Oct 20, 2014When I go to the Backup and Recovery, and I have not yet created a factory default disc, to do so... it does not do that. How can I create a factory default disc?

Acer Aspire E15 :: Unable To Create Factory Default Backup
Nov 5, 2014We have a brand new Aspire E15 and are wanting to create a recovery backup on to a usb drive.
As per the user manual we type recovery in the search and select 'Acer Recovery Management'.
We then get the User Acount Control window asking if we want to allow Acer Recovery Management to make changes to the computer, then click 'Yes'.
Then nothing happens......

Nov 24, 2014I bought this new acer E5-771-378y , windows 8.1 and I want to get it all set up for him before Chrismas. Why can I not use a dvd disk for the recovery restore disk? It keeps telling me to insert a 16 gb usb. I don't have a free USB to use and I would prefer to put it on disks like I have done for every other computer I have owned.

I see the "LENOVO" volume as Drive D, and it appears to have the restore tools, but I cannot figure out how to get to One Key Recovery. I've tried rebooting while pressing F2 or F11 repeatedly; F2 gets me to BIOS, F11 doesn't seem to do anything.

Jan 1, 2015I am still on a long learning curve operating my PC. After refreshing my Aspire E1-570. Windows to remove malware, I had to reinstall all my new apps & software which deleted . After doing that I received a message to create a recovery file to factory default file on a USB. When I tried to do there was message that new apps & software would be deleted. Can I create a recovery file without having to re-install all new apps & software again.

Apr 8, 2009I'm trying to recover my friend's Aspire 5100 to factory default. I booted with the factory default CDs he had made. The problem i'm having is that when Vista starts up and the Acer programs are being installed (a 5 step process) the installation seems to freeze on step 4 (the eRecovery installation part)
I rebooted the computer and now when vista starts it begins trying to install the remaining 2 stages of the ACER setup.
Is there someway around this problem.
Basically, I'm wondering if i can eliminate this process and just install that stuff manually. Vista seems to have reinstalled fine, but i don't know how to get around the ACER setup.
I wrote Acer about the problem and all they could suggest was using the recovery on the hidden partition, which i'm pretty sure isn't there.
Acer :: Aspire 5735Z - The Connection Was Reset
Aug 6, 2009My notebook(Acer Aspire 5735Z) has a problem:
It happends with Internet Explorer,Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome,when I post long messages in forums or blogs,or when I upload files in hosting websites like imageshack or megaupload,Firefox tells me that "The connection was reset"
In the other computer I have I can upload files without problems and I don't get errors,the two computers share the same net.
So I don't know why my notebook reacts like that when I try to upload files or write long posts in forum..is it only my notebook's problem or is it a Issue of the Acer Aspire 5735Z Notebooks,and how can I repair it?

Does the factory default., only back up the files that were originally on the drive when I first bought it, regardless of what I install afterwards? and the Custom backsup everything? I noticed that Factory Default is 10GB, but the Custom is 29GB. This is confusing because I only install two small programs on top the Factory Default. WHat is the other 19GB?

Feb 16, 2014Where Can I download or order a Boot Disc for my Z580? It came with Windows 7, and PC World were offering a free upgrade to Windows 8.
I am currently unable to create a Factory Default Recovery Disc. There is an error with the Onekey Recovery software in burning onto the DVD / Disc. I have tried two different DVDs (4.7GB), and have tried a CD (740MB). And I receive the same error about one fifth of the way through.
The reason I am having to do a factory reset, is because my Wirless Network driver is not working, and the laptop no longer accepts external wireless USB dongles. I can't get internet even with a wired connection. It isn't to do with whether the wireless is switched on or not. I've tried this.
What is Lenovos policy about providing customers with the means to restore their Laptops? In the past computer manufacturers / suppliers provided all the software and bootdiscs.

Feb 12, 2015I have an Acer Aspire 5741-5698 running Windows 7. I never want to connect to the internet wirelessly. I only want to connect rarely with a wired connection. I can disconnect the wireless by pressing Fn+F3 but I never see a "Launch Manager". The problem is when I turn off the computer and turn it back on, it defaults to connect wirelessly. I went to Manage Wireless Networks in Control Panel and selected Manually Connect to my home Network. That did not work. How can I stop it from connecting automatically wirelessly?

Jan 8, 2015I have an HP ENVY dv7 Notebook. When the computer was new I tried to make a recovery disc set. When finished I would check the discs ( DVD - R ) I would get a message saying the discs did not write correctly. Tried discs from three different packs, still the same. Called HP Support and they went through the procedure with me, still the same fail. I was told me not to worry if I ever had to have the discs because of a crash they would send them to me for free as they have a record. Now I will be using this computer mainly on the internet and think I should have the discs just in case. Called HP and was told no record, no free discs and it will cost a lot to make the discs. Is there any way to make discs or put the info on a hard drive? I do not know if the computer thinks I made a copy or not since the copies I thought I was making were defective.

Nov 30, 2008I currently have the 5735z aspire. My problem lies with Acer not having any support for this notebook. I have been searching for anything to give a bios update. I have found the 5730 aspire is practically a mirror of my laptop except for the screen size.(5735z has a 15.6) I was curious if I could use the updates for the 5730 on mine. They both have gl40 chipset and the same cpu. I noticed the bios updates starts at 1.07 and goes up to 1.14.
Mine is currently 1.07. So my question is can I use the bios for the 5730?
