I'd really prefer to just get what I paid for: functional BT 4.0 and unhindered WiFi both at the same time. Acer's own literature says it can do that, so I expect that as part of my purchase.
View 8 RepliesPurchased from Amazon 2 months ago and worked perfectly without a hitch until a few days ago when I got on the receiving end of the win8 equivalent of the BSOD with the . From them on I ended up with slow boots random pauses etc. I opted to refresh the PC without affecting any files but toward the end of the reinstall the BSOD appears and now all I had was a black background with only a white cursor.
Left that for over a hour, nothing happened so held down the power button to force shutdown. Found that Z500 no longer boots into win8 so eventually decided to do a clean reinstall with the onekeyrecovery via NOVO button. This should have been the end of all the problem I was having but unbelievably the problem is still there.
Research what I could about this and found that the slow boot is caused by hard disk constantly being thrashed about by a system file ntoskrnl.exe. I tried updating the wifi driver and it appeared to have done the trick until the next day when I booted up the system again. It appear that the constant hd activity goes away after a few hours of leaving the PC on.
Anyway I have drawn a blank as to what's going on especially as everything was working perfectly until up to that point with no signs of system conflict.
I am in the middle of choosing a new laptop (Acer Aspire Timeline 3810T with Core 2 Duo SU9400 versus this Acer Aspire 3935 with Core 2 Duo T7350).

I am interested to know the real world battery life with the powersmart function enabled since none of the reviewers tested it.
I have almost applied all methods. I have checked bluetooth is enabled in the bios settings. And also I applied the method of services.msc in command prompt.
I pressed Fn + F2 during installation but bluetooth option is not going to be on. I do not think why it is giving that problem. I have uninstalled the drivers now.
I've got a new Dell XPS 15 four days ago. I've been having a lot of issues with its internal mSSD drive. The model I ordered has a regular 1TB hard disk and a 128 SSD. I was quite surprised to discover that the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (that allow faster data access by using the SSD as cache) is not enabled by default. I tried to enable it but no success. An "unknown error" message box showed up when I attempted to do so. That was really strange, considering that the only thing that I've done so far in my computer was installing MS Office and Google Chrome.I contacted the tech support three days ago and I was told to reset my computer to factory default and try again. After a long wait for system restoration I enabled the acceleration mode in the Intel Rapid Storage software.
Everything proceeded according to expected, but when I rebooted my computer it failed to detect any bootable device. I can't even access the system restoration by pressing F8 during initialization now. especially when we consider that this shouldn't be happening in a premium $1,999 model. Also, shouldn't this KEY feature (caching with SSD) be enabled out of the box?
I've got an e6400 and the internet is PAINFULLY slow. This started a little while ago on any WiFi network I use. I changed the drivers and recently upgraded to 7 so I have no clue what it is. Downloading a driver from Dell was downloading at 3.7 kb/sec. It is insane. A computer right next to me is fine.

it connects but is extremely slow. There are other laptops that connect to the router and they have fast speeds. My computer has vista home premium, 4 gb, intel core 2 duo cpu, t8300 @ 2.40 ghz.
I upgraded the operating system on my HP Envy dv-7-7240 laptop today from Windows 8 to 8.1 (64 bit), which included Explorer 11. It went pretty much as planned and everything was working fine except my web speeds slowed down to a crawl. I disabled all the add-ons, and reset explorer, but that didn't work.
Note: I was experiencing slow internet (I'm on cable by the way) and a couple of other issues that I couldn't get resolved, the main reason I upgraded to 8.1. It resolved all of the problems except for the slow internet.
Last week I bought a small Aspire One 1.6 Ghtz Wind. XP with 1 gig ram and it is the slowest laptop I have ever owned.
I boot up and get on line, and then I have a 30 - 40 sec wait every single time I try to change screens.
The problem is not booting up, or even getting on line, but it takes too long to get from screen to screen once I am on line.
Before I throw this away, as I can not return it, please, what do I do with this $300 doorstop?
My netbook runs very slow when on battery power. I've tried every power option and while "Home/Office" seems to work the best (even better than "Always On"), it still runs slower than when plugged in. I'd like to get the same performance on battery that I get when plugged in, even though I understand I may have to sacrifice battery life. Is there a way to do this, or at least to improve battery performance?

Its currently running extremely slow and struggles to perform basic tasks my older lower spec xp laptop had no problems with, such as playing music from my external hdd. Startup seems to take an age also.

All of my other wireless computers are working and theres no router conflict. I can stand right beside the router and there will be no connection. I took out the wireless card underneath and put it back in hoping that it would do something to make it work...but sure enough its going all wacko. Sometimes it'll stay at 54/sec or it'll go down to 24, back up to 36 and then to 1mbps all within a matter of like 3 seconds...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new Acer Aspire 5536 Notebook. It came pre-shipped with Vista which I did not want.
So I tried a fresh install of Win7 - formatted drive etc,. Machine takes 5+ mins to boot so I put this down to a compatibility issue and tried XP. However I have the same problem, fresh install with only updates installed and it takes forever to boot (even longer than Win7).
Once booted performance is ok (in Win7 it was near perfect). Any ideas, I am beginning to think it is defective.

I can't figure out why the Acer Aspire is not performing as well as the HP Pavilion.
My Acer V3-371 that I bought 5 days ago is slow after updating BIOS from v1.05 (when I bought) to v1.08 and v1.11.
I have checked hardwares and see that:
- CPU: OK
- RAM: OK
- Wifi, Ethernet, Bluetooth: OK
- HDD: NOT OK (see the attached picture) This situation usually occurs to halt the system for a while repeatedly.
(Both of OS Win 7/8/8.1/10 Preview and MS Office software are installed from the iso files downloaded from Microsoft websites)
I carried it to Acer Service Center, but they could not find out any problem with HDD and missed to check the compatibility of BIOS with HDD.

I have read that numerous other people have experienced this problem but I have not found a solution that works. I have tried updating the driver and changing the battery power settings etc. I have spent ages transferring all my files accross so am reluctant to have to send it back now.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust bought an Acer Aspire E15 and have been setting it up today and managed to get connected to the internet through the wi-fi however I have noticed that the wifi keeps dropping and leaves me with nothing and then I have to manually go in and select the router again. This is happening all the time, I am on the internet for no longer than 2 mins before I get the unable to access the network. There is no problem with the network it just seems to be my new laptop. I looked this up and was told to change the power management settings and did so and am still have the same problem. I also updated the driver and again am still having the problem. Also tried ipconfig /flushdns and again the problem persists!

It originally came with Visa but I downgraded to XP and had been using it without problems for awhile. It started getting a little slow so I recently installed (and soon after uninstalled) a bunch of optimizing / driver updating programs. After playing around with those, my laptop is running super slow... I can't watch videos, the buffer causes it to just show the image while the audio plays... After running Dr. Hardware it looks like my CPU is only running at 800mhz which is a lot slower than it used to.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 7520 that is 2 years old, the system specs are:
- AMD Athlon 1.8GHz Dual Core.
- 17" WXGA+ CrystalBrite LCD.
- 4 GB DDR2.
- 500 GB HDD.
- NVIDIA GeForce 7000M.
It worked fine for a year but starting the second year, the sound card started to fail, and by that I mean that the sound sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't, but I solved this problem by buying an external sound card.
Two months ago I accidentally hit the laptop in the wall and after that incident the Graphics card can't process anything that requires high or medium graphics for example:
-When I play 720p videos the video runs very slow, it should be noted that I used to play 720p withouth any problem before the accident.
-The Windows Experience Index for Graphics went from 3.4 to 2.0 after the accident.
-Games that used to run at 30-40 FPS, now run at 2 - 3 FPS max.
- Windows AERO runs very slow now, so I if I want to use windows I have to run Windows Classic theme.
Things I've done:
1) Format my PC and tried different OSs XP, 7.
2) Flash the BIOS.
3) Change the Hard Drive with another one.
4) Change the RAM.
None of these things worked.
Does anyone know what might be causing this problem?

My problem:
I am playing "Dragon Age: Origins" and, for the first time, a game is very, very slow. I already reduced the graphics in game, i already searched better drivers for the graphic card and got no better results. Besides that, the latests drivers recommended for my graphic card has unusual results in windows: sometimes, it blinks!
I already re-installed my Windows Vista to get better results... and got the same.

Have a AS5610 and recently it is dog slow on bootup (8 Mins until the computer is usable). Have removed hard drive and scanned it with several malware scanners, tested the hard drive for physical problems as well as running memtest on the memory. None showed any problems.
Have run msconfig and disabled everything and that allowed a usual computer after 4 mins.
I ran a shareware util called BootLog XP and it appears to indicate that LVPRICINJ.DLL is running for 509 secs of a normal bootup. This is the logitech video camera driver. I was thinking of uninstalling the Orbitcam software and drivers but can not find the current drivers on the Acer (N America) site.
So I reinstalled my windows on my laptop, a few months ago and after that I noticed that my games load very slow.(All games).
One example is Dota 2, it takes about 4 mins to load to the main menu and then I have to start an offline bot match in order to load the map which also takes ~5 minutes. I didn't had this problem before reinstalling the windows and I really don't know what can be the problem...sure I installed all my drivers but not sure if they were good since you get tons of drivers for things your laptop doesn't even have

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5515 Laptop. Has a built in Wireless card. It detects the hotspots with no problem. It connects to the available networks with no problem. But it will not connect to any internet service. Strange, but that is also what trouble shooter says. Connects to network, but not to internet, thus browser cannot resolve to any URL.
I even disabled firewall to see if it would help, but it will not.
Even has issues trying to network at home using ethernet cards. Detects, but will not connect.
I just got this brand new Acer Aspire 5534 notebook (laptop) a few days ago. The wireless has been working just fine and all the systems are functioning as well. last night when i turned on my laptop and went onto the internet the screen on the webpages were flashing violently. The flashing is worse when i move my cursor, type, or if the page loads. Some sites like Facebook and google the flashing gets worse while im on them.
I have tried changing my battery settings, uploading "drivers" and updates, and disconnecting my wireless. I know that the problem doesn't lie in my wireless network itself since the problem occurs no matter what wireless network im using. my LAN communication network indicator is flashing orange. I have heard that this means that the wireless is connecting with my laptop incorectly or sending "traffic" or something. I am assuming that maybe the problem is with the way my computer is recieving wireless or something realating to that since i can be on any network and the orange LAN light flashes and the screen flashes too.
