View 8 Replies View RelatedMy notebook(Acer Aspire 5735Z) has a problem:
It happends with Internet Explorer,Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, when I post long messages in forums or blogs,or when I upload files in hosting websites like imageshack or megaupload,Firefox tells me that "The connection was reset"
In the other computer I have I can upload files without problems and I don't get errors, the two computers share the same net.
So I don't know why my notebook reacts like that when I try to upload files or write long posts in forum..is it only my notebook's problem or is it a Issue of the Acer Aspire 5735Z Notebooks, and how can I repair it?
I have an Acer notebook, Aspire 5735Z. Each time I turn on my computer I have to disable the touch pad using Fn plus F7. This disable function is not permanent though. Is there a way to disable the touch pad permanently?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed ubuntu on my laptop through a flash drive. I then loaded up Super Grub from a CD to remove ubuntu and grub to restore Windows boot menu because I preferred XP, I followed the instructions from Super Grub menu, and I was sent directly to the Acer erecovery. I decided to restart my laptop after that, reset everything in the bios, including boot order, but now my laptop keeps booting up acer erecovery, even after going through the process.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI currently have the 5735z aspire. My problem lies with Acer not having any support for this notebook. I have been searching for anything to give a bios update. I have found the 5730 aspire is practically a mirror of my laptop except for the screen size.(5735z has a 15.6) I was curious if I could use the updates for the 5730 on mine. They both have gl40 chipset and the same cpu. I noticed the bios updates starts at 1.07 and goes up to 1.14.
Mine is currently 1.07. So my question is can I use the bios for the 5730?
Just purchased a 5735Z and I know it's not going to be the most powerful machine when it comes to games, but i've found its performance dismal in even some of the older games.
I've been playing quakelive a bit lately, but I can't run it past 800x600 without major lag, and fullscreen is unplayable even at 640x480. I installed Sims 2 just to test out an older game and that is running at about 15-20fps max at lowest detail.
I've tried updating the drivers, and I have the latest chipset and graphics ones. Do you think installing XP would help performance? Also what about using a 64bit operating system - is the T4200 a 64bit chip and would that help at all?
I transferred some embroidery designs from old XP onto a USB jump drive. When I download them to the Acer windows 8.1 they seem to disappear. I get the little bar window that shows them downloading so I know they must be somewhere! Where do they go? I indicated to put them in "My documents" but they are not there or in the "downloads" section....

I am an administrator but the computer says I don't have rights to install things. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 6920G, running windows vista.
The battery of my Acer Aspire v5 died while it was copying files over wireless. The batter was very low, but i thought that i could squeeze in the file copy any ways. Well, I was wrong. The battery died, and now it refuses to charge. When i try to turn it on, the battery light flashes 5 times and it does NOT turn on.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire E5-511 that stopped booting last saturday, from what I've found I have the black screen of death (or a dead motherboard, but I'm trying to keep it positive). I think I have the proper bios .fd files, but I'm not too sure, and I can't be sure about what to name said file. I can't be sure I'm going into the Crisis mode, but I do know that If I'm holding down fn+esc when I hit the power button then the processor fan runs alot faster.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the bios on my Acer Aspire One 725-0670 from version 1 to 1.08. Now I am experiencing blue screen of death intermittently so I would like to rollback to the prior bios version to see if that would resolve the issue.
I went to the Acer drivers website but only the newer 1.08 version is there.
One way I saw on the web to rollback the bios was to disconnect the button cell battery on the motherboard - the writer says that will default the computer to the original bios.
Unfortunately that involves an almost complete disassembly of the computer. Original bios available or some alternate method to get back to bios version 1.
I'm trying to reflash my BIOS from a USB stick to save a dead Aspire V5-122P. All I find is that I should extract the BIOS files found on the Acer website and load the resulting .fd file onto a USB.However, as my laptop is dead I have only a borrowed MacBook to work with, and none of my efforts to unzip the .exe file to its constituent parts have been successful. What is the BIOS files available for the V5-122P can be extracted, and if not tell me if there's any other way to find the correct files to reflash the BIOS?

I'm having a problem with my Acer Aspire One A150.
The system won't shut down, and just restarts if I try and turn it off.
I have to pull the battery out if I want it to turn off.
When I plug the battery in, it turns on straight away without me having to press the power button.
Also the system won't work off the Mains Power only (with battery removed).
If I plug just the power lead in, the power light flickers and the system keeps clicking until I unplug it again.
The system works with the power lead only if the battery is plugged in as well.
When I try to start my Aspire V3 nothing happens, but the light in the "start" gets on.

I have a acer aspire 7741z - 5731 model MS2309 that wont turn on but when i plugin the charger the blue charger led functions but power wont work will i need to replace the motherboard? and can any 7741z motherboard be compatible with this laptop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe laptop was working fine last night. Today I turn it on but nothing happens. Ive tried turning it on with the AC and no battery and also with the battery by itself but no lights turn on - not even the charging battery light. The adapter is correctly plugged in. The battery was full last night, so you'd think that it would turn on when running the battery by itself.
Its about 1.5 years old so its out of warranty.
Ive tried holding the power button for 30 seconds and then waiting ~5 mintues and plugged the battery back in and nothing. I also did it again but tried with the adapter and still no luck.
What can I do to revive it?
Update:
Just wrapped the notebook inside a blanket and overheated it, then let it cool down.
Now it works.
All i have to do now is to remove the Nvidia gpu stuff left behind and it should be ready for use again.
Edit:
My problem is exacly the same as the one described in this thread:
Aspire 7520 - will not start or then will not shut off
But i could not find any fix.
My stepdads Acer Aspire 7520G wont turn on anymore.
The wierd thing is that it was working yesterday.
Now it just keep rebooting like seen in this YouTube clip.

Its out of warranty so i was hoping i could try fixing it myself.
With the help of the community here of course.
I been randomly searching Google for help and what i have found out is that this is a common problem, but i have yet to find any fixes other than the suggestion to remove the motherboard and reheat it inside an oven..................
