Acer Aspire V5-122p :: Won't Turn On When Put In Hibernate With About Half An Hour Battery
Jan 23, 2015
Last night I was using my laptop and it had about an hour of battery left when I put it in hibernate. Today, I tried to turn it on and absolutely nothing happened at all.
I tried taking the battery out, hard drive out, and the CMOS button battery out and leaving it for about half an hour. Put it back together again and nothing. I've had it plugged in for a while and the charge light is on, but it's not turning on still...
For a while now, my wireless has been cutting in and out and sometimes takes about a half hour to an hour to be able to connect again. Other laptops in the house connect to the same internet connection just fine. I met a girl last night who was saying how her internet wont connect anymore and she had the same laptop as me so I'm assuming its the computer and not the internet.
even before this issue though, the wireless networks window, when you click on the two computers to see the different connections, it always freezes to a white window to begin with and will take up til an hour to actually show the different connections.
This problem is incredibly annoying and i just want a solid internet connection without it cutting out .
I have a W530 that is about 7 months old, and the battery, which used to sustain for 4-5 hours with moderate use of the computer, all of a sudden lasts no more than about half an hour. It was not a gradual change, but more overnight. When I look at the power manager, I note the full charge capacity of 10.23 Wh, which is extremely low for a battery that is only 7-8 months old. What would cause such a dramatic reduction in battery capacity in a matter of days, when I did not use the computer differently, or is my battery simply defective?
i was just wondering about a couple of things about my d630 and see if i am out to lunch or is there something wrong with my laptop?
1. The Fan, the fan seems to run on full throttle all of the time. i used to have d800 and it will never did that. Its not like it does it when its hot or needs power, but the fan runs at full speed all of the time? is this ok?
2. Battery life - may be due to the fan, but my regular cell battery only lasts about an hour or an hour or 15 max? is this normal .....
I go to store to update to windows 8.1 it says I need to update important updates first so I go to settings into change pc settings etc etc and it never finishes updating the updates.
Bought this notebook on Oct.30/14. Used it this past Friday; was working fine. Plugged it in for the night and the next day, I noticed the fan was running and I wasn't able to boot it. It won't shut off using the power button on side. The only way to shut it off was by using a paper clip on the reset on the bottom of the notebook.
i have an acer aspire v5 122P. all of a sudden the keyboard has or is not responding that is unless you hold the relevent key down for what seems like minutes certainly cant type normal speed.
My laptop touch screen doesn't work consistently. my laptop suppose to have "full windows touch support with 10 touch points", but then when i checked out my pc info, it says "limited only".
I was given a laptop aspire v5-122p and the ALT+F12 for internal recovery is not working. The hard drive and partition seems corrupted and damaged. Windows 8 try to start but a message says there was something wrong and that it will try to fix fit but it restart and do the same in a loop. I scanned the hard drive with an application that let me run it from a usb bootable flash drive. The hard drive came with sector errors.
If i install a new hard drive, can i order an erecovery disc and install everything or do i have to do something special? i read somewhere that clean hard drives need to be prepared first with another set of tools provided by Acer. The tools provided in the link are in an ISO named "Format CD".
I'm trying to reflash my BIOS from a USB stick to save a dead Aspire V5-122P. All I find is that I should extract the BIOS files found on the Acer website and load the resulting .fd file onto a USB.However, as my laptop is dead I have only a borrowed MacBook to work with, and none of my efforts to unzip the .exe file to its constituent parts have been successful. What is the BIOS files available for the V5-122P can be extracted, and if not tell me if there's any other way to find the correct files to reflash the BIOS?
I have an Acer Aspire V5 122P-0408 notebook. I am considering upgrading the 5400 rpm hdd inside to an ssd. I will also be buying a new copy of Windows 8.1 to install. I have version 2.04 of the bios now. The latest bios version is 2.12. I was wondering if I would be able to install an ssd and 8.1 without updating the bios as I don't want to accidentally brick my laptop.
If not, would updating the bios fix any compatibility issues or add any new improvements?
My acer aspire v5 - 122p went through an automatic update recently after it powered back on it never booted past the initial Acer boot screen I eventually did a hard resetbut now the screen stays completely black the fan is on the blue lights are on but nothing else. From what I have read online you can flash the bios but the file I have downloaded on the Acer website does not match any of the tutorials I have read or watched.
when my computer boots up it says "automatic repair" then it says "diagnosing your pc" then it goes from the logo screen to a blue screen that says "automatic repair" it gives you options and plenty of them but none of them work for my notebook computer. im starting to think of just throwing it away because it cannot be repaired and i dont have a warranty on it anymore in order to send it in. even if i did have the warranty it would take months to get back to me. so.....anyways ive tried command prompt to somehow reset it to factory defaults but i do not know how to do that. when i click on refresh your pc it says "there was a problem with refreshing your pc." and then when i click on "reset your pc" says "there was a problem resetting your pc" ....
I have tried turning off computer and letting batteries charge, tried turning of and holding power button, this model has internal batteries, I don't want to open laptop and try disconnecting batteries.
I have one Acer aspire 5740g. i had leave it on and when I came back (had spent over an hour) I found it off. Now when I try to start it nothing appears, the screen is still black and the computer seems to not process anything, but I hear the fan running. is it the BIOS problem or what it can be? browsing is the most common option I've found, also tried to do a power reset and nothing.
My Aspire E1-572 suffers somewhat of the dreaded black screen of death. The computer needs about an hour to start, but when windows finally is loaded, it works like a charm. The "F2 for bios screen" takes about an hour to load.I have done a Acer factory reset.Tested the WD-hard disk - No faults, I've run memtest86 - No errors. I've tried to update the bios from Acer's download section, but all I get is error. Like I said, the computer works like a charm, only it takes about an hour for start up.
My acer 7741z 4643 wont come on with the battery or plugged in all i get when plugged in is a blue battery light that blinks from bright and dims a little bit .....
I have a new Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series laptop. I'm not sure if this is something I accidentally turned on, but I cannot figure out how to turn it off: Whenever I turn on the computer, the default voice speaks the time and date. It also speaks the time on the hour when the computer is on. I cannot figure out how to turn off the voice. I checked the Ease of Access settings and have verified that the Narrator is OFF. How to turn off the voice that reads the time?
does anybody know if there is some way to set F1 to F6 as function keys and F7 to F12 as multimedia keys at the same time?
This would solve all my problems as I only really use F1 to F6 in windows and would like to be able to use the multimedia keys at the same time without having to change the function key behaviour in windows mobility center.
The only options so far are to set the entire function key row to either multimedia or function key first
Why does my E1-521 laptop shut down every time? Regardless of what I select, sleep, hibernate, close lid, it still shuts down. That is not what power buttons are set up to do, seems to make no difference what those settings do. It may be a coincidence, but I think I started having problems when I turned on "OneDrive".. which I can't seem to turn off! Running Windows 8.1....
Dell Inspiron n5110 does not hibernate or turn off when i give the command. when i give the command a black screen appears and the power button light, the sleep button light remain on. I have to then hold the power button in order to turn off my laptop. This started happening since yesterday. Before that it was working perfectly fine.
I thought I would check how long the battery hold out on my new studio 15, which I got two days ago. Surprisingly, only roughly about an hour. Is this normal? When I just unplug the power cord, it says 3 hours.. and then the remaining time of the battery dropped quickly inpproportionate to the physical time past. The whole time I was just surfing the internet, IMing and playing music. The battery is 56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery.
Before you say anything ive tried upping the setting in the brightness section. it cuts my ability to brighten it by 50% so say there are 6 brightness settings overall. On battery you can only have it at level 1 2 or 3
I have been using my laptop at home for the past 6 months for most of the time. When I am running the computer I have it charged with the Optimised Battery Health option, so, less than 60% is charged all the time, and I have never removed the adapter if I am using it. But, when I went to sleep I removed the adapter from the laptop.
What happened: Today finally I am taking it out for a breath and it lasts for only an hour!!!!
What was on: I was using it to do some research online only. So technically only wifi was on - not even bluetooth or video or music play. I only ran Chrome, a dictionary software, and my Dropbox. Well, I actually turned the screen into very bright, which was full brightness minus two presses of F11 (to decrease the brightness).
Would it be a cause of upgrading to WINDOWS 8.1?! (like upgrade to iOS 7 on an Apple phone: running latest iOS consumes lots more battery capacity in older iPhone..)
When the battery is very low like say 10%, no warning comes up saying that the battery is running low, instead my laptop chips out and it doesnt hibernate or sleep so whatever i do that isn't saved is lost so these days when the battery is low i plug it in and i can continue working. my laptop is a hp pavillion g6 2237nr and it got a pretty bad fall about a year ago but it was working fine up to now.Ialso want to know, if i do have to replace my hardrive will my intel core i3 processor go with it?
I was listening to some music yesterday night, then suddenly my laptop decided to shut down. No problem I thought, becaus it happened 2 times before in which I only had to start the laptop. This time however, the laptop does not want to turn on.
I tried turning it on with the battery, and without the battery(with the adapter plugged in). Nothing helps.
Also I have noticed that the light bulb on the adapter blok blinks if it is plugged into the laptop, but just normally doesnt blink when i pull the adapter out of the laptop(with or without battery).
