Aug 26, 2013I updated my HP Pavilion g6-2293sa Notebook PC to Windows 8.1 advance release and the WiFi adaptor no longer connects to my router. The driver states all is working but no wifi is found; the PC crashes sometimes when running the trouble shooter.

Oct 13, 2014Have an Aspire One model ZG5 AOA150-1570 running winXP.
The hard drive has had a failure and after running disk checks (dskchk) using a special mini XP boot CD, I was able to view and copy my important files, pictures and videos to a thumb drive. Now I need to replace the drive but can I somehow use the directory and files of the protected area/hidden partition on the bad drive and copy that to a new drive and use those files to restore to initial specs on the new drive using e-recovery. I can use the alt-f10 to boot to the e-recovery on the bad drive but since the drive is bad I don't want to revert to factory specs.
Again can I install a new hard drive and somehow copy all the files needed (what files would they be?) from the old drive to the new drive and then run the e-recovery restoring the computer to factory specs with this new drive installed??
If for some reason I can't do that or if it fails while trying I can always reinstall with a new installation of XP.
HP Presario C700 Networking :: Can't Get To Connect To Internet Only Connects Local
Nov 28, 2014I can't get my presario c700 to connect to the internet. only get local connection. I have tried using compaq's website, microsoft, and atheros website. Nothing is working. I've downloaded a bunch of different drivers. I've found multiple forums with links to drivers that worked, but when I click on them they can't be found. Getting extremely frustrated. All of my other devices connect fully so I know its not my router.

Under Internet Sharing, I selected:

By default, OSX's natd (NAT Daemon) use the IP configuration from /etc/bootpd.plist. The IP subnet is 192.168.2.xxx.

HP G60 Networking :: Notebook Connected To New Router But Won't Connect To Internet
Feb 10, 2012I have an HP G60 Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium, it's about 4 years old. I recently got a new Cisco Linksys E1500 wireless router, which is connected to my home computer. My laptop shows that it is connected to the home network, but it will not connect to the internet. Other laptops in the house are able to connect to the network and the internet. Mine seems to be the only one not working. Why isn't it working? What do I need to do to fix it?
I've run network diagnostics. It says "A problem with you network router or broadband modem might be preventing an internet connection." I've unplugged both of these and tried again. It didn't work! I've also connected my laptop straight to the modem and it still didn't connect to the internet. I've tried resetting the network adapter. My IP settings are set to automatic.
My internet connection wasn't a problem before last week (when I got a new router).

Dec 25, 2014First I need to let you know that my home network consist of a Motorola modem/wireless router from my ISP. I have the wireless turned off, then I use a cat5 ethernet cable to connect a Belkin wireless router so that I can use the two USB ports on the back for a Networked storage device for doing regular backups on all the pc's in the house, and my non-wireless printer, so we can print from anyroom of the house, instead of taking the computer back to where the printer is. So about three days ago I got my Aspire 5734Z-4386 laptop, and I did not have a wireless connection. So I checked my phone, and it still had a connection to the Belkin. I took about ten minutes to troubleshoot the Atheros AR5B93 wireless adapter. Could not understand why I didn't have a connection, it was working great about 12 hours before.
So for some reason I used another pc and logged into the Motorola and turned the wireless back on, and immediately the Aspire was showing a connection available, I clicked it and it said "connecting" for a few seconds, and then showed "internet connection". I spent about 5 minutes surfing the internet, and then disconnected from the Motorola and reconnected to the Belkin, it said "connecting" for about a minute, then the yellow triangle came up, no internet. Went back and clikced the Motorola, again internet connection, but not on the Belkin. So I got the other pc and checked the webpage for the Belkin to make sure the Aspire hadn't gotten blacklisted somehow, there's nothing there to explain why I can't connect. So I have spent three days, uninstalling the adapter, and re-installing, I used the Motorola to download the latest driver for the adapter.
When the Aspire is on the Belkin network with the rest of the other pc's, I have no problem moving files from and to the Aspire. I can use the Aspire to log in to any of the other pc's and right-click a file and copy to the Aspire, and watch the file show up on the Aspire, or take the Aspire and copy a file over to another pc, or use another pc to access the Aspire. But I can not get an internet connection, unless I'm on the Motorola network. Now I had the wireless on the Motorola turned off so all the connected devices would be on one network so we can share files, and other network connected activities.

Aug 16, 2009I get a red X over the internet icon and my router will no longer recognize any networks. I called my ISP and the manufactuer of my Belkin router. So I went out and rought a brand new Net Gear router. Still not working. I called Net Gear and they think it's my wireless card?
Is there a way to determine for sure if its a hardware problem? Maybe I need to download a driver?
Is there a wireless switch on my laptop? Do I need to configure my new router? I'm hoping to use my Belkin router if it's just a driver problem so I can take back the new router and get my money back.
Pavilion dv6=7135nr entertainment PC. Windows 7.
Acer :: Aspire 7520 Tuning Wi-fi Router
May 30, 2008This is my internet system: I got a VPN type of connection, i got LAN first, then a direct VPN. The provider hooked me up with those LAN settings (IP, mask, gateaway), so i HAVE to set em the local network settings before i connect, otherwise, my MAC adress gets blocked. After I have bought the laptop, I felt like makin' some Wi-Fi around; so I got MSI RG54GS2 now.
I don't know how to make all this work now, lol. I called my ISP company boss and asked him to disable the router's MAC adress' blocking, so I can free tuning my new router now.
Just gimme some advice which type of connection I should pick, where I should put my previous LAN settings n stuff like that.

Have to restart few times to be able to have the search for wireless device. When able to connect, notebook will hang upon surfing net. Notebook always hang and have to press off button to restart.

Sep 21, 2014I've seen quite a few issues with Windows 8.1 and WIFI on this forum, but this one is a bit different.
I've got a brand new Aspire E 15 that came with windows 8.1. When connected to the network by cable everything works fine. When I try to connect via wifi strange things start happening.
I can see my network. I try to connect and it asks me for the security key. Then it connects. About 1 minute later it says it can't find the network. Other devices that were happily working on that networks wifi suddenly loose connectivity as well (hard wired devices don't seem to be affected). I end up having to reboot the router so wifi works for the other devices.
I made sure the Atheros AR956 adapter has the latest driver - v10.0.0.285 and all windows and acer updates are installed.
Acer :: Poked Out The Cable That Connects Motherboard To LCD
Jun 1, 2009After I was done cleaning my vents and fan today, I was greeted with a white screen upon booting up.
Since the screen gets power, and it works when connected to an external monitor, I do believe I have accidentally poked out the cable that connects motherboard to LCD.
And since that's under the not-user-accessible portion of the case, it may take a while for me to get at it.

Nov 4, 2007I got an Aspire 1360...has worked great since the last month. The wireless has been having a mind of its own. All of my other wireless computers are working and theres no router conflict. I can stand right beside the router and there will be no connection. I took out the wireless card underneath and put it back in hoping that it would do something to make it work...but sure enough its going all wacko. Sometimes it'll stay at 54/sec or it'll go down to 24, back up to 36 and then to 1mbps all within a matter of like 3 seconds...

Feb 23, 2015I have just purchased an Acer Aspire E5-511, it repeatedly loses internet connection (wifi) despite still showing as being connected. I have read that numerous other people have experienced this problem but I have not found a solution that works. I have tried updating the driver and changing the battery power settings etc. I have spent ages transferring all my files accross so am reluctant to have to send it back now.

This is happening all the time, I am on the internet for no longer than 2 mins before I get the unable to access the network. There is no problem with the network it just seems to be my new laptop. I looked this up and was told to change the power management settings and did so and am still have the same problem. I also updated the driver and again am still having the problem. Also tried ipconfig /flushdns and again the problem persists!

Apr 10, 2009I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5515 Laptop. Has a built in Wireless card. It detects the hotspots with no problem. It connects to the available networks with no problem. But it will not connect to any internet service. Strange, but that is also what trouble shooter says. Connects to network, but not to internet, thus browser cannot resolve to any URL.
I even disabled firewall to see if it would help, but it will not.
Even has issues trying to network at home using ethernet cards. Detects, but will not connect.

Nov 26, 2009I just got this brand new Acer Aspire 5534 notebook (laptop) a few days ago. The wireless has been working just fine and all the systems are functioning as well. last night when i turned on my laptop and went onto the internet the screen on the webpages were flashing violently. The flashing is worse when i move my cursor, type, or if the page loads. Some sites like Facebook and google the flashing gets worse while im on them.
I have tried changing my battery settings, uploading "drivers" and updates, and disconnecting my wireless. I know that the problem doesn't lie in my wireless network itself since the problem occurs no matter what wireless network im using. my LAN communication network indicator is flashing orange. I have heard that this means that the wireless is connecting with my laptop incorectly or sending "traffic" or something. I am assuming that maybe the problem is with the way my computer is recieving wireless or something realating to that since i can be on any network and the orange LAN light flashes and the screen flashes too.

1. bought a used Acer Aspire 7741G-6426 from my brother-in-law.
2. he had removed the hard drive, for security reasons
3. I bought and installed a Solid State Drive
4. I downloaded Windows 7 Home Premium from the Microsoft site
5. installed, successfully, Windows
6. Now, no Internet access. Device Manager shows an Ethernet Controller, but says the device driver for it is not installed. No wireless controller is found.
7. I downloaded the Broadbank LAN device driver from the Acer site (on another computer, of course; carried it over to the laptop on a USB drive). When I try to update the driver, Device Manager says it finds the driver but it is missing a file.
Is there another place to get drivers? Is there a self-installing driver available?
