I have a brand new Acer Aspire E1-572G. It has 1TB HDD and with no partitions. So I want to create partitions as I wish, but before that, I would like to know if the recovery option will work if I alter the default HDD structure. Before I have failed with restoring after creating partitions with some other brands.
View 3 RepliesI recently bought Acer aspire E15 model E5-572G-5577 which came with i5-4210m (2.6 to 3.2Ghz),8GB RAM,Nvidia GeForce 840M 2GB dedicated VRAM,1TB HDD and freeDOS. Since i recieved Win8.1 x64 for my Birthday i bought this laptop without windows and installed 8.1, as Acer claims that fully supports this OS.
Everything was ok in installation and i even installed HD4600 driver but when installed Nvidia driver although it looked ok and it was shown in device manager the graphic card wasn't show in my display (only HDGraphics) and in nvidia control panel i had only the 3D settings option but still it seems that 840M hasn't kicked in.
I assume its the driver so after many attempt with different drivers i still have the same issue. The laptop is brand new and in OEM 8.1 it seems to work but not for all of us that have a bought copy of Windows. I have wasted so much money on a Acer with 840M GPU that wont work.
rebooting from partition drive. I want to reboot back to factory install. I don't care if I lose existing data. No I do not have recovery discs. ACER IS TO CHEAP TO INCLUDE WITH NEW LAPTOPS>

Here's the timeline for my system: About 6 weeks ago the system froze and needed a hard restart. Upon restarting, nothing would load. I couldn't access the recovery partition, and repair media did nothing. I sent it back to ACER for repair, and they replaced the HDD. It ran fine for about two weeks, but I was not paying attention during setup and put in the wrong username (This normally wouldn't be an issue, except it changed the name of the user directory and was a hassle for some R code that I had written). I reinstalled windows and fixed the directory issue about two days ago. Since that time I have had about 5 system freezes requiring hard restarts, and every time I'm paranoid that it will kill my HDD again.
I purchased an Acer Aspire about a year ago and the laptop has seen minimal. I have experienced a common problem that Windows 8 users have. When I upgraded to Windows 8.1 - I got a 'failure to reconfigure updates' reverting back and it would go into a loop and continually do this. I only discovered this was common after. ALT+F10 does not work for me. Even though it appears the option is enabled on my computer. Currently if I can get the function to work - ALT+F10 did up until recently bring me to 'Preparing Start Up Repair' - then it would go to System Restore.
After System Restore started, the splash screen would just stay displayed and nothing happens. I am attempting to order recovery disks but apparently non US customers have issues with ordering them. I don't understand how this can happen. I have not used the laptop very often at all. It's practically a fresh install. In a year it has maybe seen 50 hours of usage. I have no way of accessing system recovery options as of now. The laptop is essentially bricked.
I bought an Acer Aspire 5520 few years ago. It has a partition with Windows Vista installed on that. Unfortunately that partition is deleted completely so I can not recover my laptop to its factory setting.

Is there anyway that I can install that original windows Vista again? I looked behind my laptop and there is a label with a product key. Is that useful?
I bought an ES1-511-C590. It came with Windows 8.1 with Bing. It has a built-in recovery partition named push button recovery or something.

I really do not like built-in recovery mechanism on the same HDD. I perfer a DVD/USBÂ or any external media.I wanted to export that recovery parititon to a DVD/USB. I searched the web and found that I needed to use Acer eRecovery Managment application. But mine did not came with that software, and I could not find it on Acer's web site either.

I installed Windows 10 on it. I did not like this laptop, so I decided to sell it. Now, I want to make it to factory settings. Pressing Alt + F10 showed some kind of error, like it cannot verify the signature of winload.efi. I thought Windows 10 somehow messed it up. So I installed normal Windows 8.1 Pro I had. Then tried Alt + F10. Now, it did not show that winload.efi error, but it asks me to insert a recevery media. That is, it does not recognise the recovery partition.

By the way, the screen of Alt + F10 looked like stock Windows 8.1 screen from Microsoft, not Acer. When I watched it on their web site, it showed some kind of Acer recovery program. Is this normal?

What happened? Is my recovery feature broken? I can still see the recovery partition (11.03GB), why can't I recover it? Any method to recover the factory state.
I have Acer Aspire 6920 Notebook which came with vista home premium in 64 bit installed. I have made Recovery disks (3 DVDs) and had resorted to factory defaults several times by using the DVDs and not by Alt+F10 (at that time I did not know about alt+f10). I now have removed the 64- bit vista home premium and have windows-7 Ultimate RTM, Vista Home Premium and XP Pro all in 32 bit in three separate partitions in one single hdd. I have also done BIOS upgrade from 1.06 to 1.14. I have SATA mode set to IDE instead of the default AHCI due to XP not functioning under AHCI interface.
My BIOS shows hdd pw frozen by default though I have removed the hdd and set the BIOS to default twice. I find the Vista Home Premium in 64 bit OEM is a real pain since it has a lot of third party softwares – free and sharewares – which I have to uninstall every time (more than 20 of them) and therefore I tried to delete the acers recovery partition which is of 18 GB size and my Notebook with 250 GB hdd shows only 232 GB.
However, the partition is hidden and I have tried to unhide and delete the recovery partition with a number of third party partition softwares like Paragon, partedit32, Easeus, Norton, acronis, G-parted, macrium reflect, all with no success!
Now I request the learned members to give me a solution that will work, in simple procedure explained, to unhide the acer recovery partition and deleting it without disturbing my present OSes installed on the three partitions. Macrium does not show the PQ Service/EISA partition.
I may have destroyed the recovery partition when I used EaseUS Partition Master to split the C: partition into two partitions. How to recover the partitions necessary for recovery? Â When I do to Advanced Startup, I do not get a 'Troubleshoot' option.

I DO get the option to remove the Driver Recovery Partition after backing it up to USB but not the 10GB Recovery Partition. It's a a HUGE deal on a system that only has a 32GB hard drive.
My wife's Aspire One 725 went down a couple of months ago with a bad hard drive. Of course, I hadn't maed a recovery USB. I finally ordered one from the Store, and tried it out tonight. I set the boot order to USB HDD, and, well, nothing happens! First, I see a cursor in the top left corner, and then I see the little circle of balls wait indicator, but i never get any other screen! Could I have a bad USB media from ACER?Â

View 4 Replies View Relatedthis all started when I first purchased my laptop (Aspire V3-572G-54S6, Windows 8.1) when it was on sale for a great price in mid-August. I had heard great things about Acer, loved the specs and look, and was excited to get it. It arrived a few days later, took it out of the box and with the first start up my display was messed up. About 1/4 up the screen tear a little and the top of the screen was being duplicated at the bottom........never had that happen before so I got in touch with Acer support chat, I updated video drivers, rebooted, did a complete power drain, etc. The problem persisted so they had me send it in for servicing. I got it back from servicing just about 2 weeks ago, and it was fixed! Or at least it was until this past Wednesday when the problem returned. Now the problem only occurs when I've had it on for 30minutes to 1 hour, as it is fine on start up. The service log/sheet I got back with it said all they did was software updates, updated BIOS, and nothing hardware related.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got an E1-572G Acer Laptop and I'm having a problem with it.When I press SHUT DOWN the screen goes black but the power led is on.. and I can't turn it ON because I have to press the POWER BUTTON for about 5 seconds then all the led-s turn off and then I can start it. I searched on Google, made a few changes in settings (FAST STARTUP, etc) but I'm having still the same problem. I have this problem about 2 weeks, and I'm really nervous about it.

I would like to use a normal microphone with an 3.5mm connector. The microphone did not work by directly plugging the connector into the socket, therefore I bought an adapter which splits the 4-pin output into speaker & microphone sockets.

Now the microphone does work properly, however, unless I am connecting external speakers I am not able to use the internal notebook speakers. (maybe because the notebook assumes that a headset is plugged in)

One more thing to mention: If I plug in the cable, a popup on the notebook appears asking which device I just plugged in. Sadly my only three options are "headphones", "speaker output" or "headset". NO MICROPHONE OPTION !!!
I've tried disabling certain services, which seemed to work but only for a little while. Is 5400 rpm's too slow to run Windows 8.1 just because of all the programs and services that run in the background?

Its been a bit of a lemon so far, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt for just a while longer as I'm not particularly tech-savvy so perhaps the problem is me. Yesterday the volume icon (on the bar at the bottom of the screen) stopped working altogether. I can press it with the curser and it changes colour in the way it should when you click on something ... BUT nothing comes up ... no sound/volume control thing that I can adjust. I know I can use the Function key and arrows, but that is just fiddly, and for a brand new computer, I expect things to work.

I have a Acer Aspire V5-572G running Windows 8.1 and have found that the microphone jack won't recognise any external mic that is placed into it. It won't detect on the sound option despite the fact all the drivers are updated.

I have a new aspire E1-572G that won't shutdown completely over an update to windows 8.1 ... I've Updated the Bios and downloaded the drivers from the support site.
I've done a recovery to default factory settings and tried again......no luck
I installed windows 8.1 after i installed al windows updates.
Just got this Lpatop, popped battery in, plugged it in. I turn it on, keyboard backlight comes on, the fans spin up, nothing comes on the screen. Nothing is coming out of the HDMI port, really frustrated at this point as this is the second Acer laptop i bought that had issues (granted first one was used so I gave Acer a pass).Â

I have a new E1-572G laptop. Long story short, I installed Win 7 on it, and after that, Ubuntu 14.10. I had issues with bootloader, but after fiddling around with legacy/UEFI booting, secure boot, and things like that, I almost successfully configured the laptop. When I selected the ubuntu uefi bootmgr in the bios, in secure boot mode, I rebooted the laptop for what I thought the last time, but then it did not go past the Acer logo. Only combination that works is ctrl+alt+delete. If I remove the hdd, then the acer logo flashes for half a second, and a black screen appears, with a static console cursor at the left upper corner.

I searched a lot in the topic, wanted to reset the bios, but there is no jumper for this, nor can I remove the bios battery. I wanted to reflash the bios, but I could not find proper instructions on this.
