having a problem with my acer aspire one netbook... the scene is that i bought a netbook cupl of months ago,the 8Gb hard and 512mb ram version... and yesterday i got a new 1GB Ram to install in it... for that i found out a video on youtube about how to do it... opend up the laptop, had a bit of hard time to install it and put it back all together again and working again... now every thing is working fine.. the laptop detected the new ram, the hard is working, the webcam and the wifi, all are working good... now the problem that i m having is that after installing the new ram, the display of my laptop is not proper... i mean to say that .. lets say that the size of the netbook screen is 9 inches x 6 inches... only 7x6 area from the left is corner is workin and the display is visible... i can see the display perfectly fine on that area.. the thing is that only 7x4 area from the top left corner is the real display.. the remaining 2x4 area below that area repeats the same windows display again... also that the display screen is not showing the fulll display.. it only shows the area of the display that covers the screen 7x4 area... if i want to see the start bar or the right side of the display, i have to move the mouse to that area and then the view scrolls ....
I have an Acer Aspire 5535 , i pulled the bios battery out from the MB and i reseted the bios that way , now the monitor is blank (black) , the HDD starts , the cooler starts ,
I just got an acer aspire 4736Z this week. I got one that came with no operating system since I got a windows 7 install disc for christmas.
I set it up just fine. I got to install a few programs.
Then I thought of hooking up an LCD monitor. But because of how my table (as in the desk I sit in front of) is set up, I made the second monitor the "Primary" via Intel's graphics options. The actual monitor on the laptop then was secondary.
All went fine. I was still able to use both displays for quite some time. Then before bed I shut the laptop down. This morning, trying to turn it on, with the monitor still attached, nothing is displaying on either. Not even the stuff that come on when the BIOS things should be showing. I tried to unplug the monitor, but the same thing happens. Nada. It's all black.
The power button led turns on, and the two little led lights below the touch pad are on. But pressing caps lock, the caps lock indicator does not light up..
I started having problems with my laptop weeks ago. First, there were problems with the screen. Sometimes when I turned the computer on, the screen didn't displayed, so I had to try several times for it to come. Then, even when the image appeared, if I moved the laptop a little bit or it was on for a long time, color stripes would appear on the screen.
After that, one day i tried to turn on the computer and a message appeared that said that the operating system could not be found. By then I asked someone at my school and they told me there could be a problem with the hard drive. So I took it with them, and they told me it was so damaged that there was no way to recover the information I had, so I lost all of it. They formatted the drive because in that way there was a possibility I could save the drive even though the information was gone. So the next step was to install Windows XP again.
So I started doing that, but when I turned on the computer, now there wasn't even a message that said that the operating system could not be found. Now there's only this white line flashing on the top of the screen. What can I do now? For what I've read, there can be a problem with the master boot record. Considering that there's a huge chance that my hard drive is really useless now, I was thinking about buying a new one, but I fear that even then I'll still have problems with that boot record.
If I close or open the Display part of the screen and or all of the screen turn's black and or blue shortly, it flickers more or less. On some positions I don't get any flickering at all, but if I just slowly open it and adjust the viewing angle it tend to apear and disapear.
Also I can reproduce it if I slowly and very gently touch the top edges of the lid and slightly push on one side and pull on the other. Not much, just a bit. Also if I put a little pressure on the left bottom side of the screen it tend to get this flickering.
Black & Blue are not the only problem, sometimes the screen turns black all of the sudden and white stripes apear on the right side / partly left side and it looks like the display is burning in, it slowly gets white and the effect moves slowly to the middle of the display. Also an indicator for that problem is that part of the pixels on screen get blue and or flicker blue. Then bigger parts bet blue and so one.
The usual open / close / adjust viewing angle works to make this disapear for a while.
Also 3D extensive games and HD movies seem to cause this problem.
I bought a acer aspire 4720 couple of months bank. the machine was going great only till a day back. yesterday i started facing strange problems. as soon as i plugged in the charger cord ( while the machine was running), the display used to go dark... well i then used my laptop without the charger cord plugged in. After an hour or so, the display went completely dark....as in the display lights just went off.. u can still see the stuff on screen if u hold the laptop under some light source...but the lcd back lights are not glowing......i put in hard earned money in buying that laptop....
I am trying to set up my son's 3620 for use by my wife and I am having issues with the display size. I have a 2" black strip of screen down the right side of the screen and the menu bar appears to to twice the size in height and can't be adjusted. I have tried everything I know to get the display to go full screen to no avail.
I have downloaded and installed the latest VGA and video drivers from the Acer website. I have tried uninstalling and then try to let the system find and re-install new hardware and it 'bombs' out each time saying it can't find what it needs and I need a CD.
I am working on a 5100 Aspire. The display is garbled and I can't do anything with it. It has Media Center edition XP. I need a recovery disk to recover the driver for the display driver.
I have an Aspre 5742 which is a couple of years old now. It is running Windows 7. I have been trying to output the display to my TV but it is not working.
When using the HDMI connector there is no output whatsoever. I have followed the suggestions on the Acer website about detecting connected monitors but this does not detect my TV ...
When using the VGA output the deTect function detects the presence of the TV but the TV does not detect the computer.
I have connected another computer to the same TV using the same cables (HDMI and VGA) and everything works just fine.
I have updated the video drivers on the Acer but there is no change.
A few months ago we had to change the hard disk as the original packed in. I put in the same model disc as I took out and reloaded tyhe software from the rescue disc. Prior to this the HDMI worked perfectly.
Bought an acer aspire 6930g(6049) couple of months back.
im happy with the performance & all that, but one thing that really bothers me is the lower center part of the display (to be exact, rite on the acer logo) gets extremely hot.
now i've heard that some samsung lcds have overheating problems & this particular acer's display is a samsung-made. so i was wondering if its normal for these acers to get the display heated or is there something wrong with my piece?
I discovered this when I charged my laptop 'til morning converting lots of videos.
Sometimes that weird bunch of lines appear in the screen, if I try to refresh, it just disappear. I also bought this last Feb. 19, 2010 so it still has warranty.
I purchased an Acer Aspire V3-772G-9822 laptop in August 2013.I had the original unit exchanged by the retailer due to a faulty screen (green line running down the display).
I also had the mainboard replaced near the end of the warranty period due to an internal fault with the power supply [case #3414447U].
I am now just outside the warranty period, with (ostensibly) a new mainboard, and the unit will not boot .
I have tried the remove-battery-and-power-supply-and-press-button exercise (resetting the power management IC, I presume) - no success. I have checked / re-seated / removed any / all / each internal SATA drives - no success. I have removed the memory (unit off) to see if I'd get a POST beep error message - no success ...
I have a problem with the video being all messed up in my Acer laptop. I made a short video which shows the problem - basically it's a persistent blue colored lines flickering everywhere where the background is supposed to be white and stable. Needles to say it renders my laptop almost unusable.
Today when I turned on my Acer Aspire 3820t the screen was much darker than usual. Everything looks fine and is visible, but just looks like I set the brightness to the lowest setting. I tried changing the brightness but it looks the same no matter what I set it to.
I use an external display in addition to the built in laptop monitor and the external display is working fine.
I have an aspire V5-572 notebook with win 8.1 and the only partition. I made 2 more partitions using AOMEI partitioning tool. after rebooting it shows the usual win 8 loading screen but no display comes then. complete blank screen and no desktop.
1. I assume the partitioning was done perfectly as there was no error message 2. OS loading accordingly without any warning or error message 3. At the black screen the mouse movement showing and sometimes the wifi symbol flashing up at the almost middle-bottom of the screen.
I experience the following display problem with Acer Aspire 5942G:
When certain colors are displayed on the laptop screen, thin diagonal lines ( like waves ) start moving all over the mentioned color ( see the attached photo and movie).
The effect is very annoying and well seen when You look from underneath the display. The exact color depends on the color calibration and the Acer Cine Boost Color Engine but always exist.
I attach a test pattern of 4 colors - they are light ones. Each color reacts as explained depending on color calibration : default MS Windows 7 calibration , default ATI video driver calibration, Acer CineBoost Color Engine On/Off.
It is not affected by hot/cold notebook, battery/normal power. It does not affect the external display.
I have a Acer E5-511 model and I need to install win 7 on it.But when we change the mode from uefi to legacy and reboot the system ,auto no display coming .Only display came in uefi mode.
I have a Acer Aspire V15. When I plug my laptop to my 42" Panasonic the image displayed is zoomed in so I cannot see all the icons and toolbar on my TV.
I bought the Aspire R13 just 2 days ago, but the screen visualization doesn't automatically orientate when I rotate the display. I checked the auto rotation on the screen properties and it is on.
The auto rotation was the main reason to choose this new laptop....Could be the sensors do not work properly?
My Windows 7 Acer Aspire 5552 laptop 's display brightness has lessened and I can not even open Power Options in Control Panel. When I connect another monitor to my Acer Aspire the brightness is just fine. Audio service is not running either. What should I do?
1) Disabling Adaptive Brightness 2) Turning the brightness settings to max 3) Trying the brightness settings in the Intel Graphics configurator
The laptop is much darker than any other laptop i've ever had. I have a Yoga 2 and a Macbook Retina 13 that are both much brighter. Its very hard to see ....
I have an aspire5734z laptop and can no longer control the volume with the Fn up arrow/down arrow buttons. Have no display of vol, wireless or cap lock any more. I've been through everything I can think of in control panel and can't find an answer.
Recently, the screen on my laptop goes blank, then after a few seconds returns to normal with a message that the display driver stopped working but has recovered.
Is there a possible solution to stop this happening?
I recently got an acer aspire e15 for xmas and I've started to have problems with it like when i turn it on and adjust the screen or simply pick it up to move it the screen will turn off like a standby but take ages coming back on and sometimes it will just simple restart the laptop....
Just purcased Aspire E1-510-2611 - 64 bit, Windows 8.1 - as it was set up in store as display model it appears to be in "Display Mode" - with account already entered, etc. How do I reset to factory defaults so that when I turn it on it is just like turning it on for the first time or is there a better way to get back to the "just out of the box" condition?
