i finally got my instant-on media player working on my laptop but it will not play mkv files or bluray discs. this is the main reason for using the software.

#1-Can I update that to Windows Media Player 10, OR, Windows Media Player 11?
#2- If yes, which one? (Would 10 be better?)
#3- Or would both, either, of them be too large for this AAO?
#4- If I can update to 10 (or 11), where would the best place to get the download?
#5- Would 10 or 11 OVER-WRITE version 9 (which is now on the AAO)?
#6- Why was such an 'old' version 9 installed on this AAO?
Is corrupted in my Acer 5313. From What I understand it is part of Vista and I cannot delete it out. So I am thinking about doing a restore. This laptop did not come with a restore disk.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi have recently bought acer aspire 6930 g laptop but when i play song with windows media player it play normally but when it turn on wow effect and tru bass of windows media player i found that the sound of song stop although it is still playing and when i turn wow effect off the problem continue but when i turn wow effect off and close windows media player and play the song again the song paly normally as this problem does not occur till i turn on wow effect of windows media player also i notice that when i turn on laptop its vista boot time is slow ..is this slow boot time is normal in acer aspire 6930 g and you should know that my model of acer aspire 6930g has processor core 2 duo t6400 2 ghz and 2 mgb cach and 4 gb ddr2 ram and has dobly home theater and 1000 gb hard disk.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell n5110 laptop and since I have made a clean install of windows, dvd(Matshita DVD+-RW UJ8B1) wont work. It was working perfectly before. I have checked everything but all seems to be OK. Fix It wont find anything nor Dell Support Center. Device Manager also says I have the latest driver with no problems.

I have a dell inspiron e1705, and my dvd player is not playing the dvd at certain points on it.
i tried playing it in another dvd player of mine, and it worked fine. is it my computer, or hardware/software?...
it makes sounds like it is trying to read it... made sure to clean off the disc {did it several times}. this is not the first time that this has happened either...
When I did a clean install of Vista on my computer, I must have wiped out the program that plays the Blu-ray discs, because it doesn't do anything when I put a disc in. Is there a way I can download this program again, or does anyone recommend another program to use instead?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the newest driver for the nvidia 8600..Which is like a year old now..Sometimes I would get the old blue screen crash and dump when viewing certain dvds..So I checked nvidia's website and got this driver and now I can't even watch dvds in the windows media player 11..I like to use it and other players work like the built in Quickplay..
I thought it was the codec but I am not sure what to do..I have tried a couple things installing codec packages and what nOT..Downloaded the new Divx 7 package and it gave me back avi and some files will now play..But some are s till a green blank...Also the dvd playback won't even do that or play sound..It kinda starts and everything freezes and its just black..The WMP locks up and becomes un responsive...Have shut it down and start over..I was thinking of going back to the old nvidia driver that I had but now sure how to do this..
I have a D630 with XP Home, 2GB ram and a NVIDIA video card.
Lately if I power up this machine and play something in Windows Media Player, the system crashes. The whole screen goes squiggily and out of focus.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Yoga 13 and have been avoiding the 8.1 update but was forced upon me yesterday. Media player stopped working but found the update on this site.
However all old videos now play fine but new ones taken today will not and just says 'Windows Media Player has stopped working'.
I have a desktop HP Envy h8-1417c 64 bit PC and I recently updated to Windows 8.1 (from Windows 8 - which came loaded on the PC). After the update, Windows Media Player still works fine, but it will not accept new album art and information when I try to rip one of my new CDs to the music library. It searches the internet, and finds the correct art and information, but when you click accept, nothing happens. The CD selections simply stay blank. I can still see the older files info and art (prior to the update) so I know it has retained what was already ripped. I also have a music editing program called Gold Wave (which works with Windows 8) and it can no longer find album art. I also have iTunes loaded and have no problems finding album artwork and info with this program.

I have never before on any computer experienced that even after such an error, nothing seems to be broken. I went to BIOS and ran the examining tool, and you can see below the results. What's the next step to do?

Got an Acer Aspire 8920, bought last august,I got it hooked up to a Sanyo hdtv via hdmi at the highest resolution, Ive played one blu ray before just to test it [ the incredible hulk] and it worked fine, but that was the only time i played blu ray..... yesterday was the first time i bought blu rays for it though [pitch black and chronicles of riddick] excited i put it in asked me for updates which i did and bam played it but when id go to full screen it would startlike flashing [like the screen goin on n off... you could still see the image but it with the flashin in between] n then it crashed so when ibooted it up again it wouldnt play it would just stay in a black screen
So reading around and people were talking about the area changing it from A to B so i did, and seemed to be reading the disc again, but the flashing kept happening...its like watching a video game goin at a lower framerate, it just keep flashin n jumping from scene to scene
so i kept reading and found that the acer arcade delux might be the problem so i read that powerdvd is the best player...went, bought it installed, not only crashes on me sometimes, but when it gets to play, again when i put it in full screen, gives me the same flashing tried at a lower resolution i get the same thing
My computer laptop is Dell XPS L401X. The problem is that my Instant Launch Manager key and another media touch key " Realtek HD Audio Manager " aren't work, but the Windows Mobility Center touch key is work. What happens to my computer right now and i really feel bad about it. Also, i wonder what the driver name of those media touch keys.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI bought new Dell E4300 with 7200 rpm harddisk. Notebook is nice except one problem I have - every 2 seconds or more (this differes a lot on resources usage) movies or music stops playing for a very short time ... simply said playing isn't smooth.
I think it could be a HDD problem so I run HDTune benchmark.

Almost in every low point of the graph the video or music stopped playing for a very short time (300-600ms) and that is very annoying.
I think it could be a hdd problem or maybe CPU problem that affects the hdd results as well, because the mouse pointer also stops moving for a while.
Ive recently intalled win7 64 bit and upgraded my nvidia drivers tonight and now media center and media player say they cant play blu ray format,

Using the Acer Arcade software I can play DVD perfectly, however when I play BD the playback is jerky.
I have just updated the software to the latest version.
Has anyone else experienced this, or know how I can improve the playback?
All of a sudden my bluray drive is missing from my computer and every other programs. What is the problem and how can i fix it? I can open the tray n put a dvd inside. It even spins but nothing comes in screen.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had this laptop for just about a week and a half, and although last week it played "The Dark Knight" BluRay disc, it will not play any bluray at this point in time.
The Acer Arcade Deluxe program is apparently supposed to do that function, but it will not. I have updated the software for AAD a couple of times. I have tried reinstalling it, I have tried checking the driver for the multi-drive. All to no avail!
Right now the Device Manager calls the optical drive a CD-Rom. I do not know if it was a Windowes update that screwed things up, or what, but what is the point of buying a laptop with a blu-ray drive, when 10 days later it won't play a blu-ray disc?
I keep getting an Acer pop-up that says "Please Download Latest Version of Flash Player". I have updated adobe flash player and that didn't work? Its an Acer Aspire 5733 purchased new less than one year ago.

i cant run program or anything, i cant seem how to use them.
for some reason i can only get bluray discs to run on the acer arcade thing and windows media centre(which just turns acer arcade and plays it through that)
iv tried vlc player and windows media player 1 and neither work
also my partitions are 140gb each.
im guessing the other is for storeing stuff and backups.
but how can i make it so i have like 250gb for the first partition and only 30-40gb for the second one?
