brand new, and it will be different from older Dell 1520.
Is it true?
I just started my Aspire 5520 laptop, and when I get to the desktop an error pops up saying that I can't access the location of my desktop (C:Windowssystem32configsystemprofileDesktop)
Only thing which shows up on the desktop is the recycle bin.
The Vista theme is changed to classic and I can't get it back.

I can't open the control panel (in safe mode I can, but not all of the icons are there that should be there)
In the task manager there's only 4 processes running:
eplorer.exe csrss.exe taskmgr.exe (of course) and winlogo.exe
I think I can open all of my programs that I got installed, but basically I almost can't do anything else.
I've been trying to use system restore, but even in safe mode it won't open.
My Aspire V5-552PG-X809 has frozen 5 times in the last two days. Why is this happening, and how do I stop it. I just got it back from being serviced about two weeks ago, and did a fresh install of windows recently.
Here's the timeline for my system: About 6 weeks ago the system froze and needed a hard restart. Upon restarting, nothing would load. I couldn't access the recovery partition, and repair media did nothing. I sent it back to ACER for repair, and they replaced the HDD. It ran fine for about two weeks, but I was not paying attention during setup and put in the wrong username (This normally wouldn't be an issue, except it changed the name of the user directory and was a hassle for some R code that I had written). I reinstalled windows and fixed the directory issue about two days ago. Since that time I have had about 5 system freezes requiring hard restarts, and every time I'm paranoid that it will kill my HDD again.
I purchased an Acer Aspire about a year ago and the laptop has seen minimal. I have experienced a common problem that Windows 8 users have. When I upgraded to Windows 8.1 - I got a 'failure to reconfigure updates' reverting back and it would go into a loop and continually do this. I only discovered this was common after. ALT+F10 does not work for me. Even though it appears the option is enabled on my computer. Currently if I can get the function to work - ALT+F10 did up until recently bring me to 'Preparing Start Up Repair' - then it would go to System Restore.
After System Restore started, the splash screen would just stay displayed and nothing happens. I am attempting to order recovery disks but apparently non US customers have issues with ordering them. I don't understand how this can happen. I have not used the laptop very often at all. It's practically a fresh install. In a year it has maybe seen 50 hours of usage. I have no way of accessing system recovery options as of now. The laptop is essentially bricked.
All I have just recently re-installed windows 8.1 to my Acer Aspire ES1-711-C231 laptop, the touchpad was working fine before but since the re-install it is no longer recognised/detected by windows 8.1. I have download the device driver from the support page (Elantech touchpad) but still no joy.
